¹³ I had no rest in my spirit because I did not find Titus my brother, but bidding them farewell I came away to Macedonia.

¹ WHEN the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and, after encouraging them, he bade them farewell and left to proceed to Macedonia. ² Passing through those parts and encouraging them by many addresses, he came into Greece.

⁵ For since we came to Macedonia our flesh has had no rest, but we have been distressed in every way, conflicts without, fears within. ⁶ But God, who encourages the depressed, encouraged us by the coming of Titus,

¹³ On this account we have been encouraged. In addition to this encouragement of ours, we rejoiced very much more over the joy of Titus because his spirit has been refreshed by you all,

⁶ Therefore we encouraged Titus that as he had begun so he should complete this grace among you.

¹⁶ Thanks be to God who puts into the heart of Titus the same interest in you.

²³ If any one asks about Titus, he is my intimate friend and fellow worker for you. If it is our brethren, they are the messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ.

¹⁸ I begged Titus to go, and I sent along with him the brother. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not act in the same spirit and walk in the same steps?
