¹⁹ So, then, the things of peace may we pursue, and the things of building up one another;

⁹ 'Blessed the peacemakers -- because they shall be called Sons of God.

⁵⁰ The salt is good, but if the salt may become saltless, in what will you season it? Have in yourselves salt, and have peace in one another.'

¹⁸ If possible -- so far as in you -- with all men being in peace;

² for let each one of us please the neighbor for good, unto edification,

¹⁵ And, if the unbelieving does separate himself -- let him separate himself: the brother or the sister is not under servitude in such cases, and in peace has God called us;

³³ as I also in all things do please all, not seeking my own profit, but that of many -- that they may be saved.

¹² so also you, since you are earnestly desirous of spiritual gifts, for the building up of the assembly seek that you may abound; ¹³ wherefore he who is speaking in an unknown tongue -- let him pray that he may interpret; ¹⁴ for if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit does pray, and my understanding is unfruitful. ¹⁵ What then is it? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray also with the understanding; I will sing psalms with the spirit, and I will sing psalms also with the understanding; ¹⁶ since, if you may bless with the spirit, he who is filling the place of the unlearned, how shall he say the Amen at thy giving of thanks, since what you do say he has not known? ¹⁷ for you, indeed, do give thanks well, but the other is not built up!

²⁶ What then is it, brethren? whenever you may come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation? let all things be for building up;

¹⁹ Again, think you that to you we are making defence? before God in Christ do we speak; and the all things, beloved, are for your up-building,

¹¹ Henceforth, brethren, rejoice; be made perfect, be comforted, be of the same mind, be at peace, and the God of the love and peace shall be with you;

³ being diligent\'7bendeavouring\'7d to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond\'7btie\'7d of the peace; ⁴ one body and one Spirit, according as also you were called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in you\'7bMT reads "us"\'7d all, ⁷ and to each one of you was given the grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ,

²⁹ Let no corrupt word out of your mouth go forth, but what is good unto the needful building up, that it may give grace to the hearers;

¹ If, then, any exhortation is in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of spirit, if any bowels and mercies, ² fulfil you my joy, that you may mind the same thing -- having the same love -- of one soul -- minding the one thing, ³ nothing in rivalry or vain-glory, but in humility of mind one another counting more excellent than yourselves -- ⁴ each not to your own look you, but each also to the things of others.

¹² Put on, therefore, as choice ones of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humble-mindedness, meekness, long-suffering, ¹³ forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any one with any one may have a quarrel, as also the Christ did forgive you -- so also you; ¹⁴ and above all these things, have love, which is a bond of the perfection, ¹⁵ and let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and become thankful.

¹¹ therefore, comfort you one another, and build you up, one the one, as also you do. ¹² And we ask you, brethren, to know those labouring among you, and leading you in the Lord, and admonishing you,

⁴ nor to give heed to fables and endless genealogies, that cause questions rather than the building up of God that is in faith: --

²² and the youthful lusts flee you, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those calling upon the Lord out of a pure heart;

¹⁴ peace pursue with all, and the separation, apart from which no one shall see the Lord,

¹³ Who is wise and intelligent among you? let him show out of the good behaviour his works in meekness of wisdom, ¹⁴ and if bitter zeal you have, and rivalry in your heart, glory not, nor lie against the truth; ¹⁵ this wisdom is not descending from above, but earthly, physical, demon-like, ¹⁶ for where zeal and rivalry are, there is insurrection and every evil matter; ¹⁷ and the wisdom from above, first, indeed, is pure, then peaceable, gentle, easily entreated, full of kindness and good fruits, uncontentious, and unhypocritical: -- ¹⁸ and the fruit of the righteousness in peace is sown to those making peace.

¹¹ let him turn aside from evil, and do good, let him seek peace and pursue it;
