⁴⁰ But God raised him up on the third day, and showed him openly;

¹ At the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. ² And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

²⁴ But God has raised him up, having freed him from the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held by it.

³⁰ But God raised him from the dead: ³¹ And he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.

³¹ Because he has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness, by a man whom he has ordained; and he has given assurance of this to all men by raising him from the dead.

⁴ And through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by the resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord,

²⁴ But also for us. It shall be credited to those of us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. ²⁵ He was delivered to death for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

⁴ Therefore, we were buried with him by baptism into death: so that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also might walk in newness of life. ⁵ For if we have been united with him by sharing a death like his, so shall we also share a resurrection like his: ⁶ Knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should no longer be enslaved by sin. ⁷ For he who has died is freed from sin. ⁸ Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: ⁹ Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, will never die again: death no longer has power over him. ¹⁰ For in his death, he died to sin once for all: but in his life, he lives to God. ¹¹ In the same way, consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

¹¹ And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead shall also give life to your mortal bodies by his Spirit who dwells in you.

⁹ For to this end Christ both died, and rose to life, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

³ For I delivered to you as of first importance that which I received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; ⁴ And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

¹² Now if Christ is preached, that he rose from the dead, how is it that some among you say that there is no resurrection from the dead? ¹³ But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen: ¹⁴ And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is also in vain. ¹⁵ Yea, and we are found to be false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ, whom he has raised not up, if it is true that the dead do not rise. ¹⁶ For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised: ¹⁷ And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is in vain; you are still in your sins. ¹⁸ Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. ¹⁹ If for this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. ²⁰ But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first-fruits of those who sleep.

¹⁴ Knowing that he who raised up the Lord Jesus shall also raise us up with Jesus, and shall present us with you in his presence.

²⁰ Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal covenant,

²¹ Who through him believe in God, who raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
