⁴ They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Lake of Rushes, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

²⁷ Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

⁷ Why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD has given them?

⁹ For when they went up to the Valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.

⁴¹ They traveled from Mount Hor, and camped in Zalmonah.

⁴⁰ But as for you, turn, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way to the Lake of Rushes."

⁵ do not contend with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on; because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession. ⁶ You shall purchase food of them for money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water of them for money, that you may drink.'" ⁷ For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand; he has known your walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing. ⁸ So we passed by from our brothers the descendants of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Eilat and from Ezion Geber.
