¹ Then I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as with a voice of thunder, Come. ² And I saw, and behold, a white horse: and he who sat upon it had a bow; and a crown was given to him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. ³ And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, Come. ⁴ And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him who sat upon it to take peace from the earth, that men should slay one another: and there was given to him a great sword. ⁵ And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, Come. And I beheld, and lo, a black horse; and he who sat upon it had a pair of scales in his hand. ⁶ And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not hurt the oil and the wine. ⁷ And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, Come. ⁸ And I looked, and behold, a pale horse: and the name of him who sat upon it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with plague, and with the wild beasts of the earth. ⁹ And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they maintained: ¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, must it be before you judge those who live on the earth, and avenge our blood? ¹¹ And white robes were given to every one of them; and it was said to them, that they should rest yet for a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, should be completed. ¹² And I beheld, and, lo, when he had opened the sixth seal, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; ¹³ And the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts down its unripe figs, when it is shaken by a mighty wind. ¹⁴ And the sky vanished, as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. ¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every slave, and every free man, hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; ¹⁶ And they called to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: ¹⁷ For the great day of his wrath has come; and who shall be able to stand?

²⁰ But we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

⁵ And out of the throne came flashes of lightning and peals of thunder: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. ⁶ And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal: and in the center, around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. ⁷ And the first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle.

¹ And I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll, with writing inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals.

⁵ Then one of the elders said to me, Do not weep: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so he can open the scroll and its seven seals. ⁶ And then I beheld between the throne and the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing as if it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. ⁷ And he came and took the scroll out of the right hand of him who sat upon the throne.

³ And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, Come.

⁵ And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, Come. And I beheld, and lo, a black horse; and he who sat upon it had a pair of scales in his hand.

⁷ And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, Come.

³ And he cried out with a loud voice, as when a lion roars: and when he had cried out, the voices of seven thunders spoke. ⁴ And when the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders spoke, and do not write them.

¹⁹ Then the temple of God in heaven was opened, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his covenant: and there were flashes of lightning, and rumblings, and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.

² And I heard a voice from heaven, like the sound of many waters, and like the roar of great thunder: the voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing upon their harps:

⁶ And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters, like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord our God omnipotent reigns.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any work except what Christ has done through me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, ¹⁹ Through the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

²⁵ For he must reign, until he has put all enemies under his feet.

⁵⁵ O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? ⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law. ⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh: ⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are mighty before God for the pulling down of strongholds. ⁵ We cast down arguments, and every lofty thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

²¹ To him who overcomes I will grant the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.

¹⁸ The nations raged, and your wrath came; and the time came for the dead to be judged, and to reward your servants the prophets, and the saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.

¹⁴ And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and upon the cloud sat one like a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

² And I saw, as it were, a sea of glass mingled with fire: and those who had won the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding the harps of God.

¹⁴ They shall make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and those who are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse; and he who sat upon it was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. ¹² His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written upon him, that no man knew, but he himself.

¹⁴ And the armies of heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

⁷ And the first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle.

¹ Then I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as with a voice of thunder, Come.

³⁴ Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth: I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

¹¹ Jesus answered, You would have no power over me unless it was given to you from above: therefore he who delivered me to you has the greater sin.

³ And there appeared another sign in heaven; behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

¹⁰ He who is to go into captivity shall go into captivity: he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

³ So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast, which was full of names of blasphemy, and had seven heads and ten horns.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered greatly.

⁵ Then one of the elders said to me, Do not weep: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so he can open the scroll and its seven seals.

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the scroll, and to break its seals: for you were slain, and by your blood have purchased men for God out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;

⁶ And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal: and in the center, around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.

³ Saying, Do not hurt the earth, or the sea, or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.

⁴ And they were told not to harm the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree; but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

²³ And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? you shall be brought down to Hades: for if the miracles which have been done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

⁵⁵ O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?

¹⁸ The one who lives; I was dead, and, behold, I am alive forevermore, and possess the keys of death and of Hades.

⁷ The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. ⁸ And the second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and a third of the sea became blood; ⁹ And a third of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and a third of the ships were destroyed. ¹⁰ And the third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning as if it were a torch, and it fell upon a third of the rivers, and upon the springs of waters; ¹¹ And the name of the star is Wormwood: and a third of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter. ¹² And the fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun was smitten, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars; so that a third of them was darkened, and a third of the day the light did not shine, and likewise a third of the night.

¹⁵ And the four angels were released, who had been prepared for this hour, and day, and month, and year, to kill a third of mankind.

¹⁸ By these three was a third of mankind killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the sulphur, which came out of their mouths.

⁴ And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, to devour her child as soon as it was born.

¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it; and death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them: and they were judged, every man according to his deeds. ¹⁴ And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

² They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time comes when whoever kills you will think that he is serving God.

⁸ We are confident, and would rather be absent from the body, and present with the Lord.

²³ For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

¹⁷ Even if I am poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad, and rejoice with you all.

⁸ Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but share in the afflictions of the gospel, by the power of God;

⁶ For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

² Who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

⁹ I, John, your brother and companion in the tribulation, and kingdom, and endurance which are ours in Jesus, was on the island that is called Patmos, because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

¹³ I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is: and that you hold fast to my name, and have not denied my faith, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.

³ And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

¹³ And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

³ And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy for a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. ⁴ These are the two olive trees, and the two lampstands standing before the Lord of the earth. ⁵ And if any man wants to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouths, and devours their enemies: and if any man wants to harm them, he must in this manner be killed. ⁶ These two have power to shut up the sky, so that it does not rain during the days of their prophesying: and have power over the waters, to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all manner of plagues, as often as they desire. ⁷ And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to death. ¹² Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you who live in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time. ¹³ And when the dragon saw that he had been cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the male child. ¹⁴ And to the woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, to her place, where she would be sustained for a time, and times, and half a time, away from the face of the serpent. ¹⁵ And the serpent spewed out of his mouth water like a river after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. ¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman, and the ground opened its mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon spewed out of his mouth. ¹⁷ And the dragon was furious with the woman, and went to make war against the rest of her descendants, those who keep the commandments of God, and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

¹⁸ And another angel came out from the altar, the angel who has power over fire; and cried out with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

⁷ And I heard the altar say, Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, Do not do that: I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren, who hold to the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

⁴ And I saw thrones, on which were seated those to whom judgment had been given: and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness for Jesus, and for the word of God, and who had not worshipped the beast, nor his image, nor had they received his mark upon their foreheads, or on their hands; and they lived again and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

⁷ And shall not God vindicate his elect, who cry day and night to him, and will he delay long with them? ⁸ I tell you that he will vindicate them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?

²² For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

¹⁹ Dearly beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place for the wrath of God: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.

⁶ It is a righteous thing for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you; ⁷ And to give rest to you who are afflicted, along with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, ⁸ Taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴ And to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, that speaks better things than that of Abel.

⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These are the words of he who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens;

¹⁰ Because you have kept my word to patiently endure, I will keep you from the hour of trial, which shall come upon all the world, to test those who live upon the earth.

³ And they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, O King of the ages. ⁴ Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name? for you alone are holy: all nations shall come and worship before you; for your righteous acts have been revealed.

⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters say, You are righteous, you who are, and were, O Holy One, because you have judged thus. ⁶ For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; for such is their due. ⁷ And I heard the altar say, Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets; for God has judged her for what she did to you.

²⁴ And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all who have been slain upon the earth.

² For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great harlot, who corrupted the earth with her adulteries, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.

²¹ And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

³⁴ Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them you shall kill and crucify; and some of them you shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city: ³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berachiah, whom you killed between the temple and the altar.

⁴⁰ Because God had provided something better for us, that without us they should not be made perfect.

⁴ Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. ⁵ He who overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white garments; and I will not blot his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

⁹ After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, from all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands;

¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹⁵ And he had power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

¹³ And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord henceforth: Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; for their works follow them.

⁷ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and earthquakes, in various places.

²⁹ Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

⁵⁴ Now when the centurion, and those who were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

² And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

²⁴ But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, ²⁵ And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

³³ And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

⁴⁴ And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour, ⁴⁵ For the sun was darkened. And the veil of the temple was torn in two.

¹⁹ And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: ²⁰ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come:

⁵ And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire from the altar, and cast it upon the earth: and there were rumblings, and peals of thunder, and flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

¹³ And that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain seven thousand men: and the remnant were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

¹⁸ And there were flashes of lightning, and rumblings, and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as had never been since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake it was, and so great.

²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth nations shall be distressed and perplexed by the roaring waves of the sea;

¹ And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven to the earth: and to him was given the key to the bottomless pit.

¹¹ They shall perish; but you remain; and they shall all grow old as does a garment; ¹² And as a mantle you shall fold them up, and they shall be changed: but you are the same, and your years shall never end. ¹³ But to which of the angels did he at any time say, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in which the heavens shall pass away with a roar, and the elements shall be destroyed with fervent heat, the earth and the works that are upon it shall be burned up.

²⁰ And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him who sat upon it, from whose face earth and heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away; and there was no more sea.

³⁸ (Men of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

⁹ And the kings of the earth, who have committed adultery and lived luxuriously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning; ¹⁰ They shall stand far off in fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, the great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour your judgment has come. ¹¹ And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buys their cargoes any more:

¹³ And he was clothed with a robe dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies of heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. ¹⁵ And out of his mouth comes a sharp sword, with which he may strike the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of Almighty God. ¹⁶ And he has on his robe and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. ¹⁷ And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, Come and gather yourselves together for the great supper of God; ¹⁸ That you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of those who sit upon them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, both small and great. ¹⁹ And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him who sat upon the horse, and against his army. ²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed miraculous signs in his presence, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast, and those who worshipped his image. They were both cast alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur. ²¹ And the rest were slain with the sword that came out of the mouth of him who sat upon the horse: and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, You have said so: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

³⁰ Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall upon us; and to the hills, Cover us.

⁷ And to give rest to you who are afflicted, along with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, ⁸ Taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ They shall be punished with eternal ruin and exclusion from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

² And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

⁵ And out of the throne came flashes of lightning and peals of thunder: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

⁹ And when those living creatures give glory and honour and thanks to him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, must it be before you judge those who live on the earth, and avenge our blood?

⁶ And swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that are in it, and the earth, and the things that are in it, and the sea, and the things that are in it, that there should be no more delay:

¹⁵ And out of his mouth comes a sharp sword, with which he may strike the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of Almighty God.

³⁶ Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be strong and accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

⁵ But because of your hard and unrepentant heart you are storing up for yourself wrath on the day of wrath when the righteous judgment of God shall be revealed;

⁶ And the angels which did not keep their own domain, but left their proper abode, he has kept in eternal chains under darkness for the great day of judgment.

¹⁴ For they are the spirits of devils, working miraculous signs, who go forth to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for battle on the great day of God Almighty.
