⁵¹ So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.

¹⁶ And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: Six hundred shekels of gold went to one target. ¹⁷ And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

¹⁸ Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: And king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelled at Damascus, saying,

¹³ And he carried out there all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.

Selah. ³⁸ But You have cast off and abhorred, You have been very angry with Your anointed. ³⁹ You have made void the covenant of Your servant: You have profaned his crown by casting it to the ground. ⁴⁰ You have broken down all his hedges; You have brought his strongholds to ruin. ⁴¹ All who pass by the way plunder him: He is a reproach to his neighbors. ⁴² You have set up the right hand of his adversaries; You have made all his enemies rejoice. ⁴³ You also have turned the edge of his sword, and have not made him to stand in the battle. ⁴⁴ You have made his glory to cease, and have thrown his throne down to the ground. ⁴⁵ You have shortened the days of his youth: You have covered him with shame. ⁵ Will you set your eyes upon that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

¹⁸ Yes, I hated all my labor in which I toiled under the sun: Because I should leave it to the man that shall be after me. ¹⁹ And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? Yet he shall have rule over all my labor in which I have labored, and in which I have showed myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity.
