^{1 (1:1)} IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

²³ Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel; which is interpreted, God is with us.

² This [Word] was in the beginning with God.

^{14 (1:3)} And the Word became flesh and tabernacled with us and we beheld his glory, a glory as of an only child with a father, full of grace and truth.

¹⁸ No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he declared [him].

³ without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither a beginning of days nor end of life, but being made like the Son of God, continues a priest forever.

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, to-day, and forever.
