⁵ Jehovah told Balaam: »Go back to Balak and give him my message.«

²⁰ That night God came to Balaam and said: »If these men have come to summon you, go with them, but do only what I tell you.«

³⁵ But the angel said: »Go on with these men, but say only what I tell you to say.« Thus Balaam went on with them.

¹⁶ Jehovah met Balaam and told him what to say. He sent him back to Balak to give him his message.

¹⁸ »‘I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you. I will put my words in his mouth. He will speak to them all that I command him.

²¹ »This is my promise to them,«says Jehovah. »My Spirit is on you and my words that I put in your mouth will not leave you. They will be with your children and your grandchildren permanently,« says Jehovah

⁹ Then Jehovah stretched out his hand and touched my mouth. Jehovah said to me: »I have put my words in your mouth.

¹² »Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you should say.«

⁵¹ He did not say this from his own understanding. As high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation.
