2 Thessalonians 2:3 Cross References - NSB

³ Do not let anyone deceive you about this in any way. That day will not come unless apostasy (a falling away from truth) takes place first, and the man of lawlessness (sin), the man of destruction, is revealed. (2 Timothy 4:3)

²⁵ ‘»He will speak words against the Most High (Supreme God) and wear down (afflict) (cause great distress) the holy ones of the Most High. He will think to change the times and law and will have control until a time and times and half a time. (Three and one-half years)

³⁶ »The king will do according to his will. He will exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god. He will speak horrable (atrocious) things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the indignation is accomplished for that which is determined will be done.

²⁵ »Through his policy he will cause deceit to prosper in his hand. He will boast about himself in his heart. In their security they will destroy many. He will even stand up against the prince of princes; but he will be destroyed without human power.

⁴ Jesus answered: »Be careful that no man misleads you. ⁵ »Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. ⁶ »You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Do not be troubled, for this must happen, but the end is not yet.

¹² »While I was with them I kept them in your name, which you have given to me. I guarded them, and not one of them perished, except the son of perdition; that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

⁹ Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor people who worship idols, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words. It is because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

⁸ Then the evil (lawless) one will be revealed. The Lord Jesus will put him to death with the breath of his mouth, and destroy him by the manifestation (brightness) (advent) (revelation) of his coming. (Greek: parousia: presence, return, being near) ⁹ The evil (lawless) one will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false signs and wonders. ¹⁰ He will use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved.

¹ The Spirit explicitly says that some will fall away from the faith (truth) in later times. Spirits and doctrines of demons will seduce them, ² through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron. ³ They will forbid marrying, [and command] to abstain from food, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

¹ Know this also that in the last days perilous (dangerous) times will come. ² For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous (lovers of money), arrogant, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful (ungrateful), unholy, ³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, despisers of those who are good,

³ For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine. Having their ears tickled, they will accumulate teachers who follow after their own lusts. ⁴ They will turn their ears away from the truth, and turn aside to myths (fiction).

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour! You heard that the antichrist is coming. Even now many antichrists have come. That is how we know that it is the last hour.

⁵ A mouth speaking great things and blasphemies was given to the beast. And authority to act was given to him to continue forty-two months. ⁶ He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, to slander his name, and his dwelling place, and those who live in heaven.

¹¹ Then I saw another wild beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb and he spoke like a dragon. ¹² He exercises all the authority of the first beast that came ahead of him. The second beast causes the earth and those who live there to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ He performed great signs, so that he made fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. ¹⁴ And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles he had power to do in the sight of the beast. He says to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast that had the wound by a sword and yet lives. ¹⁵ He had power to give breath to the image of the beast and to make that image of the beast speak. He caused many to be killed, those who would not worship the image of the beast. ¹⁶ And he forces all persons, the great and the small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads. ¹⁷ No one could buy or sell without the mark, the name of the beast, or the number of its name. ¹⁸ This requires wisdom. Let him that has understanding calculate the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

⁸ »The beast that you saw was, and is not. It will ascend out of the pit and go into destruction. They who dwell on the earth will wonder, those whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

¹¹ »The beast that was, and is not, he is the eighth king, and is from the seven, and goes into destruction.
