¹³ In that same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand men were slain in the earthquake, and the survivors were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁴ The NEPHILIM were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God had sexual intercourse with the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

¹⁹ Joshua said to Achan: »My son, give glory to Jehovah God of Israel and confess to him. Tell me now what you have done. Do not hide it from me.«

⁵ »You must make these models of the tumors and of the mice that are ravaging your country. You must give honor to the God of Israel. Perhaps he will stop punishing you, your gods, and your land.

¹⁵ You have enlarged the nation, O Jehovah; you have enlarged the nation. You have gained glory for yourself. You have extended all the borders of the land. ¹⁶ Jehovah, they came to you in their distress. When you disciplined them, they could barely whisper a prayer.

¹⁶ Give glory to Jehovah your God before he brings darkness and before your feet stumble on the dusky mountains. You hope for light. He makes it into deep darkness and turns it into gloom.

² »You must honor me by your actions. If you will not listen to what I say, and give glory and honor to my name, I will bring a curse on you. I will put a curse on the things you receive for your support. I have already put a curse on you. Your blessings are cursed already because you do not take my command seriously.

¹⁵ In these days Peter stood up among the brothers (about a hundred and twenty), and said:

⁴ »'You have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled (defiled) their garments. They will walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

¹² When he opened the sixth seal I saw a great earthquake. The sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon became like blood.

⁵ The angel took the incense vessel, and filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it to the earth. There were voices, and thundering and lightning, and an earthquake.

⁹ A third of the living creatures in the sea died. And a third of the ships were destroyed. ¹⁰ The third angel blew his trumpet. A great star burning like a lamp fell from heaven. It fell upon a third of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters. ¹¹ The star is called Wormwood (Calamity) (Bitterness): and a third of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter. ¹² The fourth angel blew his trumpet. A third of the sun was struck. A third of the moon, and a third of the stars were darkened. The illumination of both day and night was cut by one third.

¹¹ After three and a half days the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet. Great fear fell upon all who saw them.

¹⁹ The temple of God was opened in heaven. There was seen in his temple the ark of his covenant. And there were lightnings and voices and thunder and an earthquake and great hail.

¹ The dragon stood on the shore by the sea. I saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns. His horns had ten crowns on them. Blasphemous names were on his heads. ² The beast I saw looked like a leopard. His feet were like the feet of a bear. His mouth was like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power, his throne, and great authority. ³ One of his heads appeared to have had a fatal wound. His fatal wound had healed, and the entire world followed the beast with admiration.

⁷ He spoke in a loud voice: »Respect God, and give him glory! The hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.«

⁴ »Who will not reverence you, Jehovah, and glorify your name, for only you are holy. All nations will come and worship you. Your righteous judgments are clearly apparent.«

⁹ Men were scorched with great heat. They blasphemed the name of God, who has power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory. ¹⁰ Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast; and his kingdom became full of darkness. And they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. ¹¹ They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains, but they did not repent.

¹⁸ There were voices, and thunders, and lightnings. There was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. ¹⁹ The great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. God remembered Babylon the Great. He gave her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his anger (wrath).
