¹⁴ And this is the confidence which we have in respect to him, that if we ask any thing according to his will he hears us.

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. ⁸ For every one that asks, receives; and he that seeks, finds; and to him that knocks, it shall be opened. ⁹ Or is there any man of you, who, if his son asks bread of him, will give him a stone? ¹⁰ or if he asks a fish, will give him a serpent? ¹¹ If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to them that ask him.

²² and all things whatever which you ask in prayer believing, you shall receive.

³¹ We know that God hears not sinners; but if one is a worshipper of God, and does his will, him he hears.

⁴² and I knew that thou hearest me always; but for the sake of the multitude who stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

¹³ and whatever you ask in my name I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

⁷ If you continue in me, and my words continue in you, you shall ask whatever you will, and it shall be [given] you.

²⁴ Till now you have asked nothing in my name; ask and you shall receive, that your joy may be complete.

¹² in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in him.

⁶ but Christ as a son over his house, whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and rejoicing of the hope.

¹⁴ for we have been made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of the confidence firm to the end.

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which has a great reward.

⁵ And if any one of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and upbraids not, and it shall be given him. ⁶ But let him ask in faith, not doubting; for he that doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and agitated.

³ you ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, to expend on your pleasures.

¹⁶ Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be cured, for the prayer of the righteous operates with great power.
