Luke 24 Cross References - RKJNT

1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 They entered, but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: 5 They were afraid, and bowed their faces to the earth, and the men said to them, Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but has risen: remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words, 9 And returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. 10 They were Mary of Magdala, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they did not believe them. 12 Then Peter arose, and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering to himself at that which had come to pass. 13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 And it came to pass, that, while they were conversing and discussing, Jesus himself drew near, and went along with them. 16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. 17 And he said to them, What is it that you are discussing with each other as you walk? And they stood still, looking downcast. 18 And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered him, Are you the only visitor in Jerusalem who does not know the things which have come to pass there in these days? 19 And he said to them, What things? And they said to him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 But we trusted that it was he who would redeem Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 Yea, and certain women of our company astonished us, for they were at the tomb early; 23 And they did not find his body. They came back, saying that they had seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as the women had said: but him they did not see. 25 Then he said to them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Was it not necessary for the Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them all the things concerning himself in the scriptures. 28 And they drew near to the village, where they were going: and he acted as though he would have gone farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, saying, Stay with us: for it is getting toward evening, and the day is nearly over. And he went in to stay with them. 30 And it came to pass, as he was at table with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said to one another, Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us along the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? 33 They rose up that same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, along with those who were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what had happened on the road, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of bread. 36 And as they spoke of this, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, Peace be with you. 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed that they were seeing a spirit. 38 And he said to them, Why are you troubled? and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: touch me, and see; for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 And while they still did not believe because of joy, and marvelled, he said to them, Have you anything here to eat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish. 43 And he took it, and ate it before them. 44 He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which are written about me in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms. 45 Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said to them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day: 47 And that repentance for forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high. 50 And he led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: 53 And were continually in the temple, praising God.

John 19:24-37

24 Therefore they said among themselves, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be. This was so the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots. Therefore the soldiers did these things. 25 Now by the cross of Jesus stood his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved, standing by, he said to his mother, Woman, behold your son! 27 Then he said to the disciple, Behold your mother! And from that hour that disciple took her into his own home. 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, said in fulfillment of the scripture, I thirst. 29 Now there was a vessel full of vinegar set there: and they soaked a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon a hyssop branch, and held it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit. 31 Because it was the day of preparation, in order that the bodies would not remain upon the cross during the sabbath day (for that sabbath day was a high day,) the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 32 The soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him. 33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they did not break his legs: 34 But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water. 35 And he who saw it has borne witness, and his witness is true: and he knows what he says is true, that you also might believe. 36 For these things came to pass that the scripture should be fulfilled, Not one of his bones shall be broken. 37 And again another scripture says, They shall look on him whom they have pierced.

14 But their minds were hardened: for to this day the same veil remains unlifted at the reading of the old covenant; because it is only removed through Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their hearts. 16 But whenever a man shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled faces beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into that same image, from glory to glory, and this is from the Lord, the Spirit.

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to you; how often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not allow it!

38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 11:18

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then God has also granted to the Gentiles the repentance that leads to life.

Acts 13:38-39

38 Therefore, let it be known to you, brethren, that through this man the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you: 39 And by him all who believe are justified from all the things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Acts 18:5-6

5 And when Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself to preaching, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. 6 And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his clothing, and said to them, May your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: henceforth I will go to the Gentiles.

Romans 10:12-18

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord is Lord over all, bestowing his riches on all who call upon him. 13 For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 But how shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, unless they are sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report? 17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes truly, for: Their voice went into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.

Romans 11:26-27

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, who shall banish ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant with them, when I shall take away their sins.

Romans 15:8-16

8 Now I say that Christ became a minister to the circumcised for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: 9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name. 10 And again he says, Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people. 11 And again, Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; and praise him, all you people. 12 And again, Isaiah says, The root of Jesse shall come, and he shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles hope. 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit. 14 And I myself am also convinced about you, my brethren, that you are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able also to admonish one another. 15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written more boldly to you on some points, as a reminder, because of the grace given to me by God, 16 That I should be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, in the priestly service of the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

John 16:7-16

7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; It is for your good that I go away: for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you. 8 And when he has come, he will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you will see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. 12 I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 Yet when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of his own accord; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall take what is mine, and shall show it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are mine: therefore I said that he shall take what is mine, and shall show it to you. 16 In a little while you shall not see me: and again, in a little while, you shall see me.
