1 The feast of unleavened bread was near. This is called the Passover.
2 The chief priests and the scribes searched for a way to put him to death. But they feared the people.
3 Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot. He was one of the twelve.
4 He went away to discuss with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver Jesus to them.
5 They were glad, and pledged to give him money.
6 He consented and looked for a way to deliver him to them in the absence of the crowd.
7 The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.
8 Jesus sent Peter and John, saying: »Go make everything ready that we may eat the Passover.«
9 They asked him: »Where do you want us to get ready?«
10 He said: »When you enter the city a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house.
11 »Say to the master of the house: The teacher says; ‘where is the guest chamber where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples?’
12 »He will show you a large furnished upper room. Make it ready.«
13 They found things as he described them and they made things ready for the Passover.
14 When it was time he sat down with the apostles.
15 He said to them: »I have earnestly wanted to eat this Passover with you before I die.
16 »I tell you I will not eat it again until it takes place in the kingdom of God.«
17 He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said: »Take this, and share it among yourselves.
18 »I say to you, I shall not drink from the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God comes.«
19 He gave thanks. Then he took the bread, broke it and gave it to them, saying: »This represents my body that is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.«
20 Then he took the cup saying: »This represents the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
21 »Look, he who betrays me is at the table.
22 »The Son of man indeed goes, as it has been determined. But woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!«
23 They questioned among themselves, which of them would do this thing.
24 Contention grew between them concerning which of them was the greatest.
25 He told them: »The kings of the nations have lordship over them. Those who have authority over them are called Benefactors.
26 »But you should not be this way. He who is the greater among you let him become as the younger. He that is chief among you is he who serves.
27 »Which is greater, he who sits and eats or he who serves? Is it he who sits and eats? However I am in the midst of you as he who serves.
28 »You have continued with me in my temptations.
29 »I assigned a kingdom to you just as my Father assigned it to me.
30 »Just as you eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 »Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat.
32 »I prayed for you that your faith would not fail. Once you have turned again strengthen your brothers.«
33 He said: »Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death.«
34 Jesus said: »I tell you Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until you deny that you know me three times.«
35 Speaking to them he asked: »When I sent you out without purse, and wallet, and shoes, did you lack anything?« They said: »Nothing.«
36 Now he said: »Take your purse and wallet. If you do not have a sword sell your cloak and buy one.
37 »I tell you that which is written must be fulfilled in me. He was numbered with transgressors for that which concerns me has fulfillment.«
38 They said: »Lord, here are two swords.« And he said to them: »It is enough.«
39 He went to the Mount of Olives as was his custom and the disciples also followed him.
40 When he arrived he said to them: »Pray that you do not enter into temptation.«
41 He went a short distance from them and kneeled down and prayed.
42 He prayed: »Father if it is your will remove this cup from me, nevertheless not my will, but your will be done.«
43 An angel came to him and gave him strength.
44 (possible spurious text) He was in agony and earnestly prayed. His sweat became, as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.
45 When he finished his prayer he went to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of their sorrow.
46 He said: »Why do you sleep? Arise and pray that you do not enter into temptation.«
47 As he spoke a crowd followed Judas, one of the twelve. They came to him. Judas approached Jesus and kissed him.
48 Jesus said to him: »Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss?«
49 Those near him saw what happened and asked: »Lord shall we strike them with a sword?«
50 One of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
51 Jesus said: »Do not do any more of this.« Then he touched his ear and healed him.
52 Jesus spoke to the chief priests, captains of the temple and elders who came against him: »Did you come as you would against a robber with swords and clubs?
53 »I was with you every day in the temple. Yet you did not lift a hand against me. This is your hour for this power of darkness.«
54 They seized him and led him away. They took him to the high priest’s house. Peter followed from a distance.
55 They kindled a fire in the midst of the court. They sat down together. Peter sat in the midst of them.
56 A servant girl saw him sitting by the light of the fire. She looked steadfastly upon him and said: »This man was also with him.«
57 He denied it saying: »Woman, I do not know him!«
58 After a little while another saw him, and said: »You are one of them.« Peter replied: »Man I am not!«
59 Another hour passed. Someone else said: »It is true this man was with him for he is a Galilean.«
60 Peter responded: »I do not know what you are talking about!« Immediately, while he spoke he heard the cockcrow.
61 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him: »Before the cockcrow this day you will deny me three times.«
62 He left there and wept bitterly.
63 The men that held Jesus mocked him and beat him.
64 They blindfolded him, and asked him, saying: »Prophesy: who is it that struck you?«
65 They reviled him and spoke many things against him.
66 The next day the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together. They included chief priests and scribes. They led him away to their council, saying:
67 »If you are the Christ, tell us.« But he said to them: »If I tell you, you will not believe:
68 and if I ask you, you will not answer.«
69 »Soon the Son of man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.«
70 They all asked: »Are you the Son of God?« He said to them: »You say that I am.«
71 They responded: »What further need do we have for witnesses? We have heard this from his mouth.«

5 O God, you know my foolishness. My sins are not hidden from you.

20 Reproach has broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness. I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; for comforters, but I found none.
21 They also gave me gall for my food. In my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table before them become a snare. Let it become retribution and a trap.
23 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see. Let their backs be continually bent.
24 Pour out your indignation on them. Let the fierceness of your anger overtake them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate and let no one live in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom you have wounded. They tell of the sorrow of those whom you have hurt.
27 Charge them with crime upon crime. Do not let them come into your righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous.
29 I am in pain and distress. O God, Let your salvation protect me.
30 I will praise the name of God with a song. I will magnify him with thanksgiving.
31 It will please Jehovah better than an ox of bull that has horns and hoofs.
32 The humble have seen it and are glad. And you, who seek after God, let your heart live.

1 ([Sons of Korah]) O Jehovah, God of my salvation I cry out to you day and night.
2 Let my prayer come before your presence. Turn your ear to hear my cries.
3 I am filled with troubles, and my life comes closer to the grave.
4 I am numbered with those who go into the pit. I am like a man without any strength.
5 I am abandoned with the dead, like those who have been killed and lie in graves. I am like those whom you no longer remember, who are cut off from your hand (power) (care).
6 You have put me in the bottom of the pit, in deep dark places.
7 Your rage lies heavily on me. You afflict me with all your waves.
8 You have taken my friends far away from me. You made me disgusting to them. I am shut in, and I cannot get out.
9 My eyes grow weak because of my suffering. All day long I call out to you, O Jehovah. I stretch out my hands to you in prayer.
10 Will you perform miracles for those who are dead? Will the dead rise and give thanks to you?
11 Will anyone tell about your loving kindness in the grave or about your faithfulness after they parish?
12 Will anyone know about your miracles in that dark place or about your righteousness (mercy) in the place of destruction?
13 I cry out to you for help, O Jehovah, and in the morning my prayer will come before you.
14 Why do you reject me, O Jehovah? Why do you hide your face from me (turn from me)?
15 Ever since I was young, I have been suffering and near death. I have endured your terrors, and now I am in despair.
16 Your burning anger has swept over me. Your terrors have destroyed me.
17 They swirl around me all day long like water. They surround me on all sides.
18 You have taken my loved ones and friends far away from me. Darkness is my only friend!

8 Let his days be few in number. Let someone else take his place.
9 Let his children become fatherless and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children wander around and beg. Let them seek help far from their ruined homes.
11 Let a creditor take everything he owns. Let strangers steal what he has worked for.
12 Let no one be kind to him anymore. Let no one show any pity to his fatherless children.
13 Let his descendants be cut off and their family name be wiped out by the next generation.

1 THIS IS THE PEOPHESY ABOUT THE MESSIAH. Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm (power) of Jehovah been revealed?
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him. Nothing in his appearance will make us desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men. He was a man of sorrows familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised. We did not consider him to be worth much.
Isaiah 53:3
3 He was despised and rejected by men. He was a man of sorrows familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised. We did not consider him to be worth much.
4 He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. We considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions! He was crushed for our iniquities! The punishment that brought us peace was upon him. There has been healing for us because of his wounds.
6 We are all like sheep. We have gone astray! Each of us has turned to his own way. Jehovah has caused the iniquity (sin) of all of us to be laid on him.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted and yet he did not open his mouth. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. He was silent like sheep ready to be sheared. He did not open his mouth.
8 He was oppressed, judged and taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? He was removed from the land of the living. He was destroyed because of the transgression of my people.
9 He was buried like a criminal in a rich mans grave. He had done no wrong, nor was any deceit in his mouth.

17 Because of the iniquity of his covetousness gain I was angry and struck him. I hid and was angry. He went on backsliding in the way of his heart (his heart directed course of life).

19 The disciples did as Jesus told them, to get ready for the Passover.

39 They said: »We are able.« Jesus replied: »The cup that I drink you will drink; and with the baptism that I am baptized you will be baptized.

8 Peter said: »You will never wash my feet.« Jesus answered him: »If I do not wash you; you have no part with me.«
9 Simon Peter replied: »Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.«
10 Jesus responded: »He that is bathed must wash his feet. He is clean everywhere and you are clean, but not all.«
11 He knew who would betray him. That is why he said you are not all clean.
12 After he washed their feet he put his outer garments on and sat down. He asked: »Do you know what I have done to you?

16 The cup of blessing we bless, is it not the sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread we break, is it not the sharing of the body of Christ?
17 For we being many are one-bread and one-body. We are all partakers of that one bread.
18 Is physical Israel the ones who eat the sacrifices, the partakers of the altar?
19 What do I mean? That the idol is anything, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything?
20 But I say, that the things that the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God. I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.
21 You cannot drink the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons. You cannot be partakers of the Jehovah's Table and of the table of demons. (Malachi 1:12)

33 Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals.
2 Corinthians 1:4-6
4 He comforts us in all our trouble, that we may be able to comfort those who also have trouble, through the comfort with which we are comforted from God.

6 If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort. It works through patience and longsuffering and is the same sufferings that we also suffer.
7 Our hope for you is steadfast; knowing that, as you are partakers of the sufferings, so you also partake of the comfort.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7 I was given a painful physical ailment that will keep me from being puffed up with pride because of the many wonderful things I saw. It acts as Satan's messenger to beat me and keep me from being proud.
8 Three times I prayed to God about this and asked him to take it away.
9 He told me: »My grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness.« Most gladly therefore, I would rather glory in my infirmities (frailities), that the power of Christ may rest upon me (cover me like a tent) (descend upon me) (abide with me). (Isaiah 40:29-31)
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Ephesians 6:12
12 Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places.
13 For that reason, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, having done everything, to stand firm.
14 Stand firm therefore and gird your loins with truth. Put on the breastplate of righteousness.
15 Shod your feet with the preparation of the good news of peace.
16 Also take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 With prayer and supplication pray at all times in the Spirit. Watch with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones.

14 The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

6 Jesus has obtained a more excellent ministry. The covenant that he arranged between God and his people is a better one, because it is based on promises of better things.
7 If there had been nothing wrong with the first covenant, there would not have been a need for a second one.
8 God finds fault with his people and said to them: »‘The time is coming,’ says Jehovah, ‘when I will draw up a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. (Jeremiah 31:31)
