³ O Yahweh! what is the earthborn, And yet thou hast acknowledged him,––the son of a mortal, And yet thou hast taken account of him:

¹⁷ What is a mortal, that thou shouldst nurture him? Or that thou shouldst fix upon him thy mind?

¹⁴ What is a mortal, that he should be pure? or that righteous should be one born of a woman?

⁴ What was weak man, that thou shouldst make mention of him? or the son of the earthborn, that thou shouldst set him in charge?

³ Do not ye trust in nobles, in a son of man who hath no deliverance: ⁴ His spirit, goeth forth, he returneth to his ground, In that very day, his thoughts perish.
