^{25 (8:5)} At that time Jesus answering said, I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and hast revealed them to babes.

¹⁹ for those days shall be an affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created till now, and shall not be.

^{1 (1:1)} IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² This [Word] was in the beginning with God. ³ All things existed through him, and without him not one thing existed, which existed.

²⁴ And when they heard it they lifted up their voice with one consent to God, and said, Master, thou who hast made heaven, and the earth, the sea, and all things in them,

¹⁵ and saying, Men, why do you do these things? We are also men subject to like sufferings with you, preaching that you should turn from these vain [services] to the living God, who made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things in them,

²⁴ The God who made the world and all things in it, this [God] being Lord of heaven and earth dwells not in temples made with hands,

¹⁹ because what can be known of God is manifest among them; for God has manifested [himself] to them. ²⁰ For his invisible [attributes] are clearly seen from the creation of the world, being perceived by the things which are made, even his eternal power and deity, so that they have no defense,

³⁶ For of him and through him, and in him are all things; to him be glory forever; amen.

⁶ yet to us there is one God the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and we through him.

⁹ and to enlighten all men as to the dispensation of the mystery concealed from eternity in God who created all things,

¹⁶ for by him were all things created which are in heaven and on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or principalities, or powers. All things were created through him and for him, ¹⁷ and he is before all things, and in him all things consist,

² in these last days spoke to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds,

¹⁰ And thou, Lord, in the beginning didst build from its foundations the earth, and the heavens are works of thy hands;

⁴ For every house is built by some one; but he that built all things is God.

³ We know by faith that the worlds were made by the word of God, that the seen was not made from the apparent.

⁵ For of this they are willingly ignorant, that the heavens were of old, and the earth was made of water and by water by the word of God,

⁶ and swore by him that lives forever and ever, that created heaven and the things in it and the earth and the things in it and the sea and the things in it, that time should be no longer,

⁷ saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give him glory, for the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him that made heaven and the earth and the sea and fountains of waters.

⁶ And he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that thirsts of the fountain of the water of life freely.

¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, first and last, the beginning and end.

³ And stretching out his hand, he touched him, saying, I will; be cleansed; and his leprosy was immediately cleansed.

⁵ and the light shone in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

⁹ The light was the true [light] which lights every man that comes into the world.

¹⁹ And this is the judgment; that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the light, because their deeds are evil.

⁴³ And having said these things, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

⁶ For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁸ For you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,—

¹⁴ Wherefore he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.

¹⁶ who only has immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no man has seen nor can see; to whom be honor and power eternal; amen.

^{5 (1:2)} And this is the message which we have heard from him and declare to you, That God is light, and with him there is no darkness.

⁸ Again, a new commandment I write you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is past and the true light now appears.

¹³ each one's work shall be manifest; for the day shall show it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the same fire shall try every man's work what it is.

¹³ but all things proved to be wrong are made manifest by the light; for every thing which makes manifest is light.

⁵ for you are all children of light, and children of day; we are not of night nor of darkness.

²⁷ And the men wondered, saying, What kind of a man is this, that the winds and the lake obey him?

¹⁰ and already the axe lies at the root of the trees; every tree, therefore, which bears not good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

³⁰ And if God so clothes the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, men of little faith?

¹⁶ You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns? or figs from thistles? ¹⁷ So every good tree bears good fruits, but a bad tree bears bad fruits; ¹⁸ a good tree cannot bear bad fruits, nor a bad tree good fruits. ¹⁹ Every tree which bears not good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. ²⁰ By their fruits, therefore, you shall know them.

²⁸ The earth produces spontaneously, first the stalk, then the head, then the full wheat in the head.

⁴³ For there is no good tree which bears bad fruit, nor, again, a bad tree which bears good fruit. ⁴⁴ For every tree is known by its own fruit. For they do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from brambles.

⁷ But the land which drinks in the rain that often falls on it, and produces plants beneficial to those by whom it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God;

¹² Can a fig tree, my brothers, produce olives, or a vine, figs? So you cannot make salt water sweet.

^{24 (11:4)} And he delivered them another parable, saying; The kingdom of heaven is like a man sowing good seed in his field; ²⁵ and while the men slept, his enemy came and sowed poisonous darnel in the midst of the wheat, and went away. ²⁶ But when the stalk grew up and bore fruit, then the poisonous darnel appeared.

⁴⁴ For every tree is known by its own fruit. For they do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from brambles.

¹⁰ And may he that supplies seed to the sower and bread for eating multiply your grain, and increase the products of your righteousness;

⁷ Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what a man sows, that shall he also reap;

² Where is the king of the Jews born? For we have seen his star in the East, and have come to worship him.

² But he answered and said to them, When it is evening you say, It will be fair weather for the sky is red; ³ and in the morning, It will rain to-day for the sky is red and lowering. You know how to distinguish the face of the sky, but you cannot distinguish the signs of the times.

^{29 (22:5)} And immediately after the affliction of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

^{24 (12:5)} But in those days, after that affliction, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

^{25 (27:4)} And there shall be signs in the sun, and moon, and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity [at] the roaring of the sea and waves, ²⁶ men dying with fear and an expectation of evils to come on the world; for the hosts of the heavens shall be shaken.

⁴⁵ And the sun was obscured; and the vail in the midst of the temple was rent in two.

¹⁹ And I will show prodigies in heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and a cloud of smoke. ²⁰ The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and illustrious day of the Lord comes.

²³ And the city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to give a light to it; for the glory of God lights it, and its light the Lamb.

⁴⁷ For thus has the Lord commanded us; I have set you for a light of nations, that you should be a salvation even to the end of the earth.

²⁵ neither is he served by the hands of men as needing any thing, since he gives to all life, and breath, and all things;

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the fish, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, My Father works even till now, and I work.

²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If any one loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our mansion with him.

²⁰ for you bring certain strange things to our ears; we wish therefore to know what these things mean.

²⁶ and he made of one blood every nation of men to live on all the face of the earth, determining their appointed times and the bounds of their habitation,

²⁸ For in him we live, and move, and are; as some also of your own poets have said, For we are his offspring. ²⁹ Being therefore an offspring of God, we ought not to think the Deity to be like gold or silver or stone, a work of art and human device.

^{7 (5:2)} For a man ought not to cover his head, being an image and glory of God; but the woman is a glory of man.

¹⁸ And we all with unvailed face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same likeness, from glory to glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord.

⁴ in whom the god of this life has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God, may not shine.

²⁴ and put on the new man, created after God in righteousness and true holiness.

¹⁵ who is the likeness of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation,

¹⁰ and put on the new man, renewed in knowledge in the likeness of him that created him,

⁶ But one somewhere testified, saying, What is man that thou art mindful of him, or a son of man that thou visitest him? ⁷ Thou didst make him a little lower than angels, thou didst crown him with glory and honor, ⁸ thou didst subject all things under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, he left nothing not subjected to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, made a little less than angels, on account of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste death for every [man].

⁷ For every kind of beasts, and birds, and reptiles, and fishes, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race,

⁹ With it bless we the Lord and Father, and with it curse we men made in the likeness of God.

⁷ For there are three that testify; the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and the three are one.

⁴ And he answered and said, Have you not read that the Creator at the beginning made them male and female?

⁶ but from the beginning of creation, he made them male and female.

^{7 (5:2)} For a man ought not to cover his head, being an image and glory of God; but the woman is a glory of man. ⁸ For man is not of woman, but woman of man; ⁹ for man also was not created because of the woman, but woman because of the man.

¹⁰ for we are his creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, in which God before appointed that we should walk.

²⁶ the mystery concealed from ages and from generations, but now it has been manifested to his saints,

³ who forbid to marry, [command] to abstain from meat, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by the faithful and those who know the truth.

¹¹ give us to-day our essential bread,

²⁵ On this account I tell you, be not anxious for your soul, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, what you shall put on, is not the soul more than food, and the body more than clothing? ²⁶ Look at the birds of heaven; they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into store-houses; but your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?

¹⁷ although indeed he left not himself without a witness, doing good, giving rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

²⁴ The God who made the world and all things in it, this [God] being Lord of heaven and earth dwells not in temples made with hands, ²⁵ neither is he served by the hands of men as needing any thing, since he gives to all life, and breath, and all things;

²⁸ For in him we live, and move, and are; as some also of your own poets have said, For we are his offspring.

^{17 (2:14)} Charge the rich in the present life not to be high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God who gives us all things richly to enjoy,

⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be rejected, [but] to be received with thanksgiving;
