¹¹ In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep were burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.

¹⁷ The flood was forty days on the earth. The waters increased, and lifted up the vessel, and it was lifted up above the earth. ¹⁸ The waters prevailed, and increased greatly on the earth; and the vessel floated on the surface of the waters. ¹⁹ And the waters rose very high on the earth. And all the high mountains that were under the whole sky were covered. ²⁰ The waters rose and covered the highest mountains to a depth of more than twenty-six feet. ²¹ And all flesh died that moved on the earth, flying creatures, and tame animals, and wild animals, and every creature that crawls on the earth, and all humankind. ²² All in whose nostrils breathed the breath of life, of all that was on the dry land, died. ²³ Every living thing was destroyed that was on the surface of the ground, including people, animals, crawling creatures, and flying creatures of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the vessel. ²⁴ The waters prevailed on the earth one hundred fifty days.

¹⁹ The waters wear the stones. The torrents of it wash away the dust of the earth. So you destroy the hope of man.

³² It shall be accomplished before his time. His branch shall not be green.

²³ But you, God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, but I will trust in you.

²⁴ I said, "My God, do not take me away in the midst of my days. Your years are throughout all generations.

¹⁷ Do not be too wicked, neither be foolish. Why should you die before your time?

²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of mine, and does not do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand. ²⁷ And the rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall."

³⁷ "As the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. ³⁸ For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the box-shaped vessel, ³⁹ and they did not know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
