⁵ You know that he appeared to take away sins. There is no sin in him!

⁴ He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. We considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. ⁵ But he was pierced for our transgressions! He was crushed for our iniquities! The punishment that brought us peace was upon him. There has been healing for us because of his wounds. ⁶ We are all like sheep. We have gone astray! Each of us has turned to his own way. Jehovah has caused the iniquity (sin) of all of us to be laid on him. ⁷ He was oppressed and afflicted and yet he did not open his mouth. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. He was silent like sheep ready to be sheared. He did not open his mouth. ⁸ He was oppressed, judged and taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? He was removed from the land of the living. He was destroyed because of the transgression of my people. ⁹ He was buried like a criminal in a rich mans grave. He had done no wrong, nor was any deceit in his mouth. ¹⁰ It was Jehovah’s will to allow him to be crushed. Even though Jehovah makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of Jehovah will prosper in his hand. ¹¹ After his suffering he will see the light and be satisfied. By his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many. He will bear their iniquities. ¹² Therefore I will give him a portion among the great. He will divide the spoils with the strong. This is because he poured out his life unto death. He was numbered with the transgressors. He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

² »Return to Jehovah and say to him: ‘Take away all iniquity and receive us graciously, that we may present the fruit (young bulls) of our lips.’ (Hebrews 13:15)

²¹ »She will give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus (»Jehovah (YHWH) is salvation«), because he will save his people from their sins.«

²⁹ The next day he saw Jesus coming to him. He boldly declared: »Behold! The Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!«

³¹ »I did not know him. I came baptizing in water so that everyone in Israel will come to know him.«

⁴¹ »We are indeed justly condemned for we receive the due reward of our deeds. But this man has done nothing wrong.«

⁴⁷ The centurion saw what was done and glorified God, saying: »Certainly this was a righteous man.«

⁴⁶ »Which of you convicted me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe me?

³⁰ »I will speak no more with you. The prince of the world comes. He has no hold on me!

²⁴ being justified freely by his grace (as a gift) through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. ²⁵ God displayed Christ publicly as propitiation (atonement) by his blood through faith. It demonstrated his righteousness. It was through the forbearance of God that he passed by the sins that had taken place before. ²⁶ It showed his righteousness at this present season that he might himself be righteous, and the justifier of he who has faith in Jesus.

²¹ He made the one who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf. That way we might become the righteousness of God in him.

²⁵ Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself up for it. ²⁶ This is so he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word. ²⁷ So he will be able to present the congregation to himself as a glorious congregation, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing. It should be holy and without blemish.

³ God’s Son is the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his being. He sustains all things by his powerful word. After Jesus purged our sins, he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

¹⁵ Faithful is the saying, and worthy of acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.

¹⁶ The secret of godliness is great and it is without controversy. ‘He (Jesus Christ) was manifested (revealed) in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, and seen by angels. He preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, and received up in glory.’

¹⁴ He (Jesus Christ) gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify a people for himself, who are special people, zealous for good works.

¹⁵ We do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our infirmities (weaknesses). He was tested in all things like ourselves. Yet he was without sin!

²⁶ Such a high priest as this was suitable for us. He is holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and higher than the heavens.

²⁶ Otherwise he would have to suffer often from the founding of the world. He has presented himself once at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

²⁸ So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. He will appear the second time without sin to those who look to him for their salvation.

²⁰ Jesus was known before the foundation of the world. He was made known at the end times for your sake.

² The life was made known and we have seen and testify about it. We declare the life to you. It is the eternal life, which was with the Father and was shown to us.

⁷ If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

¹ My little children, I write you these things that you may not sin. If any man sin, we have an Advocate (intercessor) (comforter) (helper) with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous!

²² He committed no sin and deception was not found in him.

²⁴ He bore our sins in his body upon the stake, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed because of his wounds (stripes).

¹⁸ Because Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.

⁹ The love of God was made known through us. God sent his only-begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (atonement) (sacrificial payment) for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has seen God at any time! If we love one another, God lives with us, and his love is perfected (accomplished) (matured) through us. ¹³ We know that we live with him and he with us, because he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ We see and testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

⁵ And from Jesus Christ, who is the Faithful Witness, and the firstborn from the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood.
