¹² And may the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

¹² Therefore, all things that you would have men do for you, do for them: for this is the law and the prophets.

³⁹ And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

⁵ And the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith.

⁸ Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he who loves others has fulfilled the law.

¹ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a noisy gong, or a clanging cymbal. ² And if I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so that I can remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. ³ And if I give all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. ⁴ Love is patient, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not boast, and is not arrogant; ⁵ It is not rude, does not insist on its own way, is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs suffered; ⁶ It does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth; ⁷ Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails: but where there are prophecies, they shall pass away; where there are tongues, they shall cease; where there is knowledge, it shall vanish away. ⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. ¹⁰ But when that which is perfect comes, then that which is partial shall pass away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. ¹² For now we see in a mirror dimly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. ¹³ And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

¹⁰ Now he who provides seed to the sower and bread for food, will supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;

⁶ For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; but faith which works through love.

¹³ For, brethren, you have been called to liberty; only do not use your liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but in love serve one another. ¹⁴ For all the law is fulfilled in one command; You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all discernment;

⁸ So having a yearning affection for you, we were willing to impart to you, not only the gospel of God, but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.

¹ Furthermore, we urge you, brethren, and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have learned from us how you ought to walk and to please God, as indeed you are doing, so you would do more and more.

⁹ But regarding brotherly love you do not need any one to write to you: for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another. ¹⁰ And indeed you do love all the brethren who are in all Macedonia: but we urge you, brethren, that you do so more and more;

¹⁵ See that no one repays another with evil for evil; but always seek that which is good, both for yourselves, and for all men.

³ We ought always to thank God for you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith grows abundantly, and the love of every one of you for each other grows greater;

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

⁷ And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love.

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

¹¹ For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. ¹² Do not be like Cain, who was of the wicked one, and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's were righteous. ¹³ Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. ¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. ¹⁵ Whoever hates his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word or in speech; but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him,

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one who loves is born of God, and knows God. ⁸ He who does not love does not know God; for God is love. ⁹ In this was the love of God revealed among us, that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No man has seen God at any time, but if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ By this we know that we abide in him, and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. ¹⁵ Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love; and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
