³ As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

⁴¹ "Now therefore arise, LORD God, into your resting place, you, and the ark of your strength: let your priests, LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let your faithful ones rejoice in what is good.

⁴ Sing praise to the LORD, you his faithful ones. Give thanks to his holy name.

⁶ My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me. He who walks in a perfect way, he will serve me.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; ²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, ²⁷ that he might present the church to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

⁸ This saying is faithful, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, so that those who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable for people;

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death. ¹⁵ Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him. ¹⁶ By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. ¹⁷ But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
