³⁹ (But this he spoke of the Spirit, which those who believe in him were to receive: for the Holy Spirit had not yet been given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

¹⁴ And they said, Some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

¹¹ And the multitudes said, This is Jesus, the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

¹⁶ John answered, saying to them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I comes, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire:

¹⁶ And fear came upon them all: and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet is risen up among us; and, God has visited his people.

⁴⁹ And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high.

²¹ And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not. Are you the prophet? And he answered, No.

²⁵ And they asked him, Why do you baptize then, if you are not the Christ, or Elijah, or the prophet?

³³ And I did not know him: but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, He upon whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ Then those men, when they had seen the miraculous sign that Jesus did, said, This is truly the prophet who is to come into the world.

¹² And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, No; he deceives the people.

¹⁶ These things his disciples did not understand at first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things to him.

²³ And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified.

³¹ When he had gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. ³² If God is glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall immediately glorify him.

¹³ And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

¹⁶ And I will pray to the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; ¹⁷ That is the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see him, neither does it know him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.

²⁶ But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you.

⁷ Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; It is for your good that I go away: for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you.

⁵ And now, O Father, glorify me together with you; with the glory which I had with you before the world was.

²² And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit:

⁴ And, while eating with them, commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, of which, he said, you have heard me speak. ⁵ For John baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. ⁶ When they had come together, they asked him, saying, Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? ⁷ And he said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has fixed by his own authority. ⁸ But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you: and you shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the remotest part of the earth.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

¹⁷ And it shall come to pass in the last days, declares God, That I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

³³ Therefore, being exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured forth this, which you now see and hear.

³⁸ Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let him go.

²² For Moses said, The Lord your God shall raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brethren; you shall hear him in all things, whatever he shall say to you. ²³ And it shall come to pass, that anyone who will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

³¹ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.

⁸ Shall not the ministry of the spirit be even more glorious?

¹³ In him you also, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, ¹⁴ Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession, to the praise of his glory.

³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you have been sealed for the day of redemption.
