⁷ »Who is there like Job, who drinks up scoffing like water?

¹ Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of the scornful mockers.

⁸ Pay attention, you stupid (senseless) people! When will you become wise, you fools?

²⁹ »You have no use for knowledge and you refuse to respect Jehovah.

³⁴ He has no use for conceited people. He shows loving kindness to the humble.

¹² You say: »How I have hated instruction! My heart despised reproof.

⁹ How long will you sleep, O lazy person? When will you arise from your sleep?

⁷ I saw among the simple ones, I discerned among the youth, a young man without understanding.

⁵ »O you simple ones, understand wisdom and, you fools, be of an understanding heart.

⁶ A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it. Knowledge is easy to him who discerns.

²⁹ Penalties are prepared for mockers, and beatings for the back of fools.

¹¹ When the scoffer is punished the simple (naïve) is made wise. When the wise is instructed he gains knowledge.

¹² A scoffer hates the one who reproves him. He will not go to the wise.

²⁹ »Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me. I am meek (mild) and humble in heart. You will have a restful life, ³⁰ »for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.«
