¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

²³ Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which translated means, God with us.

² He was in the beginning with God.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father,) full of grace and truth.

¹⁸ No man has seen God at any time; but God the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known.

³⁰ I and the Father are one. ³¹ Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. ³² Jesus answered them, I have shown you many good works from my Father; for which of those works do you stone me? ³³ The Jews answered him, saying, We do not stone you for a good work; but for blasphemy; because you, being a man, make yourself out to be God.

²⁸ I came forth from the Father, and have come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

⁵ And now, O Father, glorify me together with you; with the glory which I had with you before the world was.

²⁸ And Thomas said to him, My Lord and my God.

⁵ To them belong the fathers, and from them, according to the flesh, came Christ, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

⁹ And make all men see what is the plan of the mystery, which from past ages has been hidden in God, who created all things:

⁶ Who, though being in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped:

¹⁷ And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

¹⁶ And beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

¹³ Looking for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;

⁸ But of the Son he says, Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of your kingdom. ⁹ You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows. ¹⁰ And, You, Lord, did lay the foundation of the earth in the beginning; and the heavens are the works of your hands: ¹¹ They shall perish; but you remain; and they shall all grow old as does a garment; ¹² And as a mantle you shall fold them up, and they shall be changed: but you are the same, and your years shall never end. ¹³ But to which of the angels did he at any time say, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?

³ He is without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but like the Son of God, he remains a priest continually.

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who, through the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ, have obtained the same precious faith as ours:

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life; ² (For the life was revealed, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us;)

⁷ And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

² Who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

⁸ I am Alpha and Omega, says the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹¹ Saying, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as if dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying to me, Do not fear; I am the first and the last,

⁸ And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These are the words of him who is the first and the last, who was dead, and came to life;

¹⁴ And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

¹³ And he was clothed with a robe dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

⁶ And he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him who is thirsty, without cost, from the spring of the water of life.
