¹³ They are wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame. They are wandering stars, for which the black darkness has been reserved forever.

⁷ He stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples.

³ The floods have lifted up, O Jehovah, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their pounding waves. ⁴ Jehovah on high is mightier than the noise of many waters. Yes he is mightier than the mighty waves of the sea.

²⁰ But the wicked are like the troubled and restless sea, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

²² »Do you not reverence (respect) me?« Asks Jehovah. »Do you not tremble [with awe] in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, a permanent barrier it cannot cross. Although the waves toss continuously, they cannot break through. Although they roar, they cannot cross it. ²³ »These people are stubborn and rebellious. They have turned aside and departed from me.

¹⁹ Their end is destruction. Their god is their belly. Their glory is in their shame. They set their mind on earthly things.

¹³ But evil men and impostors will become worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

¹⁷ These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm, for whom the gloom of darkness has been reserved.

¹⁰ »the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of his indignation. He will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. ¹¹ »The smoke of their torment will ascend forever and ever. They who worship the beast and his image and receive the mark of his name have no rest day or night.

¹⁰ The devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are, and will be tormented day and night forever.

⁸ »But the fearful and unbelieving, abominable and murderers, fornicators and those practicing spiritism, idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur: which is the second death.«

¹⁰ The third angel blew his trumpet. A great star burning like a lamp fell from heaven. It fell upon a third of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters. ¹¹ The star is called Wormwood (Calamity) (Bitterness): and a third of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
