¹⁵ When it is said, "To-day if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as when they made me angry" — ¹⁶ who when they heard made him angry? Was it not all those who came out of Egypt with Moses? ¹⁷ With whom was he much displeased for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? ¹⁸ To whom did he swear that they should not enter his rest, except to those who had no faith? ¹⁹ We see that they were unable to enter because of their lack of faith.

¹¹ Let us endeavor then to enter into that rest so that no one shall fall, after that example of lack of faith.
