⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me.

² I will tell God, 'Do not condemn me. Show me why you contend with me.

²² Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and you answer me. ²³ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my disobedience and my sin.

² "I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained. ³ You asked, 'Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?' therefore I have uttered that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. ⁴ You said, 'Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.' ⁵ I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you. ⁶ Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes."

³ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by man's judgment. Yes, I do not judge my own self. ⁴ For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord.
