⁴ But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

¹⁴ They all continued with one accord in prayer, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

⁴² And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayer.

² As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. ³ And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands upon them, they sent them away.

¹⁹ Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and with trials which befell me by the plots of the Jews: ²⁰ How I kept back nothing that was profitable for you, but have taught you publicly, and from house to house, ²¹ Testifying both to the Jews, and to the Greeks, of repentance toward God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. ²² And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit, to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: ²³ Except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city, that bonds and afflictions await me. ²⁴ But I do not count my life as precious to myself, so that I might finish my course, and the ministry, which I have received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. ²⁵ And now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. ²⁶ Therefore, I testify to you this day, that I am innocent of the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I have not hesitated to declare to you all the counsel of God. ²⁸ Take heed for yourselves, and for all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood. ²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ And from among your own selves men shall arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. ³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that for three years I did not cease to warn every one night and day with tears.

⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you in my prayers;

⁶ Having gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, according to the proportion of our faith; ⁷ If service, in our serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; ⁸ Or he who exhorts, in exhortation: he who gives, with generosity; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

¹⁶ For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast about: for it is a necessity laid upon me; woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!

¹⁵ Therefore, I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love for all the saints, ¹⁶ Do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; ¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

¹⁴ For this reason I bow my knees to the Father, ¹⁵ From whom every family in heaven and earth is named, ¹⁶ That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; ¹⁷ That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, ¹⁸ May be able to comprehend, with all the saints, its breadth, and length, and height, and depth; ¹⁹ And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God. ²⁰ Now to him who is able to do immeasurably beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, ²¹ To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.

⁴ Always, in every prayer of mine for you all, I make my requests with joy,

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all discernment; ¹⁰ That you may approve things that are excellent; that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ; ¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are from Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

⁹ For this reason, since the day we heard it, we do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; ¹⁰ That you might walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please him in all things, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; ¹¹ Strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, with all endurance and patience with joyfulness; ¹² Giving thanks to the Father, who has made us qualified to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. ¹³ He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

¹ For I want you to know what a great struggle I have for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, greets you, always labouring fervently for you in prayer, that you may stand firm and fully assured in all the will of God.

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, Take heed that you fulfill the ministry which you have received in the Lord.

¹³ Until I come, give attention to the public reading of scripture, to exhortation, to doctrine. ¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophetic message when the body of elders laid hands upon you. ¹⁵ Diligently practice these things; give yourself wholly to them; so your progress may appear to all. ¹⁶ Take heed to yourself, and to your teaching; continue in them: for in doing this you shall save both yourself, and those who hear you.

² Preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all patience and instruction.
