¹ ([Psalm of David]) Hear my plea for justice, O Jehovah. Pay attention to my cry. Open your ears to my prayer, spoken without deceit. ² Let the verdict of my innocence come directly from you. Let your eyes observe what is right. ³ You have probed my heart. You have confronted me at night. You have tested me like silver, but you found nothing wrong. I have decided that my mouth will not sin. ⁴ I have avoided cruelty because of your word regardless of what others have done. ⁵ My steps have remained firmly in your paths. My feet have not slipped. ⁶ I have called on you because you answer me, O God. Turn your ear toward me. Listen to what I have to say. ⁷ Reveal your miraculous deeds of loving-kindness, O Savior of those who find refuge by your side from those who attack them. ⁸ Keep me as if I were the pupil (apple) of your eye (center of attention). Hide me in the shadow of your wings. ⁹ Hide me from wicked people who violently attack me, from my deadly enemies who surround me. ¹⁰ They have no feeling. Their mouths have spoken arrogantly. ¹¹ They have surrounded me. They have focused their attention on throwing me to the ground. ¹² Each one of them is like a lion eager to tear its prey apart and like a young lion crouching in hiding places. ¹³ Arise, O Jehovah and confront them! Bring them to their knees! With your sword rescue my life from the wicked. ¹⁴ With your power (by your hand) rescue me from mortals, O Jehovah, from mortals who look forward only to this life. You fill their bellies with your treasure. Their children are satisfied with it, and they leave what remains to their children. ¹⁵ I will see your face (be in your presence) when I am declared righteous. When I wake up, I will be satisfied to see (perceive) (comprehend) you.

²⁶ Then God said: »Let us make man in our image, in our likeness. Let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground.« ²⁷ God created man in his own image. But he put his armor in his tent. ⁵⁵ When Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he asked Abner the commander of the army: »Abner, whose son is this young man?« Abner said: »By your life, O king, I do not know.« ⁵⁶ The king said: »Find out whose son the young man is.« ⁵⁷ When David returned from killing the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the Philistine’s head in his hand.

⁶ Many are saying: »Who will show us good?« Lift up the light of your countenance (face) (presence) upon us, O Jehovah! ⁷ You will put gladness (joy) in my heart. It will be more than when their grain and new wine abound.

⁷ But as for me, by your abundant loving kindness I will enter your house. At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence of you.

¹¹ But let all who take refuge in you rejoice. Let them ever sing for joy because you defend them. Let those who love your name exult in you. ¹² You bless the righteous man, O Jehovah. You surround him with favor as with a shield.

¹ ([Psalm of David]) The fool says in his heart: »There is no God (Jehovah) (Psalm 10:4).« They are corrupt. They do disgusting things. No one does good things. ² Jehovah looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there is anyone who acts wisely, if there is anyone who seeks help from God. ³ Everyone has turned away. Together they have become rotten to the core. No one, not even one person, does good things.

⁷ I will praise Jehovah for he advises me. My conscience (inner self) instructs me at night.

We do not present our supplications before you because of our righteous merits, but according to your many mercies. ¹⁹ »O Jehovah, hear; O Jehovah, forgive; O Jehovah, pay attention and act! Do not delay for your own sake, O my God! Because your city and your people are called by your name.«

¹ »Woe to those who devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning comes they do it because they are able to (it is in the power of their hands).

¹² You are from everlasting, O Jehovah my God, my Holy One, You are eternal. O Jehovah, you have appointed them (the Chaldean) to execute judgment. You, O Rock, have established them for correction.

⁸ »Jehovah of Hosts proclaims: ‘He sent me after glory! He sent me to the nations that plundered you. For he that touches you touches the pupil of his eye.’

⁹ »I will bring the third part into the fire. I will refine them, as silver is refined, and I will test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say: ‘It is my people!’ They will say: ‘Jehovah is my God!«’

² »Who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? He is like a refiner's fire and like laundry soap (the lye of laundrymen).

⁹ Paul had a vision that night. In it he saw a Macedonian standing and pleading with him, »Come over to Macedonia and help us!«

⁹ The Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision: »Do not be afraid, but speak. Do not keep silent! ¹⁰ »I am with you and no man will harm you. I have many people in this city.«

²⁷ ‘»These people have closed their mind and are hard of hearing. They have shut their eyes so that their eyes never see. Their ears never hear. Their minds never understand. They never turn to me for healing.’

²⁰ The law came that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased God’s loving kindness increased even more. ²¹ And what for? Just as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

³ You are still fleshly! There is envy, strife, and divisions among you. Do you not walk as ordinary men?

⁴ I know nothing against myself. Yet this does not acquit me, but he that judges me is God.

¹² This is our pride and testimony of conscience. In holiness and Godly sincerity we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you. It was not by fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God.

¹⁸ We all, with unveiled face, behold as in a mirror the glory of God and are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, exactly as from God’s Spirit.

²¹ Christ will, through his power, bring everything under his authority. He will change our humble bodies and make them like his glorified (glorious) body (literally and figuratively: body of his glory). He is able to subject all things to himself.

¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

⁶ It is a righteous thing for God to repay with affliction (great suffering and distress) those who afflict you. ⁷ You who are afflicted rest with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire. ⁸ They will render vengeance to those who do not know God, and to those who do not obey the good news of our Lord Jesus. ⁹ They will suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the Lord and from the glory of his might.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the people of the nations might hear. I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion (Satan the Devil) (great danger) (1 Peter 5:8) (Psalm 22:21) (1 Thessalonians 2:18).

⁵ You lived in luxury on the earth, and take your pleasure; you nourished your hearts in a day of slaughter.

⁷ The proof of your faith is more precious than gold that perishes. Though it is tested by fire, it may be found in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ For, uttering arrogant words of vanity, they entice in the desires (lusts) of the flesh, by sensuality (lasciviousness), those who are just escaping from the ones who live in error.

¹⁸ Using his own will, he gave us birth through the word of truth. This way we would be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

² We all stumble in many things. If any do not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able to restrain (control) the whole body.

² From now on you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God’s will and not by human desires (lusts). ³ You have spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols (false gods).

⁸ Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walks about, seeking whom he may devour (consume).

² Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that when he is revealed we will be like him. We will see him just as he is. ³ Everyone who has this hope in him is purified. He is pure.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us we have confidence toward God.

⁴ You are of God, my little children. You have overcome them because he that is in you is greater than he that is in the world. ⁵ They are from the world. They speak that which is from the world and the world listens to them.

²⁴ Now to him that is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish with exceeding joy.

¹¹ They conquered (overcame) him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives when faced with death.

⁵ A mouth speaking great things and blasphemies was given to the beast. And authority to act was given to him to continue forty-two months. ⁶ He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, to slander his name, and his dwelling place, and those who live in heaven.

³ They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: »Great and marvelous are your works, Jehovah God, the Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of the ages (Eternal King) (King of the nations) (King of the holy ones). (Deuteronomy 31:30; 32:4) (Exodus 6:3)

³ Then I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying: »Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men. He will dwell with them and they will be his people! God will be with them, and be their God. ⁴ »God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death. There will be no more sorrow nor crying. There will be no more pain! The former things have passed away.«

²³ The city did not need the sun or the moon to shine on it. For the glory of God and of the Lamb was its light.

¹⁶ »They will hunger no more, nor thirst any more; neither shall the sunlight beat down on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ »The Lamb who is in the middle of the throne will feed them and lead them to living fountains of water. God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.«

¹¹ The angel of the bottomless pit was their king. His name in the Hebrew language is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.
