⁷ Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

²⁶ And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain. And David was hurrying to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men surrounded David and his men to take them. ²⁷ But a messenger came to Saul, saying, "Hurry and come; for the Philistines have made a raid on the land."

¹⁴ Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? After a dead dog, or one flea? ¹⁵ May the LORD therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you. May he see and plead my cause, and deliver me out of your hand."

²⁹ Though men may rise up to pursue you, and to seek your soul, yet the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD your God. He will sling out the souls of your enemies, as from the hollow of a sling.

² I will come on him while he is weary and exhausted, and will make him afraid. All the people who are with him shall flee. I will strike the king only,

²¹ It happened, after they had departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David. ¹⁵ My eyes are ever on the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

³ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.

⁵ Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

²⁶ For among my people are found wicked men. They watch, as fowlers lie in wait. They set a trap. They catch men.

²² Let a cry be heard from their houses, when you shall bring a troop suddenly on them; for they have dug a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.

²⁶ and they may recover themselves out of the devil's snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.
