I will question you, and you will answer me. ⁸ Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified? ⁹ Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him? ¹⁰ "Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty. ¹¹ Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low. ¹² Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place. ¹³ Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place. ¹⁴ Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you. ¹⁵ "Look now at the sauropod, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox. ¹⁶ Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly. ¹⁷ He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together. ¹⁸ His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron. ¹⁹ He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword. ²⁰ Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play. ²¹ He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh. ²² The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him. ²³ Look, if a river overflows, he doesn't tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth. ²⁴ Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?

¹ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind,

¹¹ "Why did I not die from the womb? Why did I not give up the spirit when my mother bore me? ¹² Why did the knees receive me? Or why the breast, that I should suck?

²⁰ "Why is light given to him who is in misery, life to the bitter in soul,

²³ Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, whom God has hedged in?

¹² Am I a sea, or a sea monster, that you put a guard over me?

¹⁹ How long will you not look away from me, nor leave me alone until I swallow down my spittle? ²⁰ If I have sinned, what do I do to you, you watcher of men? Why have you set me as a mark for you, so that I am a burden to myself? ²¹ Why do you not pardon my disobedience, and take away my iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust. You will seek me diligently, but I shall not be."

³ If he is pleased to contend with him, he can't answer him one time in a thousand.

¹⁷ For he bruises me with a storm, and multiplies my wounds without cause. ¹⁸ He will not allow me to catch my breath, but fills me with bitterness.

³² For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, that we should come together in judgment. ³³ There is no umpire between us, that might lay his hand on us both. ³⁴ Let him take his rod away from me. Let his terror not make me afraid; ³⁵ then I would speak, and not fear him, for I am not so in myself.

³ Is it good to you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and smile on the counsel of the wicked? ⁴ Do you have eyes of flesh? Or do you see as man sees? ⁵ Are your days as the days of mortals, or your years as man's years, ⁶ that you inquire after my iniquity, and search after my sin? ⁷ Although you know that I am not wicked, there is no one who can deliver out of your hand.

¹⁴ if I sin, then you mark me. You will not acquit me from my iniquity. ¹⁵ If I am wicked, woe to me. If I am righteous, I still shall not lift up my head, being filled with disgrace, and conscious of my affliction. ¹⁶ And if I lift myself up, you hunt me like a lion. Again you show yourself powerful to me. ¹⁷ You renew your witnesses against me, and increase your indignation on me. Changes and warfare are with me.

²¹ withdraw your hand far from me; and do not let your terror make me afraid. ²² Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and you answer me. ²³ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my disobedience and my sin. ²⁴ Why hide you your face, and hold me for your enemy? ²⁵ Will you harass a driven leaf? Will you pursue the dry stubble? ²⁶ For you write bitter things against me, and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth: ²⁷ You also put my feet in the stocks, and mark all my paths. You set a bound to the soles of my feet,

¹⁶ But now you number my steps. Do you not watch over my sin? ¹⁷ My disobedience is sealed up in a bag. You fasten up my iniquity.

¹¹ God delivers me to the ungodly, and casts me into the hands of the wicked. ¹² I was at ease, and he broke me apart. Yes, he has taken me by the neck, and dashed me to pieces. He has also set me up for his target. ¹³ His archers surround me. He splits my kidneys apart, and does not spare. He pours out my gall on the ground. ¹⁴ He breaks me with breach on breach. He runs on me like a giant. ¹⁵ I have sewed sackcloth on my skin, and have thrust my horn in the dust. ¹⁶ My face is red with weeping. Deep darkness is on my eyelids. ¹⁷ Although there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure. ¹⁸ "Earth, do not cover my blood. Let my cry have no place to rest. ¹⁹ Even now, look, my witness is in heaven. He who vouches for me is on high. ²⁰ My friends scoff at me. My eyes pour out tears to God, ²¹ that he would maintain the right of a man with God, of a son of man with his neighbor.

⁶ know now that God has subverted me, and has surrounded me with his net. ⁷ "Look, I cry out 'Injustice.' but there is no justice. ⁸ He has walled up my way so that I can't pass, and has set darkness in my paths. ⁹ He has stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head. ¹⁰ He has broken me down on every side, and I am gone. My hope he has plucked up like a tree. ¹¹ He has also kindled his wrath against me. He counts me among his adversaries.

² "As God lives, who has taken away my right, Shaddai, who has made my soul bitter.

²¹ You have turned to be cruel to me. With the might of your hand you persecute me.

¹³ Why do you strive against him, because he doesn't give account of any of his matters?

¹⁰ Whatever has been, its name was given long ago; and it is known what man is; neither can he contend with him who is mightier than he.

¹⁴ From whom did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding? Or who has first given to him, and it will be repaid to him again?

⁹ Woe to him who strives with his Maker, a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth. Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, 'What are you making?' or your work, 'He has no hands?' ¹⁰ Woe to him who says to a father, 'What have you become the father of?' or to a mother, 'To what have you given birth?'" ¹¹ Thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: "You ask me about the things that are to come, concerning my sons, and you command me concerning the work of my hands.

⁸ He is near who justifies me; who will bring charges against me? Let us stand up together: who is my adversary? Let him come near to me.

² "What do you mean, that you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?'

¹¹ When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household,

¹⁹ You will say then to me, "Why does he still find fault? For who withstands his will?" ²⁰ But who indeed are you, a human being, to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, "Why did you make me like this?" ²¹ Or hasn't the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor? ²² What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath made for destruction, ²³ and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory,

³⁴ For "Who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?" ³⁵ "Or who has first given to him, and it will be repaid to him again?" ³⁶ For from him and by him and in him are all things. To him be the glory for ever. Amen.

¹⁶ For, "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Who will instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

²² Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

²⁷ Abraham answered, "Look, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes.

¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the loving kindnesses and of all the faithfulness which you have shown to your servant; for with just my staff I passed over this Jordan, and now I have become two camps.

¹⁹ They said to him, "Hold your peace, lay your hand on your mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest. Is it better for you to be priest to the house of one man, or to be priest to a tribe and a family in Israel?"

¹⁰ David's heart struck him after that he had numbered the people. David said to the LORD, "I have sinned greatly in that which I have done. But now, LORD, put away, I beg you, the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly."

⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he requested for himself that he might die, and said, "It is enough. Now, O LORD, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers."

⁶ and I said, "My God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to you, my God; for our iniquities have increased over our head, and our guiltiness has grown up to the heavens.

¹⁵ The LORD, the God of Israel, you are righteous; for we are left a remnant that has escaped, as it is this day. Look, we are before you in our guiltiness; for none can stand before you because of this."

³³ However you are just in all that has come on us; for you have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly;

³¹ yet you will plunge me in the ditch. My own clothes shall abhor me.

²¹ that he would maintain the right of a man with God, of a son of man with his neighbor.

⁵ Look at me, and be astonished. Lay your hand on your mouth.

⁴ I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me. ⁶ Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me. ⁷ There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.

⁹ The princes refrained from talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.

³⁷ I would declare to him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near to him.

⁶ Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes."

⁹ I was mute. I did not open my mouth, because you did it.

⁴ Against you, and you only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in your sight; that you may be proved right when you speak, and justified when you judge. ⁵ Look, I was brought forth in iniquity. In sin my mother conceived me.

³² "If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, or if you have thought evil, put your hand over your mouth.

⁵ Then I said, "Woe is me. For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

⁶ For we have all become as one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is as a polluted garment: and we all fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

⁵ We have sinned, and have done what is wrong and wicked, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your commandments and from your ordinances.

⁷ Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near, and who are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds that they have committed against you.

¹⁶ The nations will see and be ashamed of all their might. They will lay their hand on their mouth. Their ears will be deaf.

²⁰ But the LORD is in his holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before him."

¹³ Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for he has roused himself from his holy habitation."

⁸ But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord."

¹⁸ I will get up and go to my father, and will tell him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight. ¹⁹ I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."'

¹³ But the tax collector, standing far away, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner.'

¹⁵ The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

¹⁰ The king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once nor twice.

¹⁵ Though I were righteous, yet I wouldn't answer him. I would make petition to my judge.

¹⁴ For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.

³¹ "For has any said to God, 'I am guilty, but I will not offend any more. ³² Teach me that which I do not see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more'?

¹¹ God has spoken once; twice I have heard this, that power belongs to God.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus, 'You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as an untrained calf: turn me, and I shall be turned; for you are the LORD my God. ¹⁹ Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I struck on my thigh: I was ashamed, yes, even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.'

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

³ Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him. ⁴ He calls to the heavens above, to the earth, that he may judge his people:

¹⁸ For you have not come to something that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and darkness, gloom, and storm, ¹⁹ the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them, ²⁰ for they could not stand that which was commanded, "If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned;"

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works on it will not be found. ¹¹ Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness, ¹² looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, which will cause the burning heavens to be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

²² Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and you answer me.

³ Oh that I knew where I might find him. That I might come even to his seat. ⁴ I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

³ Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me.

⁴ You said, 'Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.'

³ Is it good to you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and smile on the counsel of the wicked?

² "As God lives, who has taken away my right, Shaddai, who has made my soul bitter. ³ (For the length of my life is still in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils); ⁴ surely my lips shall not speak unrighteousness, neither shall my tongue utter deceit. ⁵ Far be it from me that I should justify you. Until I die I will not put away my integrity from me. ⁶ I hold fast to my righteousness, and will not let it go. My conscience will not accuse me as long as I live.

² Then the wrath of Elihu the son of Barakel, the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was kindled against Job. His wrath was kindled because he justified himself rather than God.

⁵ For Job has said, 'I am righteous, God has taken away my right: ⁶ Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.'

² "Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's,' ³ That you ask, 'What advantage will it be to you? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?'

⁴ Against you, and you only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in your sight; that you may be proved right when you speak, and justified when you judge.

²⁷ For the LORD of hosts has planned, and who can stop it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?"

¹⁸ Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.

⁴ Absolutely not. Let God be found true, but every human being a liar. As it is written, "That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you judge."

¹⁵ Brothers, I am speaking in human terms. Though it is only a human covenant, once it has been ratified, no one annuls it or adds to it.

¹⁷ Now I say this: the law, which came four hundred thirty years later, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to cancel the promise.

¹⁸ For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness

⁶ Your right hand, LORD, is glorious in power. Your right hand, LORD, dashes the enemy in pieces.

⁴ For he is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who has hardened himself against him, and prospered?

⁶ Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me.

¹² "Look, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man. ¹³ Why do you strive against him, because he doesn't give account of any of his matters?

⁴ After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn't hold back anything when his voice is heard. ⁵ God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can't comprehend.

³ The voice of the LORD is on the waters. The God of glory thunders, even the LORD on many waters.

³ My heart was hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned: I spoke with my tongue: ⁴ "LORD, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am. ⁵ Look, you have made my days handbreadths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath." Selah. ⁶ "Surely a person goes about like a shadow. Surely he heaps up vain things of wealth, and doesn't know who shall gather them. ⁷ And now, LORD, what do I wait for? My hope is in you. ⁸ Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the taunt of fools. ⁹ I was mute. I did not open my mouth, because you did it.

¹⁰ You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

¹³ You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong, and your right hand is exalted.

⁹ Woe to him who strives with his Maker, a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth. Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, 'What are you making?' or your work, 'He has no hands?'

² You shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.

¹¹ Yours, LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.

¹⁹ "Have you given the horse might? Have you clothed his neck with a quivering mane?

⁵ His glory is great in your salvation. You lay honor and majesty on him.

³ Gird your sword on your thigh, mighty one: your splendor and your majesty. ⁴ In your majesty ride on victoriously on behalf of truth, humility, and righteousness. Let your right hand display awesome deeds.

² Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.

¹⁶ Let your work appear to your servants; your glory to their children. ¹⁷ Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands.

¹ The LORD reigns. He is clothed with majesty. The LORD is armed with strength. The world also is established. It can't be moved.

¹ Bless the LORD, my soul. The LORD, my God, you are very great. You are clothed with splendor and majesty. ² He covers himself with light as with a garment. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain.

⁴ For the LORD takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation.

² In that day, the LORD's branch will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the beauty and glory of the survivors of Israel.

¹⁷ He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; and he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'

⁵⁴ But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: "Death is swallowed up in victory."

¹⁶ For we did not follow cunningly devised tales, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. ¹⁷ For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

²⁴ Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy, ²⁵ to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

¹⁶ but indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth; ¹⁷ as you still exalt yourself against my people, that you won't let them go.

¹¹ Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods because of the thing in which they dealt arrogantly against them."

²² For a fire is kindled in my anger, and burns to the lowest Sheol, and devours the earth with its increase, and sets the foundations of the mountains on fire.

²³ When he is about to fill his belly, he will cast the fierceness of his wrath on him. It will rain on him while he is eating.

²² For it hurls at him, and does not spare, as he flees away from his hand.

⁴⁹ He threw on them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, indignation, and trouble, and a band of destroying angels. ⁵⁰ He made a path for his anger. He did not spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence,

⁶ Throw out lightning, and scatter them. Send out your arrows, and rout them.

¹¹ The proud looks of humankind will be brought low, and the arrogance of people will be brought down; and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. ¹² For there will be a day of the LORD of hosts for all that is proud and haughty, and for all that is lifted up and high; and it shall be brought low:

¹⁷ The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹² Therefore it will happen that, when the Lord has performed his whole work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, he will punish the fruit of the willful proud heart of the king of Assyria, and the insolence of his haughty looks. ¹³ For he has said, "By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I have understanding: and I have removed the boundaries of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures. Like a valiant man I have brought down their rulers. ¹⁴ My hand has found the riches of the peoples like a nest, and like one gathers eggs that are abandoned, have I gathered all the earth. There was no one who moved their wing, or that opened their mouth, or chirped." ¹⁵ Should an axe brag against him who chops with it? Should a saw exalt itself above him who saws with it? As if a rod should lift those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up someone who is not wood. ¹⁶ Therefore the LORD of hosts, will send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory a burning will be kindled like the burning of fire. ¹⁷ The light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame; and it will burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day. ¹⁸ He will consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body. It will be as when a standard bearer faints. ¹⁹ The remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, so that a child could write their number.

²⁵ Therefore he poured the fierceness of his anger on him, and the strength of battle; and it set him on fire all around, but he did not know; and it burned him, but he did not take it to heart."

² "Son of man, tell the prince of Tyre, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, 'I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas'; yet you are man, and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of God—

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble."

²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was removed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him. ²¹ And he was driven from the sons of men, and his mind was made like the animals', and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky; until he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and that he sets up over it whomever he wants. ²² You his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this, ²³ but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven. And they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your secondary wives, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor know. And the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways, you have not glorified.

³ The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high, who says in his heart, 'Who will bring me down to the ground?' ⁴ Though you mount on high as the eagle, and though your nest is set among the stars, I will bring you down from there," says the LORD.

⁶ Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by him.

¹ "For, look, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and the day that comes will burn them up," says the LORD of hosts, "that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

²² But the crowd shouted, "The voice of a god, and not of a man." ²³ Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.

⁸ But to those who are self-seeking, and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness -- wrath and anger, ⁹ affliction and distress, on every human being who does evil, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

⁶ But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

⁵ Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, towards one another; for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. ⁶ Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;

⁷ The LORD makes poor, and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up.

²⁰ Do not desire the night, when people are cut off in their place.

¹² Through God we shall do valiantly, for it is he who will tread down our adversaries.

²⁵ The LORD will uproot the house of the proud, but he will keep the widow's borders intact.

³ If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth; and if a tree falls toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there shall it be.

⁶ I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me will I give him a command to take the spoil and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

¹¹ I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the haughtiness of the terrible.

³ "I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yes, I trod them in my anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I have stained all my clothing.

⁵ They shall be as mighty men, treading down muddy streets in the battle; and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them; and the riders on horses will be confounded.

³ You shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make," says the LORD of hosts.

²⁵ to take part in this ministry and office of apostle from which Judas turned away to go to his own place."

²⁰ And the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

⁸ Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman had fallen on the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, "Will he even assault the queen in front of me in the house?" As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.

¹³ "Oh that you would hide me in Sheol, that you would keep me secret, until your wrath is past, that you would appoint me a set time, and remember me.

¹³ "But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They do not cry for help when he binds them.

¹⁴ They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.

¹⁰ Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty.

⁴⁴ The man who had died came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Free him, and let him go."

³ For they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.

⁶ For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

²⁹ He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.

⁶ For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), ⁶ and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, ⁷ that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; ⁸ for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not of works, that no one would boast.

²⁴ And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures after its kind: tame animals, and crawling creatures, and wild animals of the earth after its kind." And it was so. ²⁵ And God made the wild animals of the earth after its kind, and the tame animals after its kind, and everything that crawls on the ground after its kind. And God saw that it was good. ²⁶ And God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the flying creatures of the sky, and over the tame animals, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creature that crawls on the earth." And it was so.

⁸ The range of the mountains is his pasture, He searches after every green thing.

²⁰ Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food out of the earth:

²³ The flakes of his flesh are joined together. They are firm on him. They can't be moved.

⁴ Because I knew that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your brow bronze;

¹³ By his Spirit the heavens are garnished. His hand has pierced the swift serpent.

³³ On earth there is not his equal, that is made without fear.

¹² If a man doesn't relent, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent and strung his bow.

²⁴ LORD, how many are your works. In wisdom have you made them all. The earth is full of your riches.

¹ In that day, the LORD with his fierce and great and mighty sword will punish leviathan, the fleeing serpent, and leviathan the twisted serpent; and he will kill the serpent that is in the sea.

¹⁵ "Look now at the sauropod, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.

²⁶ There the ships go, and leviathan, whom you formed to play there.

⁸ who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass grow on the mountains. ⁹ He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call.

⁶ The rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away. ⁷ The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, will become dry, be driven away, and be no more.

⁷ The burning sand will become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water. Grass with reeds and rushes will be in the habitation of jackals, where they lay.

⁴⁰ You shall take on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.

⁷ Therefore they will carry away the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have stored up, over the Brook of the Willows.

⁵ He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful soil; he placed it beside many waters; he set it as a willow tree.

¹⁰ Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well-watered everywhere, like the garden of God, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar. (This was before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)

¹⁵ and when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest),

⁸ "I would hurry to a shelter from the stormy wind and storm."

¹⁶ Therefore thus says the LORD, "Look, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation, and the one who believes in him will not be put to shame.

²⁵ I have dug and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt."

¹ "Can you draw out Deinosuchus with a fishhook, or press down his tongue with a cord? ² Can you put a rope into his nose, or pierce his jaw through with a hook?
