³⁴ 'And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts may be weighed down with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day may come on you,

¹³ as in day-time, let us walk becomingly; not in revellings and drunkennesses, not in chamberings and lasciviousnesses, not in strife and emulation; ¹⁴ but put you on the Lord Jesus Christ, and for the flesh take no forethought -- for desires.

²⁹ And this I say, brethren, the time henceforth is having been shortened -- that both those having wives may be as not having; ³⁰ and those weeping, as not weeping; and those rejoicing, as not rejoicing; and those buying, as not possessing; ³¹ and those using this world, as not using it up; for passing away is the fashion of this world.
