³³ Hear instruction, and be wise. Do not refuse it.

¹¹ But my people did not listen to my voice. Israel desired none of me. ¹² So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts, that they might walk in their own counsels.

² To know wisdom and instruction, to discern the words of understanding. ³ To receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity.

⁸ My son, listen to your father's instruction, and do not forsake your mother's teaching:

²¹ She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:

¹ Listen, sons, to a father's instruction. Pay attention and know understanding;

¹ My son, pay attention to my wisdom. Turn your ear to my understanding:
