¹ Then David said, "This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel. ² And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew worked stones to build the house of God. ³ And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight; ⁴ also cedar trees in abundance: For the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David. ⁵ And David said, "Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death. ⁶ Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build a house for the LORD God of Israel. ⁷ And David said to Solomon, "My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the LORD my God: ⁸ But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, "You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars: You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight. ⁹ Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around: For his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. ¹⁰ He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever. ¹¹ Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you. ¹² Only the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God. ¹³ Then you shall prosper, if you take heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: Be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. ¹⁴ Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: Timber also and stone have I prepared; and you may add thereto. ¹⁵ Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work. ¹⁶ Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with you. ¹⁷ David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, ¹⁸ is not the LORD your God with you? And has he not given you rest on every side? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people. ¹⁹ Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build you the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.

¹⁷ And he was afraid, and said, "How frightful is this place! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."

⁵ But to the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even to his habitation shall you seek, and thither you shall come: ⁶ And thither you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and of your flocks: ⁷ And there you shall eat before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice in all that you put your hand to, you and your households, in which the LORD your God has blessed you.

¹¹ then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall you bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to the LORD:

¹⁸ And Gad came that day to David, and said to him, "Go up, raise an altar to the LORD in the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

²² But if you say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: Is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and Jerusalem, You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?

¹⁸ Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar to the LORD in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. ¹⁹ And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spoke in the name of the LORD. ²⁰ And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat. ²¹ And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground. ²² Then David said to Ornan, "Grant me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar in it to the LORD: You shall grant it me for the full price: That the plague may be stayed from the people. ²³ And Ornan said to David, "Take it to you, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: Lo, I give you the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the food offering; I give it all. ²⁴ And king David said to Ornan, "No; but I will truly buy it for the full price: For I will not take that which is your for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost. ²⁵ So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight. ²⁶ And David built an altar to the LORD there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering. ²⁷ And the LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into its sheath. ²⁸ At that time when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.

¹ Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in Mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

⁵ since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel: ⁶ But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

¹² Has not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, "You shall worship before one altar, and burn incense on it?

⁶⁰ So that He forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which He placed among men;

⁶⁷ Moreover He refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: ⁶⁸ But chose the tribe of Judah, the Mount Zion which He loved. ⁶⁹ And He built His sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which He has established forever.

¹³ For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation. ¹⁴ "This is My rest forever: Here I will dwell; for I have desired it.

²⁰ Our fathers worshiped upon this mountain; and you all say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship." ²¹ Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you shall neither upon this mountain, nor even at Jerusalem, worship the Father. ²² You worship what you do not know: We know what we worship: For salvation is of the Jews.

¹¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: And they built David a house.

¹⁷ And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house. ¹⁸ And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did hew them, and the stone squarers: So they prepared timber and stones to build the house.

⁷ And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: So that there was neither hammer nor ax nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

⁹ All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, inside and outside, even from the foundation to the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court. ¹⁰ And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits. ¹¹ And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars. ¹² And the great court all around was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the LORD, and for the porch of the house.

²⁰ And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel, ²¹ their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, on those did Solomon levy a tribute of servantry to this day.

¹² and to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

¹ Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house.

¹⁷ And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering with which David his father had numbered them; and they were found a hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.

⁷ As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel, ⁸ but of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.

⁷ They gave money also to the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, to them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

⁵ And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. ⁶ But you shall be named the Priests of the LORD: Men shall call you the Ministers of our God: You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory you yourselves shall boast.

¹² because at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

¹⁹ Now therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; ²⁰ and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone; ²¹ in whom all the building, being fitly framed together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord: ²² In whom you also are built together as a habitation of God through the Spirit.

⁴⁷ And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceedingly many: Neither was the weight of the brass found out.

¹⁴ Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: Timber also and stone have I prepared; and you may add thereto.

² Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistering stones, and of diverse colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

⁷ and gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.

¹⁸ Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance: For the weight of the brass could not be found out.

²⁰ The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brazen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: The brass of all these vessels was without weight.

⁶ Now therefore command you that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with your servants: And to you will I give hire for your servants according to all that you shall appoint: For you know that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like to the Sidonians. ⁷ And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, "Blessed be the LORD this day, which has given to David a wise son over this great people. ⁸ And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, "I have considered the things which you sent to me for: And I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir. ⁹ My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea: And I will convey them by sea in floats to the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and you shall receive them: And you shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household. ¹⁰ So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.

³ And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, "As you did deal with David my father, and sent him cedars to build him a house to dwell in it, even so deal with me.

² And he said to them, "I am a hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: Also the LORD has said to me, You shall not go over this Jordan. ³ The LORD your God, he will go over before you, and he will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall possess them: And Joshua, he shall go over before you, as the LORD has said. ⁴ And the LORD shall do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and to the land of them, whom he destroyed. ⁵ And the LORD shall give them up before your face, that you may do to them according to all the commandments which I have commanded you. ⁶ Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: For the LORD your God, he it is that does go with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you. ⁷ And Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: For you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.

⁷ And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father: And I am but a little child: I do not know how to go out or come in.

⁸ And at this house, which is high, everyone that passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, "Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?

¹ Furthermore David the king said to all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: For the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.

⁵ And the house which I build is great: For great is our God above all gods.

²¹ And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to everyone that passes by it; so that he shall say, "Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?

⁷ And there are gathered to him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

¹² But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you go.

¹¹ Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised You, is burned up with fire: And all our pleasant things are laid waste.

²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: But they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things in that place: Therefore have I set it far from them.

³ 'Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? And how do you see it now? Is it not in your eyes but nothing in comparison to before?

⁹ 'The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former', says the LORD of hosts: 'And in this place I will give peace', says the LORD of hosts."

⁵ Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and gifts, He said,

³⁰ He must increase, but I must decrease.

³⁷ Indeed this saying is true, 'One sows, and another reaps.' ³⁸ I sent you to reap that which you have not bestowed any labor: Other men labored, and you have entered into their labors."

⁴ I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: The night is coming, when no man can work.

¹ Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

¹³ Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; ¹⁴ knowing that shortly I must put off my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me. ¹⁵ Moreover, I will endeavor that after my decease you may be able to have these things always in remembrance.

¹⁸ And the LORD said to Moses, "Take you Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay your hand upon him; ¹⁹ and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.

²³ And he laid his hands on him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

¹⁴ And the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, your days approach that you must die: Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.

²³ And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, "Be strong and of a good courage: For you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: And I will be with you.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth. ¹⁹ Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: ²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." Amen.

² until the day in which He was taken up, after that He gave commandments through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen:

²⁵ "And now behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no longer. ²⁶ Therefore I testify for the record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God. ²⁸ Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He has purchased with His own blood. ²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ Also men shall arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after themselves. ³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that for a span of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

²¹ I charge you before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that you observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

¹³ I authoritatively give you instructions in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who witnessed a good confession before Pontius Pilate; ¹⁴ that you keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: ¹⁵ Which in His times He shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; ¹⁶ who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; whom no man has seen, nor can see: To whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen. ¹⁷ Charge those that are rich in this world, that they are not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;

¹ Therefore, I charge you before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:

⁵ But to the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even to his habitation shall you seek, and thither you shall come:

²¹ If the place which the LORD your God has chosen to put his name there be too far from you, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock, which the LORD has given you, as I have commanded you, and you shall eat in your gates whatever your soul lusts after.

² that the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains. ³ And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in your heart; for the LORD is with you.

²⁹ That your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, "My name shall be there: That you may listen to the prayer which your servant shall make toward this place.

³ And the LORD said to him, "I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me: I have hallowed this house, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

¹ Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, See, I dwell in a house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remains under curtains. ² Then Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you. ³ And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying, ⁴ go and tell David my servant, Thus says the LORD, You shall not build me a house to dwell in: ⁵ For I have not dwelled in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another. ⁶ Wherever I have walked with all Israel, spoke I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, "Why have you not built me a house of cedars? ⁷ Now therefore thus shall you say to my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that you should be ruler over my people Israel: ⁸ And I have been with you wherever you have walked, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth. ⁹ Also I will ordain a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning, ¹⁰ and since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you a house. ¹¹ And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. ¹² He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. ¹³ I will be his father, and he shall be my son: And I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before you: ¹⁴ But I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom forever: And his throne shall be established forevermore. ¹⁵ According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.

² Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said, "Hear me, my brothers, and my people: As for me, I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building: ³ But God said to me, You shall not build a house for my name, because you have been a man of war, and have shed blood. ⁴ However, the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever: For he has chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel: ⁵ And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. ⁶ And he said to me, 'Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts: For I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. ⁷ Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he be constant to do My commandments and my judgments, as at this day. ⁸ Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: That you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you forever. ⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: For the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: If you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. ¹⁰ Take heed now; for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary: Be strong, and do it. ¹¹ Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of its houses, and of its treasuries, and of the upper chambers of it, and of the inner parlors of it, and of the place of the mercy seat, ¹² and the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers all around, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things: ¹³ Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD. ¹⁴ He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service: ¹⁵ Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for its lamps: And for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for its lamps, according to the use of every candlestick. ¹⁶ And by weight he gave gold for the tables of show-bread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver: ¹⁷ Also pure gold for the flesh-hooks, and the bowls, and the cups: And for the golden basins he gave gold by weight for every basin; and likewise silver by weight for every basin of silver: ¹⁸ And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD. ¹⁹ All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern. ²⁰ And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: Fear not, nor be dismayed: For the LORD God, even my God, will be with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. ²¹ And behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with you for all the service of the house of God: And there shall be with you for all manner of workmanship every willing skillful man, for any manner of service: Also the princes and all the people will be wholly at your commandment.

³ Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of my own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house.

⁴ Behold, I build a house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual show-bread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.

⁷ Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. ⁸ But the LORD said to David my father, For as much as it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well in that it was in your heart: ⁹ Notwithstanding you shall not build the house; but your son which shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house for my name.

¹² And the God that has caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.

⁵ until I find out a place for the LORD, a habitation for the Mighty God of Jacob."

²⁰ And purify all your clothing, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats' hair, and all things made of wood.

²⁴ And you shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean, and afterward you shall come into the camp.

⁵ go and tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD, Shall you build me a house for me to dwell in? ⁶ Whereas I have not dwelled in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle. ⁷ In all the places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel spoke I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, "Why build you not me a house of cedar? ⁸ Now therefore so shall you say to my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel: ⁹ And I was with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies out of your sight, and have made you a great name, like to the name of the great men that are in the earth. ¹⁰ Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime, ¹¹ and as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused you to rest from all your enemies. Also the LORD tells you that he will make you a house.

³ you know how that David my father could not build a house to the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

⁴ go and tell David my servant, Thus says the LORD, You shall not build me a house to dwell in: ⁵ For I have not dwelled in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another. ⁶ Wherever I have walked with all Israel, spoke I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, "Why have you not built me a house of cedars? ⁷ Now therefore thus shall you say to my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that you should be ruler over my people Israel: ⁸ And I have been with you wherever you have walked, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth. ⁹ Also I will ordain a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning, ¹⁰ and since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you a house.

³ But God said to me, You shall not build a house for my name, because you have been a man of war, and have shed blood.

²⁴ Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.Jehovahshalom; that is, The LORD send peace

¹² And when your days be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, which shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹³ He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

²⁴ And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in to her, and lay with her: And she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon: And the LORD loved him. ²⁵ And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.

²⁰ Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.

²⁵ And Judah and Israel dwelled safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

⁴ But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil result.

¹¹ And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

⁵ And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. ⁶ And he said to me, 'Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts: For I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. ⁷ Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he be constant to do My commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

²⁹ When he gives quietness, who then can make trouble? And when he hides his face, who then can behold him? Whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

⁷ In His days the righteous shall flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.so long as the moon endures: In Hebrew, until there is no moon

⁶ For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given: And the government shall be upon His shoulder: And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

¹² LORD, You will ordain peace for us: For You have also worked all our works in us.

⁷ I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create calamity: I the LORD do all these things.

¹⁹ "I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him who is far off, and to him who is near", said the LORD; "and I will heal him."

¹² For thus says the LORD, "Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: Then you shall suck, you shall be borne on her sides, and be dandled on her knees.

¹³ He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. ¹⁴ I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

⁵ And behold, I purpose to build a house to the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, "Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your room, he shall build a house to my name.

¹² He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. ¹³ I will be his father, and he shall be my son: And I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before you: ¹⁴ But I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom forever: And his throne shall be established forevermore.

²⁶ He shall cry to Me, 'You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.'

³⁶ His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me. ³⁷ It shall be established forever like the moon, and like a faithful witness in heaven." Selah.

⁷ Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

¹² and speak to him, saying, 'Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, "Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and He shall grow up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of the LORD: ¹³ He shall even build the temple of the LORD; and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon His throne; and He shall be a priest upon His throne: And the counsel of peace shall be between them both." '

⁵ For to which of the angels did He ever say, "You are My Son, today I have begotten You"? And again, "I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son"?

¹⁶ Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with you.

²⁰ And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: Fear not, nor be dismayed: For the LORD God, even my God, will be with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

²³ "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel", which being interpreted is, "God with us."

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." Amen.

³³ Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

²² The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

⁶ Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

⁹ Give therefore your servant an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and bad: For who is able to judge this your so great a people? ¹⁰ And the speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing. ¹¹ And God said to him, "Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life; neither have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies; but have asked for yourself understanding to discern judgment; ¹² behold, I have done according to your words: Lo, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like to you.

¹ But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites: ² Of the nations concerning which the LORD said to the children of Israel, You shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in to you: For surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon joined to these in love. ³ And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: And his wives turned away his heart. ⁴ For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: And his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. ⁵ For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. ⁶ And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. ⁷ Then did Solomon build a high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon. ⁸ And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed to their gods. ⁹ And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared to him twice, ¹⁰ and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: But he kept not that which the LORD commanded.

¹⁰ Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: For who can judge this your people, that is so great?

¹ A Psalm for Solomon. Give the king Your judgments, O God, and Your righteousness to the king's son.

⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom: Out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. ⁷ He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: He is a buckler shield to those that walk uprightly.

⁸ The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: But the folly of fools is deceit.

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to speak against nor resist.

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all people liberally, and without suffering reproach; and it shall be given to him.

³ And by this we shall know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.

⁶ Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: For the LORD your God, he it is that does go with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you. ⁷ And Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: For you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it. ⁸ And the LORD, he it is that does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: Fear not, neither be dismayed.

⁶ Be strong and of a good courage: For to this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them. ⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you: Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. ⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. ⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

¹⁸ Whoever he be that does rebel against your commandment, and will not listen to your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to death: Only be strong and of a good courage.

³ and keep the charge of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself:

⁷ Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he be constant to do My commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

¹⁰ Take heed now; for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary: Be strong, and do it.

²⁰ And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: And as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Hear me, O Judah, an d all you inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall you be established; believe his prophets, so shall you prosper.

⁶ Then I shall not be ashamed, when I have respect to all Your commandments.

³ Thus says the LORD; "Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: And do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place. ⁴ For if you indeed do this thing, then there shall enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.

¹⁵ And Jesus answering said to him, "Let it be so now: For thus it befits us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he let Him.

²² And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David to be their king; to whom also He gave testimony, and said, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who shall fulfill all My will.'

¹³ Watch, stand fast in the faith, carry through like men, be strong.

² Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

¹ You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

⁸ If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself", you do well:

¹⁴ Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,

¹⁶ The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

³ And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;

⁴ Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses with: ⁵ The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day to the LORD? ⁶ Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly, ⁷ and gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.

² how that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

⁶ And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine-twined linen, with cunning work.

³ And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, ⁴ to devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, ⁵ and in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

³² and to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

³⁵ He has filled them with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of those that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work."

¹⁴ He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: And he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and worked all his work.

² moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you, and all this people, to the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

⁵ There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: As I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.

⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

¹⁰ And the LORD said to Joshua, "Get you up; why lie you thus on your face?

¹⁴ And Deborah said to Barak, "Up; for this is the day in which the LORD has delivered Sisera into your hand: Is not the LORD gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

⁹ And they said, "Arise, that we may go up against them: For we have seen the land, and behold, it is very good: And are you still? Be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land. ¹⁰ When you go, you shall come to a people secure, and to a large land: For God has given it into your hands; a place where there is no want of anything that is in the earth.

³⁷ Moreover David said, "The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine." And Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you."

¹³ the LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: But if it please my father to do you evil, then I will disclose it to you, and send you away, that you may go in peace: And the LORD be with you, as he has been with my father.

¹¹ Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you.

¹⁷ You shall not need to fight in this battle: Set yourselves, stand you still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: Fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: For the LORD will be with you.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, seeing you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹⁴ Therefore He says: "Awake, you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light."

¹² Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. ¹³ For it is God which works in you both to will and to do His good pleasure.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

¹ And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, to Jerusalem. ² Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said, "Hear me, my brothers, and my people: As for me, I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building: ³ But God said to me, You shall not build a house for my name, because you have been a man of war, and have shed blood. ⁴ However, the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever: For he has chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel: ⁵ And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. ⁶ And he said to me, 'Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts: For I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

²¹ And behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with you for all the service of the house of God: And there shall be with you for all manner of workmanship every willing skillful man, for any manner of service: Also the princes and all the people will be wholly at your commandment.

⁶ Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly,

² That you receive her in the Lord, as befits saints, and that you assist her in whatever business she has need of you: For she has been an aid of many, and of myself also. ³ Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:

³ And I entreat you also, co-yoked true companions, help those women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with my other fellow-laborers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

⁸ We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow-helpers to the truth.

¹⁰ But when you go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God gives you to inherit, and when he gives you rest from all your enemies all around, so that you dwell in safety; ¹¹ then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall you bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to the LORD:

⁴ for the LORD your God is he that goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

⁴² And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

⁴ And now the LORD your God has given rest to your brothers, as he promised them: Therefore now return yourself, and get you to your tents, and to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side of the Jordan.

¹ And it came to pass a long time after that the LORD had given rest to Israel from all their enemies all around, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age.

¹² And the angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, "The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor. ¹³ And Gideon said to him, "Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? And where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, "Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? But now the LORD has forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. ¹⁴ And the LORD looked on him, and said, "Go in this your might, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: Have I not sent you?

²⁸ I implore you, forgive the trespass of your handmaid: For the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fights the battles of the LORD, and evil has not been found in you all your days.

¹⁹ And David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go up to the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand? And the LORD said to David, "Go up: For I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand. ²⁰ And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, "The LORD has broken forth on my enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

¹ And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest all around from all his enemies;

⁹ Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around: For his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

²⁵ For David said, "The LORD God of Israel has given rest to his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem forever:

¹ To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, Maschil. We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work You did in their days, in the times of old. ² How you drove out the heathen with Your hand, and planted them; how You afflicted the people, and cast them out. ³ For they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: But Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You brought to pass a favor to them. ⁴ You are my King, O God: Command deliverances for Jacob. ⁵ Through You will we push down our enemies: Through Your name will we tread under us those that rise up against us.

³¹ Then the churches had rest throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, were multiplied.

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

²⁹ But if from there you shall seek the LORD your God, you shall find him, if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

⁴⁶ And he said to them, "Set your hearts to all the words which I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. ⁴⁷ For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: And through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it.

⁶ And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD to his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.

²¹ And I have set there a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

¹¹ Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

⁷ And David said to Solomon, "My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the LORD my God:

⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: For the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: If you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

⁷ And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD to his place, to the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:

¹¹ And in it have I put the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.

³ And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

⁴ One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.

¹ Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen on you.

³ And I set my face toward the LORD God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

⁵ Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; "Consider your ways.

²³ Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave to the Lord.

¹⁶ And now why do you tarry? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'
