¹³ Yet, even the son of the bondwoman, will I appoint to become, a nation, because, thy seed, he is.

²⁰ Yet, as for Ishmael, I have heard thee; lo! I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and multiply him, exceedingly,––twelve princes, shall he beget, and I will grant him to be a great nation;

¹⁸ Arise, lift up the boy, and hold him up with thy hand,––for, a great nation, will I make him.

¹² Now, these, are the generations of Ishmael, son of Abraham,––whom Hagar the Egyptian woman, the handmaid of Sarah, bare to Abraham; ¹³ and, these, are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, after their generations,––the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and Kedar and Adbeel, and Mibsam; ¹⁴ and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa; ¹⁵ Hadad, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: ¹⁶ these same, are the sons of Ishmael, and, these, their names, by their villages, and by their encampments,––twelve princes, after their tribes. ¹⁷ And, these, are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty–seven years,––and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered unto his people. ¹⁸ And they stretched their habitations, from Havilah as far as to Shur, which is over against Egypt, as thou goest in towards Assyria,––over against all his brethren, he settled down.
