⁴⁰ and yet you will not come to me to have life.

Isaiah said, "Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" ³⁹ For this reason they could not believe, because Isaiah said again, ⁴⁰ "He has blinded their eyes and dulled their mind so that they may not see with their eyes nor understand with their mind and repent so that I should heal them." ⁴¹ Isaiah said this because he saw his glory and he spoke of him.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is life eternal in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ This is the testimony: that God has given to us life eternal and this life is in his Son. ¹² He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not life. ¹³ I am writing this to you so that you may know that you have life eternal, you who believe in the name of the Son of God.

¹⁷ The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." Let him who hears say, "Come." Let him who thirsts come. Let him who will take the water of life freely.
