³ He said to me: »You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will show my glory.«

²¹ »I have formed these people for myself. They will praise me.

²³ »Shout for joy, you heavens! Shout, deep places of the earth! Shout for joy, mountains, and every tree of the forest! Jehovah has shown his greatness by saving his people Israel.«

¹³ My servant will act wisely. He will be raised, lifted up and highly exalted.

¹⁰ It was Jehovah’s will to allow him to be crushed. Even though Jehovah makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of Jehovah will prosper in his hand.

¹ Here is my servant, whom I have strengthened. Here is the one I have chosen, with whom I am pleased. I have filled him with my Spirit, and he will bring justice to every nation.

⁸ »’Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who sit before you. They are men that are a sign. I will bring forth my servant the Branch (Sprout)!

⁵ While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them. A voice came out of the cloud, saying: »This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.«

¹⁰ The angel spoke to them: »Do not be afraid. Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy to all the people. ¹¹ »Christ (Messiah) the Lord, a Savior, is born this day in the city of David. ¹² »This is the sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger.« ¹³ Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly hosts praising God, and saying: ¹⁴ »Glory to God in the highest. Peace on earth among men with whom he is pleased.«

²⁸ »Father, glorify your name.« A voice came from heaven: »I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.«

³¹ When he was gone Jesus said: »Now the Son of man is glorified (praised) (exulted) (proclaimed) (honored) and God is glorified through him. ³² »If God is glorified through him, God will also immediately glorify him.

⁸ »My Father is glorified when you bear much fruit. You will be my disciples.

¹ Jesus spoke these things and lifted up his eyes to heaven. He said: »Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that the son may glorify you.

⁴ »I glorified you on the earth. I accomplished the work you gave me to do.

⁶ This is to the praise of the glory of his kindness, with which he freely honored us, the loved ones.

⁶ He existed in the form (shape and nature) of God but did not try to be equal with God. He did not even consider it! ⁷ He emptied (humbled) himself by taking the form of a servant. He was made in the likeness of men. ⁸ He obtained the appearance as a man, humbled himself, and became obedient even to death, yes, death on the stake. ⁹ For this reason God highly exalted him, and gave to him the name that is above every name, (Relative authority given by Jehovah God, the Father to His Son) (Philipians 2:11) ¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁹ You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people for God’s own possession, that you may show the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
