¹³ He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

¹⁷ And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

²⁹ Or how can one enter a strong man's house, and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? and then he will plunder his house. ³⁰ He who is not with me is against me; and he who does not gather with me scatters.

⁵ While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and a voice out of the cloud said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear him.

³⁴ Then shall the King say to those on his right hand, Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

²⁴ Strive to enter in at the narrow gate: for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

⁵³ When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not stretch forth hands against me: but this is your hour, when darkness reigns.

³⁵ The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and shall not come into judgment; but has passed from death into life.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. ³² And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.

²⁴ Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance along with those who are sanctified by faith in me.

¹⁷ But thanks be to God, that you who were once the slaves of sin, have obeyed from the heart that standard of teaching which was entrusted to you. ¹⁸ Being then set free from sin, you became the slaves of righteousness. ¹⁹ I speak after the manner of men, because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as you have yielded your members as slaves to uncleanness and to ever increasing iniquity; so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness, leading to holiness. ²⁰ For when you were the slaves of sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. ²¹ But what benefit did you get from those things of which you are now ashamed? for the result of those things is death. ²² But now, having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you gain the benefit that leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not food and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

⁹ Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexual offenders, ¹⁰ Nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

²³ But every man in his own order: Christ the first-fruits; afterward those who are Christ's at his coming. ²⁴ Then comes the end, when he delivers up the kingdom to God the Father; after he has destroyed all rule and all authority and power. ²⁵ For he must reign, until he has put all enemies under his feet.

⁴ For the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest they should see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.

¹⁷ Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will welcome you, ¹⁸ And will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

⁶ To the praise of his glorious grace, which he freely bestowed upon us in the beloved.

³ Among them we all lived in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, like the others. ⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ Even when we were dead in transgressions, has made us alive together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;) ⁶ And has raised us up with him, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus: ⁷ That in the ages to come he might show the incomparable riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ⁹ Not because of works, lest any man should boast. ¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared beforehand for us to do.

¹⁸ Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts:

⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light;

¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of darkness of this world, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

¹² That you would walk in a manner worthy of God, who has called you into his kingdom and glory.

³ For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaves to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy; hated, and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, ⁵ He saved us, not because of works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing by the Holy Spirit; ⁶ Whom he poured out upon us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

¹⁴ Since then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he himself also partook of the same; that through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil;

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God; that you should declare the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

¹¹ For in this way an entrance shall be abundantly provided for you into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

⁸ Yet, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you: because the darkness is passing away, and the true light now shines.

⁸ He who commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this reason the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.
