²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that, though thou didst hide these things from the wise and discerning, thou didst reveal them to babes.

¹⁹ For those days will be a time of distress, such as hath not been from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, nor shall be.

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made through him; and without him was nothing made that hath been made.

²⁴ And on hearing it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art he that made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are in them;

¹⁵ and saying, Men, why do ye these things? We also are men of like nature with you, bringing to you glad tidings, that ye may turn from these vanities to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are therein;

²⁴ The God who made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

¹⁹ Because that which may be known of God is manifest within them; for God made it manifest to them. ²⁰ For, ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes, even his eternal power and divinity, being perceived from his works, are clearly seen, so that they might be without excuse.

³⁶ For from him, and through him, and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.

⁶ yet to us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we to him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him.

⁹ to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery, which hath been hidden for ages in God, who created all things;

¹⁶ for in him were created all things, those in the heavens, and those on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers, all things have been created through him and for him; ¹⁷ and he is before all things, and in him all things subsist.

² hath at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, by whom he also made the worlds,

¹⁰ And: "Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst found the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands.

⁴ For every house is builded by some one; but he who built all things is God.

³ Through faith we perceive that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that that which is seen hath not been made out of things which appear.

⁵ For of this they are willingly ignorant, that of old by the word of God there were heavens, and an earth formed out of the water and by the water,

¹ That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we looked upon, and our hands handled, concerning the word of life,

¹⁴ And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:

¹¹ Worthy art thou, O Lord, and our God, to receive the glory, and the honor, and the power; for thou didst create all things, and on account of thy will they were, and were created.

⁶ and swore by him who liveth for ever and ever, who created the heaven, and the things therein, and the earth and the things therein, and the sea, and the things therein, that there should be no longer delay;

⁷ saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment is come; and worship him that made the heaven, and the earth, and sea, and fountains of waters.

⁶ And he said to me, All things are accomplished. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To him that thirsteth I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely.

¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

³ And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

⁵ And the light hath been shining in the darkness; and the darkness received it not.

⁹ The true light, which enlighteneth every man, was coming into the world.

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that the light hath come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil.

⁴³ And having thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth!

⁶ For it is God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, that shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

⁸ For ye were once darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

¹⁴ Wherefore he saith, "Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give thee light."

¹⁶ who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no man hath seen, or can see; to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

⁵ And this is the message which we have heard from him, and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

⁸ Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in him, and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light now shineth.

¹³ the work of every one will be made manifest; for the day will show it; because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will prove what every ones work is.

¹³ But all things, when reproved, are made manifest by the light; for whatever maketh manifest is light.

⁵ for ye all are sons of light, and sons of the day; we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

²⁷ And the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the waves obey him?

¹⁰ And already is the axe lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that beareth not good fruit is to be cut down, and cast into the fire.

³⁰ And if God so clothes the herbage of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into an oven, will he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

¹⁶ Ye may know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? ¹⁷ So every good tree beareth good fruit; but a bad tree beareth bad fruit. ¹⁸ A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor call a bad tree bear good fruit. ¹⁹ Every tree that beareth not good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire. ²⁰ So then ye may know them by their fruits.

²⁸ For the earth brings forth fruit of itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.

⁴³ For there is no good tree that beareth bad fruit; and again, there is no bad tree that beareth good fruit. ⁴⁴ For every tree is known by its own fruit; for from thorns men do not gather figs, nor from a bramblebush do they gather grapes.

⁷ For the earth which hath drunk in the rain that cometh often upon it, and beareth plants useful to those for whose sake it is tilled, receiveth blessing from God;

¹² Can a figtree, my brethren, bear olives, or a vine, figs? Neither can salt water yield fresh.

²⁴ Another parable he put forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. ²⁵ But while men slept, his enemy came, and sowed tares among the wheat; and went away. ²⁶ But when the blade grew up, and put forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

⁴⁴ For every tree is known by its own fruit; for from thorns men do not gather figs, nor from a bramblebush do they gather grapes.

¹⁰ Now, he that ministereth seed to the sower, and bread for food, will supply and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;

⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap;

² saying, Where is the king of the Jews that hath been born? for we saw his star in the East, and came to do him homage.

² And he answering said to them, When it is evening, ye say, Fair weather! for the sky is red. ³ And in the morning, A storm today! for the sky is red and lowering. Ye know how to judge of the face of the sky, and can ye not discern the signs of the times?

²⁹ And immediately after the distress of those days will the sun be darkened, and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

²⁴ But in those days, after that distress, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light;

²⁵ And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and waves; ²⁶ mens hearts failing them from fear, and from looking for those things which are coming on the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

⁴⁵ the sun having failed; and the veil of the temple was rent in two.

¹⁹ And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; ²⁰ the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord cometh, the great and notable day.

¹² And I saw when he had opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood,

¹² And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night in like manner.

² and he opened the pit of the abyss. And there went up a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

⁴⁵ And from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land, until the ninth hour.

⁴¹ There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory.

⁸ And the fourth poured out his vial upon the sun; and it was given to it to scorch men with fire; ⁹ and men were scorched with great heat. And men blasphemed the name of God, who had the power over these plagues; and they repented not, to give him glory.

²³ And the city hath no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine upon it; for the glory of God lightened it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

⁴⁷ For thus hath the Lord commanded us: "I have set thee to be a light of the gentiles, that thou mayst bring salvation even to the end of the earth."

²⁵ nor doth he receive service at the hands of men, as though he needed anything, since it is he that giveth to all life and breath and all things.

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

¹⁷ But he answered them, My Father is working up to this time, and I work.

²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If any one loveth me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

²⁰ For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears. We would know therefore what these things mean.

²⁶ And he made of one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having fixed appointed times, and the bounds of their habitation;

²⁸ For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as also some of your own poets have said: "For we are also his offspring." ²⁹ Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Deity is like to gold or silver or stone, graven by the art and device of man.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man;

¹⁸ But we all with unveiled face beholding in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, as by the Lord, the Spirit.

⁴ in whom the God of this world blinded the understandings of the unbelieving, so that they cannot behold the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

²⁴ and that ye put on the new man, who was created according to God in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

¹⁵ who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of the whole creation;

¹⁰ and have put on the new man, who is renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him;

⁶ But one in a certain place bore testimony, saying, "What is man, that thou art mindful of him, or the son of man, that thou carest for him? ⁷ Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honor; ⁸ thou didst put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that he put all things in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. ⁹ But we see him who was made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, on account of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor; that by the grace of God he might taste death for every one.

⁷ For every kind of beasts and of birds, of creeping things and things in the sea, is tamed and hath been tamed by mankind;

⁹ Therewith bless we the Lord and Father, and therewith curse we men, who have been made after the likeness of God;

⁷ For there are three that bear witness,

⁴ And he answering said, Have ye not read, that he who made them at the beginning, made them male and female?

⁶ But, from the beginning of the creation, [God] made them male and female.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man; ⁸ for the man is not from the woman, but the woman from the man; ⁹ and the man was not created for the woman, but the woman for the man.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

²⁶ the mystery which hath been hidden for ages and generations, but hath been now revealed to his saints;

³ forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from food which God created to be received with thanksgiving, for those who believe and know the truth.

¹¹ give us this day our daily bread;

²⁵ Therefore I say to you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment? ²⁶ Behold the birds of the air, that they sow not, nor reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much greater value than they?

¹⁷ although he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, giving you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.

¹⁷ Charge those who are rich in this world that they be not highminded, nor place their hope in uncertain riches, but in God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good,

⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving;
