2 Timothy 2 Cross References - NSB

1 You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace (loving-kindness) that is in Christ Jesus. 2 What you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well. 3 You must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No soldier entangles himself in the affairs of this life. That way, he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. 5 If anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules. 6 The hard-working farmer should be first to receive his share of the crops. 7 Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in all things. 8 Remember that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. He is a descendant of David, according to my good news. 9 I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal. But the word of God is not imprisoned. 10 For this reason I endure all things for the sake of the chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory. 11 This is a faithful saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him. 12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him. If we deny him, He will deny us! 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny himself. 14 Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to argue about words. This is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to be presented approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. 16 But avoid worldly and empty discussion, for it will lead to further ungodliness. 17 This kind of talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus. 18 These men have gone astray from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some. 19 The foundation of God stands firm having this seal: »Jehovah knows those who belong to him,« and: »Everyone who names the name of Jehovah is to abstain from wickedness.« 20 Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. 21 If anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. 22 Flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord with a clean heart. 23 But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing they produce quarrels (controversy) (fighting). 24 The Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind (gentle) to all, able to teach, and patient when wronged. 25 He should instruct those who oppose using meekness. Perhaps God will give them repentance that they may know the truth. 26 They should come to their senses out of the snare of the Devil. He has taken them captive and they do his will.

If he did not raise him up from the dead then the dead are not raised up. 16 For if the dead are not raised up then Christ has not been raised. 17 And if Christ is not resurrected, your faith is worth nothing, and you are still in your sins. 18 Then they also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable (pitiable). 20 Christ has risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who slept [in death].

Does God care only about oxen? 10 Or did he say it for our benefit? This is written for our benefit without a doubt! He who plows should plow in hope. 4 The weapons we use in our fight are not of the flesh but God's powerful weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. 2 Walk with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, putting up with one another in love.

Ephesians 4:17

17 This I say therefore, and testify (affirm) in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the nations also walk, in the vanity (futility) (depravity) of their mind (thinking).

Ephesians 4:17-22

17 This I say therefore, and testify (affirm) in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the nations also walk, in the vanity (futility) (depravity) of their mind (thinking). 18 They are darkened (blinded) (obscured) in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart. 19 They are past feeling. They have given themselves over to loose conduct, to work all uncleanness with greediness (a lust for more). 20 But you did not learn Christ that way. 21 You learned him and were taught by him just as truth is in Jesus. 22 You put away your former way (course) (behavior) (conversation) of life, the old self that was corrupt with the lusts of deceit.

Ephesians 4:30

30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in which (Greek: en hos) (in which) (Greek: hos, he ho) (whereby) (which) you were sealed to the day of release by ransom.

Ephesians 5:1-11

1 Therefore imitate God like beloved children. 2 Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us. He was an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling odor. 3 Fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among holy ones. 4 Nor should there be filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting but rather giving of thanks. 5 For you know this with certainty, that no fornicator, no unclean person, no covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words. It is because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Do not be partakers with them. 8 You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk (live) (be occupied) as children of light 9 for the fruit of the light (life) (spirit) consists of all goodness and righteousness and truth. 10 Learn what is well pleasing to the Lord. 11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead reprove (expose) (convict) them.

Ephesians 5:14

14 For this reason it says: »Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.«

Philippians 4:8

8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.

Philippians 4:13

13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Colossians 1:7

7 You learned about Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf.

Colossians 1:9

9 Since the day we heard about you, we have not ceased to pray and make request for you. We pray for you to be filled with the [intimate accurate] knowledge (discernment) (recognition) of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. (Philippians 1:9) (John 17:3)

Colossians 1:13

13 He rescued us from the power of darkness, and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of his love (the Son he dearly loves).

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9 He told me: »My grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness.« Most gladly therefore, I would rather glory in my infirmities (frailities), that the power of Christ may rest upon me (cover me like a tent) (descend upon me) (abide with me). (Isaiah 40:29-31) 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 13:4

4 Though he was impaled through weakness, yet he lives by the power of God. We are weak through him also, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

Galatians 1:7

7 Yet this is not another good news. But there are some who trouble (agitate) you, and they would pervert the good news of Christ.

Galatians 1:10

10 Do I now seek the favor of men, or of God? Am I striving to please men? If I were still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Ephesians 6:10

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty strength. 11 Put on the full armor (every implement) of God, that you may be able to stand against the cunning (inventive) (clever) methods of the devil. 12 Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places. 13 For that reason, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore and gird your loins with truth. Put on the breastplate of righteousness. 15 Shod your feet with the preparation of the good news of peace. 16 Also take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With prayer and supplication pray at all times in the Spirit. Watch with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones. 19 Pray on my behalf, that ability to speak may be given to me, to make known with boldness the secret of the good news. 20 I am an ambassador in chains who should speak boldly.

Philippians 1:7

7 It is right for me to feel this way on behalf of you all, because I have you in my heart. Both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the good news you are all partakers with me of grace.

Philippians 1:12-14

12 I would have you know, brothers that the things that happened to me turned out for the greater progress of the good news. 13 My imprisonment in Christ became known throughout the whole Praetorian Guard, and to all brothers. 14 Most of the brothers trust in the Lord and boldly speak the word of God without fear because of my bonds. 15 Some preach Christ from envy and strife and some from good will.

Philippians 1:28

28 Do not be frightened by opponents. This is evidence of destruction for them and salvation for you from God.

Philippians 2:3

3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others more important than you.

Philippians 2:14

14 Do all things without complaining (grumbling) (murmuring) and questioning (disputing).

Colossians 1:24

24 I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake. I do my share in behalf of his body, the congregation, to provide what is lacking of the afflictions of Christ.

Colossians 1:27

27 It was God’s will to make known his secret to the people of the nations, this rich and glorious secret that he has for people. The secret is that Christ is in union with you, which means that you will share in his glory.

Colossians 1:29

29 I work hard to get this done. I use the mighty strength Christ supplies. It is at work in me.

Colossians 3:1

1 If you have been raised together with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:3-4

3 For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, will be made known, then you will also be made known with him in glory. 5 Make your members that are upon the earth dead with regard to fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (greed), which is idolatry. 6 Because of such things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 You once walked in these when you lived in them. 8 Now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech out of your mouth.

Colossians 3:13

13 Tolerate (endure) (suffer) (put up with) one another, and forgive each other. If any man has a complaint against anyone, forgive them, even as God forgave you.

Colossians 4:3

3 Pray also for us that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the secret of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned.

Colossians 4:18

18 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. Remember my imprisonment. Grace be with you.

1 Thessalonians 2:4

4 We always speak, as God wants us to. He has judged us worthy to be entrusted with the Good News. We do not try to please people, but to please God, who tests our motives (examines our hearts).

1 Thessalonians 2:7

7 But we were gentle when we were with you, like a mother taking care of her children.

1 Thessalonians 4:1

1 Furthermore, we encourage you, brothers, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us how you ought to walk, and to please God, so you would abound more and more.

1 Thessalonians 4:17

17 We that are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so will we ever be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:9

9 For God has not appointed us to experience his wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us, that, whether we are awake in this life or sleep in death, we should live together with him.

1 Thessalonians 5:14

14 We ask you brothers to warn the unruly and comfort the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient with all men.

1 Thessalonians 5:24

24 Faithful is he who calls you. He will also make it happen.

2 Thessalonians 1:4-8

4 That is why we boast (rejoice) (have glory) about you in the congregations of God. We boast (rejoice) (have glory) about the way you continue to endure and believe through all the persecutions and sufferings you experience. 5 All of this proves that God’s judgment is just, and as a result, you will become worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering. 6 It is a righteous thing for God to repay with affliction (great suffering and distress) those who afflict you. 7 You who are afflicted rest with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire. 8 They will render vengeance to those who do not know God, and to those who do not obey the good news of our Lord Jesus.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-8

7 The secret of evil (lawlessness) is even now at work. But there is one who restrains the evil till he is taken out of the way. 8 Then the evil (lawless) one will be revealed. The Lord Jesus will put him to death with the breath of his mouth, and destroy him by the manifestation (brightness) (advent) (revelation) of his coming. (Greek: parousia: presence, return, being near) 9 The evil (lawless) one will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false signs and wonders. 10 He will use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved. 11 So God dispatches the power of deceit (error) to work in them so that they are allowed to believe what is false. 12 Then everyone who did not believe the truth, but was delighted with wickedness, will be condemned.

2 Thessalonians 2:14

14 It was for this he called you through our good news. This is so you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 3:1

1 Finally, brothers, pray for us that the word of God will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you.

1 Timothy 4:6

6 If you tell the brothers about these things, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed until now. 7 Refuse false stories and old wives' fables. Train yourself with godliness in mind. 8 Bodily exercise is profitable for a little. However, godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of the life that is to come.

1 Timothy 4:12-16

12 Let no man look down on your youth. Be an example to the believers in speech and conduct, in love, in faith and chasteness.

1 Timothy 4:12

12 Let no man look down on your youth. Be an example to the believers in speech and conduct, in love, in faith and chasteness. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to teaching. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift in you. It was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.

1 Timothy 4:14-16

14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift in you. It was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders. 15 Be diligent and think about these things. Give yourself wholly to them. That way your progress may be apparent to all.

1 Timothy 4:15-16

15 Be diligent and think about these things. Give yourself wholly to them. That way your progress may be apparent to all. 16 Pay attention to yourself and to your teaching. Continue in these things. When you do this you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.

1 Timothy 5:21

21 I charge you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these [principles] without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality. 22 Do not lay your hands hastily on any man, neither be a partaker of other men's sins: keep yourself pure.

1 Timothy 6:4-5

4 he is proud, knows nothing, has a morbid interest in questions and disputes about words, which leads to envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, 5 frictions between men corrupted in mind and lacking in truth, supposing that godliness is a way of gain.

1 Timothy 6:9-12

9 Those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts. These draw men into ruin and destruction.

1 Timothy 6:9-10

9 Those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts. These draw men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some by longing for it have been led away from the faith. They have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:10

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some by longing for it have been led away from the faith. They have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:10-10

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some by longing for it have been led away from the faith. They have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But you, O man of God, run from these things. Pursue (set your heart on) righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness.

1 Timothy 6:11

11 But you, O man of God, run from these things. Pursue (set your heart on) righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith! Lay hold on everlasting life! You were called and confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

1 Timothy 6:12-12

12 Fight the good fight of the faith! Lay hold on everlasting life! You were called and confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses. 13 I charge you in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed the good confession:

1 Timothy 6:19

19 They store up for them a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life that is life indeed. 20 O Timothy, guard that which is committed to you. Turn away from the empty speeches that violate what is holy and from opposition and from false »knowledge.« 21 Some have professed this knowledge and erred concerning the faith. Grace be with you.

2 Timothy 1:2

2 to Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Timothy 1:6

6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God that is in you because of the laying on of my hands. 7 God has not given us a spirit of timidity (fear), but of power and love and discipline. 8 Do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me his prisoner. Join me in suffering for the good news according to the power of God.

2 Timothy 1:12

12 It is for this reason that I suffer these things. But I am still full of confidence, because I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to keep safe until that day what he has entrusted to me. 13 Hold firmly to the true words that I taught you, as the example for you to follow. Remain in the faith and love that are ours in union with Christ Jesus. 14 Through the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us. Keep (guard) (obey) (preserve) the good things that have been entrusted to you.

2 Timothy 1:16

16 The Lord grants mercy to the house of Onesiphorus: for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chains.

2 Timothy 2:3

3 You must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 2:10

10 For this reason I endure all things for the sake of the chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.

2 Timothy 2:14

14 Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to argue about words. This is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers.

2 Timothy 2:16

16 But avoid worldly and empty discussion, for it will lead to further ungodliness.

2 Timothy 2:20

20 Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor.

2 Timothy 2:23

23 But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing they produce quarrels (controversy) (fighting). 24 The Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind (gentle) to all, able to teach, and patient when wronged. 25 He should instruct those who oppose using meekness. Perhaps God will give them repentance that they may know the truth.

2 Timothy 3:7

7 They are constantly learning, and never able to grasp the knowledge of the truth.

2 Timothy 3:10

10 You carefully follow my teaching in conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, and patience, 11 and also persecutions and sufferings. The things that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured. Out of them the Lord delivered me.

2 Timothy 3:13

13 But evil men and impostors will become worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 Continue in the things you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.

2 Timothy 3:17

17 Thus the man of God may be completely equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 4:1

1 I solemnly charge you in the sight (presence) of God, and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:

2 Timothy 4:5

5 Be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist (preacher of the good news), and fulfill your ministry.

2 Timothy 4:7-8

7 I have fought the good fight! I have finished the course! I have kept the faith! 8 The crown of righteousness is laid up for me. The Lord, the righteous judge, will give it to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing (manifestation).

2 Timothy 4:10

10 For Demas forsook me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica. Crescens went to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

Hebrews 2:7

7 »You made him a little lower than the angels for a little while. (Greek: brachus, short time) (Psalm 8:4, 5) You crowned him with glory and honor, and set him over the works of your hands.

Hebrews 2:9

9 We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels and crowned with glory and honor for suffering death. By the grace of God he tasted death for every man.

Hebrews 2:17

17 This means that he had to become like his »brothers« in every way, in order to be their faithful and merciful High Priest in his service to God, in order to offer a propitiatory sacrifice (pay atonement) (to make reconciliation) for the sins of the people.

Hebrews 3:1

1 Holy brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus. 2 He was faithful to Him who appointed him, just as Moses was in His entire house.

Hebrews 3:2-6

2 He was faithful to Him who appointed him, just as Moses was in His entire house. 3 He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses. This is because the builder of the house has more honor than the house.

Hebrews 3:3-6

3 He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses. This is because the builder of the house has more honor than the house. 4 Every house has a builder. God is the builder of all things. 5 Indeed Moses was faithful in His house, as a ministering servant, for a testimony of the things to be spoken afterwards. 6 Christ was faithful as a Son over God’s house. We are His house if we hold on to our courage (confidence) and rejoice (speak boldly) about our hope until the end.

Hebrews 3:10

10 »I was disgusted (angry) with this generation, and said: ‘They always go astray in their hearts, and they have not known my ways.’

2 Thessalonians 3:3

3 But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

2 Thessalonians 3:6

6 Our friends, we command you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to keep away from all believers who walk disorderly and who do not follow the instructions that we gave them.

1 Timothy 1:2

2 to Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy, peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Timothy 1:4

4 They should not pay attention to myths and endless genealogies. These myths (false stories) (fabrications) and genealogies stimulate questions and speculation. They do not enhance the administration of God that is by faith. 5 But the objective is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith without hypocrisy. 6 Some have turned aside to vain talk by deviating from these things.

1 Timothy 1:11

11 Sound teaching (doctrine) is according to the good news of the glory of the blessed (happy) God. This was committed to my trust. 12 I thank him that enabled me and counted me faithful, appointing me to his service, Christ Jesus our Lord. 13 I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and a violent aggressor. I was shown mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 1:14

14 The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus. 15 Faithful is the saying, and worthy of acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.

1 Timothy 1:18

18 I entrust this command to you, Timothy, my son. It is in accordance with the prophecies that were previously made. They do apply to you, and with them you may fight the good fight. 19 Keep the faith and maintain a good conscience! Some have rejected these things and have suffered shipwreck to their faith. 20 Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander. I handed them over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme.

1 Timothy 2:4

4 It is God’s desire that all men have salvation and come to the full (precise) (accurate) (correct) knowledge (Greek: epignosis: recognition, discernment) of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:7

7 Because of this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle. What I say is true, not false, and I am a teacher of the nations in the true faith. 8 I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or argument.

1 Timothy 3:1

1 Faithful is the saying: If a man seeks the office of overseer, he desires a good work. 2 The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate in habits, sound in mind, orderly, hospitable, qualified to teach;

1 Timothy 3:2-3

2 The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate in habits, sound in mind, orderly, hospitable, qualified to teach; 3 not addicted to wine, not quarrelsome; but gentle, not contentious, no lover of money;

1 Timothy 3:3-3

3 not addicted to wine, not quarrelsome; but gentle, not contentious, no lover of money; 4 one who manages well his own house, having his children in subjection with all seriousness; 5 if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the congregation of God? 6 He should not be a new believer, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation of the Devil. 7 He must have a good reputation with those outside the congregation, so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the Devil.

1 Timothy 3:7

7 He must have a good reputation with those outside the congregation, so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the Devil. 8 Ministerial servants should likewise be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain. 9 They should maintain the secret of the faith with a clear conscience.

1 Timothy 3:15

15 though if I am delayed, so that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in the household of God, which is the congregation of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

2 Timothy 4:17

17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the people of the nations might hear. I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion (Satan the Devil) (great danger) (1 Peter 5:8) (Psalm 22:21) (1 Thessalonians 2:18).

Titus 1:1

1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's chosen ones, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness. 2 It is in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal.

Titus 1:5-9

5 I left you in Crete for this purpose, that you should correct the things that were defective, and appoint elders in every city, as I gave you orders. 6 A blameless man will be the husband of one wife. He will have children that believe and who are not accused of violence and disobedience. 7 The overseer must be blameless as God's steward. He must not be self-willed, not prone to anger, not a brawler, and not violent (quarrelsome) (pugnacious), not greedy of dishonest gain.

Titus 1:7

7 The overseer must be blameless as God's steward. He must not be self-willed, not prone to anger, not a brawler, and not violent (quarrelsome) (pugnacious), not greedy of dishonest gain. 8 but given to hospitality, as a lover of good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled; 9 holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to reprove (refute) (rebuke) those who contradict.

Titus 1:9

9 holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to reprove (refute) (rebuke) those who contradict.

Titus 1:11

11 They must be stopped. Their mouths must be shut up, for they subvert entire households. They teach things that should not be taught, for the sake of dishonest gain.

Titus 1:14

14 not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

Titus 2:11-14

11 For the grace (divine influence) of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present age (world) (period of time). 13 Look for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of the great God. And look for our Savior, Jesus Christ. 14 He (Jesus Christ) gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify a people for himself, who are special people, zealous for good works.

Titus 3:1

1 Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, and to be ready to do every good work, 2 to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men.

Titus 3:8

8 Faithful is the saying, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, to the end that they who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. 9 You should avoid foolish arguing and dissentions, questioning; and genealogies, and arguing about law, for they are unprofitable and vain.

Titus 3:9

9 You should avoid foolish arguing and dissentions, questioning; and genealogies, and arguing about law, for they are unprofitable and vain. 10 A divisive and dissentious man should be admonished, and after two times have nothing to do with that man. 11 You know that man sins and is perverted. He is self-condemned.

Titus 3:14

14 Help our people learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they are not unfruitful.

Hebrews 4:11

11 Let us do our utmost to enter into that rest. Let no one fall into the same pattern of disobedience by not obeying the word.

Hebrews 5:11-14

11 We have many things to say about him and it is hard to explain it to you, for you are dull of hearing (slow to learn). 12 At this time you should be teachers. But you need someone to teach you again from the beginning the elementary truths from the Word of God. You need milk, not solid food. 13 Everyone who drinks milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to mature people. It belongs to those who by reason of use have their senses trained to know the difference between good and evil.

Hebrews 6:15

15 After waiting patiently, Abraham received the promise.

Hebrews 6:18

18 God did this to offer encouragement so we may rely on the hope offered to us. We have taken refuge in that hope and it is impossible for God to lie. These two things can never be changed.

Hebrews 6:18-19

18 God did this to offer encouragement so we may rely on the hope offered to us. We have taken refuge in that hope and it is impossible for God to lie. These two things can never be changed. 19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of life. It is a hope that enters into the inner shrine behind the curtain.

Hebrews 7:4

4 See how great he was! Abraham the patriarch gave him a tenth of the spoils.

Hebrews 10:32

32 Remember the former days in which, after being enlightened, you endured great struggle with afflictions.

Hebrews 10:36

36 You need to persevere in order to do the will of God and receive what he promises.

Hebrews 11:10

10 He looked for the city having real foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Hebrews 11:27

27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king. He endured, by seeing him who is invisible.

Hebrews 12:2-3

2 Look to (consider without distractions) Jesus, the Leader (Predecessor) and Finisher (Perfecter) of our faith. He despised the shame. He endured the stake for the joy that was set before him. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such contrary talk by sinners against him. You should not get tired and give up in your mind (heart).

Hebrews 12:3

3 Consider him who endured such contrary talk by sinners against him. You should not get tired and give up in your mind (heart). 4 You have not yet resisted by shedding blood in your striving against sin.

Hebrews 12:14

14 Pursue peace and holiness with all people, for no man will see the Lord without it. 15 See that no one misses the grace of God; that no bitter root spring up to cause trouble and defile many.

Hebrews 13:7

7 Remember those who are taking the lead among you, men that spoke the Word of God to you. Consider their behavior and imitate their faith.

Hebrews 13:9

9 Do not be carried away by varied (different) and strange teachings. It is good that the heart is established by grace and not by food. Those who are occupied by them are not benefited.

James 1:1

1 This letter is from James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. Greetings to the twelve tribes that are scattered.

James 1:5

5 If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God. He gives to all generously and without reproach and it will be given to him.

James 1:12

12 The man who endures under trial is blessed. For when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him.

James 1:17

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. It comes down from the Father of lights (truth and spiritual purity), with whom there is no variation. He does not change like shifting shadows.

James 5:3

3 Your gold and your silver are rusted. Their corrosion will be for a testimony against you, and will eat your flesh like fire. You stored up your treasure in the last days.

James 5:19

19 My brothers, if any among you strays from the truth, and one brings him back,

1 Peter 1:7

7 The proof of your faith is more precious than gold that perishes. Though it is tested by fire, it may be found in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:13-19

13 Brace up your minds. Remain sober, and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 Live as children of obedience. Do not fashion yourself according to your former lusts, for you were ignorant at that time. 15 Be holy in all your conduct, just as the one who called you is holy. 16 Because it is written: »You shall be holy for I am holy.« 17 If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time you spend here in reverence. 18 Know that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers. [The redemption] was not with corruptible things like silver or gold, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the blood of Christ.

1 Peter 1:22

22 You have purified your hearts by obeying the truth. You have genuine affection for the brothers and sisters. So always love one another intensely (extremely) (deeply) from the heart.

1 Peter 2:5

5 You also as living stones are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:10

10 In time past you were no people, but now you are the people of God. You had not then received, but now have received mercy (compassion) (divine kindness). 11 Beloved, I request that you as aliens and strangers abstain from fleshly lust (desires), which causes conflict in you. 12 Maintain fine behavior among the nations. That way when they speak badly about you, they may see your good works and glorify God in the day of visitation (inspection).

1 Peter 2:14

14 or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do good.

2 Peter 1:6-10

6 Include self-control with your knowledge. Supply patience to your self-control. Your patience should be helped by godliness. 7 Add brotherly kindness to your godliness. And to your brotherly kindness add love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound in you they will keep you from being inactive or unfruitful regarding the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these qualities is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. 10 Brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election (choosing) sure. If you do (practice) (exercise) (apply) these things, you will never stumble!

2 Peter 1:10-10

10 Brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election (choosing) sure. If you do (practice) (exercise) (apply) these things, you will never stumble!

2 Peter 1:13

13 I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by reminding you.

2 Peter 1:15

15 I will be diligent so that every time after my departure you will remember these things.

2 Peter 2:2

2 Many will follow their lascivious (filthy sensual) deeds. The way of the truth will be maligned.

2 Peter 2:18

18 For, uttering arrogant words of vanity, they entice in the desires (lusts) of the flesh, by sensuality (lasciviousness), those who are just escaping from the ones who live in error.

2 Peter 2:18-20

18 For, uttering arrogant words of vanity, they entice in the desires (lusts) of the flesh, by sensuality (lasciviousness), those who are just escaping from the ones who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, while they are bondservants of corruption. A man is brought into bondage by one and enslaved by another. 20 After they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled and overcome; the last state is worse with them than the first.

2 Peter 2:20-20

20 After they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled and overcome; the last state is worse with them than the first.

2 Peter 3:14

14 Seeing that you anticipate these things, be diligent that you may be found in peace, without spot and blameless in his sight.

2 Peter 3:18

18 Grow in the unmerited favor and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

James 1:18

18 Using his own will, he gave us birth through the word of truth. This way we would be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. 19 You know this, my beloved brothers. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. 20 The anger of man does not promote the righteousness of God.

James 3:15

15 This wisdom is not a wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and devilish.

James 3:17

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable (yielding), full of mercy and good fruits, without discord (partiality), without hypocrisy.

James 4:2

2 You lust, and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain! You fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask.

1 Peter 3:8

8 Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, brotherly, tenderhearted, and humble.

1 Peter 3:11

11 Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.

1 Peter 3:15

15 Sanctify the Christ as Lord (kurios: master) in your hearts. Always be ready to answer every man who asks you a reason for your hope, yet with meekness (mildness) and respect! 16 Keep a good conscience. When you are spoken against, those who revile your good manner of life in Christ may be put to shame.

1 Peter 4:13-16

13 As much as you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy. 14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 Let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a meddler in other people’s business.

1 Peter 4:15-16

15 Let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a meddler in other people’s business. 16 If a man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.

1 Peter 5:4

4 When the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.

1 Peter 5:10

10 After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will perfect, establish, and strengthen you.

2 Peter 1:4-10

4 He offered us his precious and exceedingly great promises. Through these you may become partakers of the divine nature. You will escape from the corruption that is in the lust-filled world. 5 Yes, for this very reason you do your part with all diligence. Supply virtue to your faith. Add knowledge to your virtue.

1 John 2:19

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us. If they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they went out that it made it plain that they all are not of us.

1 John 2:22-23

22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, even he who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.

1 John 3:3

3 Everyone who has this hope in him is purified. He is pure.

1 John 3:7-10

7 My little children let no man deceive you! He who practices righteousness is righteous, even as he [Christ] is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil. For the devil sinned from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was made known (manifested), that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever is born of God does not practice sin! His seed abides in him and he cannot sin because he has been born of God. 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not from God. He who does not love his brother is not from God.

Revelation 1:6

6 He made us to be a kingdom of kings and priests to his God and Father. To him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 2:10-13

10 »'Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil (false accuser) (Devil) is about to throw you into prison, that you may be tested. You will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful even if you must die, and I will give you the crown of life.

Revelation 2:10

10 »'Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil (false accuser) (Devil) is about to throw you into prison, that you may be tested. You will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful even if you must die, and I will give you the crown of life. 11 »'He who can hear should listen to what the Spirit says to the congregations. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.' 12 »To the angel of the congregation in Pergamum write: These are the words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword: 13 »'I know where you live and where the throne of Satan is. You cling to my name and have not denied my faith, even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness. He was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

Revelation 2:13

13 »'I know where you live and where the throne of Satan is. You cling to my name and have not denied my faith, even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness. He was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

Revelation 3:8

8 »'I know your works (deeds) (acts). Pay attention, I set before you an open door, and no man can shut it: for you have a little strength, and have kept my word, and have not denied my name.

Revelation 3:11

11 »'I come quickly: hold fast what you have so that no one will take your crown.

Revelation 13:14

14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles he had power to do in the sight of the beast. He says to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast that had the wound by a sword and yet lives.

Revelation 17:8

8 »The beast that you saw was, and is not. It will ascend out of the pit and go into destruction. They who dwell on the earth will wonder, those whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Revelation 20:2-3

2 He seized the dragon, the old serpent that is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He hurled him into the bottomless pit, and shut it and sealed it over him. He could not deceive the nations anymore till the thousand years ended. After that he must be let loose for a little while. 4 I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I also saw the people who were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image. They had not received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands. They lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

20 We know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding. We know him that is true for we are in him who is true, [and] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and everlasting life.

3 John 1:11

11 Beloved, do not imitate that which is evil, but that which is good. He who does good is from God. He who does evil has not seen God.

Jude 1:3

3 Beloved, I diligently wrote you about our common salvation. I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the holy ones. 4 Certain men crept in unnoticed. They were appointed long ago for this condemnation. These ungodly men turned the grace of our God into loose conduct. They deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
