¹ And Solomon determined to build a house for the name of the LORD, and a house for his kingdom. ² And Solomon told out three score and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and eighty thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them. ³ And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, "As you did deal with David my father, and sent him cedars to build him a house to dwell in it, even so deal with me. ⁴ Behold, I build a house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual show-bread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel. ⁵ And the house which I build is great: For great is our God above all gods. ⁶ But who is able to build him a house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? Who am I then, that I should build him a house, save only to burn sacrifice before him? ⁷ Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide. ⁸ Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: For I know that your servants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and behold, my servants shall be with your servants, ⁹ even to prepare me timber in abundance: For the house which I am about to build shall be wonderful great. ¹⁰ And behold, I will give to your servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil. ¹¹ Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD has loved his people, he has made you king over them. ¹² Huram said moreover, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build a house for the LORD, and a house for his kingdom. ¹³ And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's, ¹⁴ the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skillful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of engraving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with your cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David your father. ¹⁵ Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord has spoken of, let him send to his servants: ¹⁶ And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as you shall need: And we will bring it to you in floats by sea to Joppa; and you shall carry it up to Jerusalem. ¹⁷ And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering with which David his father had numbered them; and they were found a hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred. ¹⁸ And he set three score and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and eighty thousand to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people a work.

⁵ But to the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even to his habitation shall you seek, and thither you shall come:

¹¹ then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall you bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to the LORD:

⁵⁸ If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

⁵ And behold, I purpose to build a house to the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, "Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your room, he shall build a house to my name.

¹ But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

¹⁸ And the LORD said to David my father, Whereas it was in your heart to build a house to my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

²⁰ And the LORD has performed his word that he spoke, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

¹ And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do,

¹⁰ He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.

⁹ In this manner, therefore, pray: 'Our Father which is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. ¹⁰ Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

¹⁵ And Solomon had three score and ten thousand that bore burdens, and eighty thousand hewers in the mountains; ¹⁶ beside the chief of Solomon's officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that worked in the work.

¹¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: And they built David a house.

¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: For Hiram was ever a lover of David. ² And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying, ³ you know how that David my father could not build a house to the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet. ⁴ But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil result. ⁵ And behold, I purpose to build a house to the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, "Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your room, he shall build a house to my name. ⁶ Now therefore command you that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with your servants: And to you will I give hire for your servants according to all that you shall appoint: For you know that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like to the Sidonians. ⁷ And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, "Blessed be the LORD this day, which has given to David a wise son over this great people. ⁸ And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, "I have considered the things which you sent to me for: And I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir. ⁹ My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea: And I will convey them by sea in floats to the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and you shall receive them: And you shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household. ¹⁰ So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire. ¹¹ And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: Thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.

¹ Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house.

³⁰ And you shall set show-bread upon the table before Me always.

¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ² speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. ³ Six days shall work be done: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no work in it: It is the Sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. ⁴ These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their seasons. ⁵ In the fourteenth day of the first month at sunset is the LORD's Passover. ⁶ And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to the LORD: Seven days you must eat unleavened bread. ⁷ In the first day you shall have a holy convocation: You shall do no servile work in it. ⁸ But you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD seven days: In the seventh day is a holy convocation: You shall do no servile work in it. ⁹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁰ speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When you be come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest: ¹¹ And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: On the next day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. ¹² And you shall offer that day when you wave the sheaf a he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering to the LORD. ¹³ And the food offering of it shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire to the LORD for a sweet smell: And the drink offering of it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. ¹⁴ And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain kernels, nor green ears, until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God: It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. ¹⁵ And you shall count to you from the next day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: ¹⁶ Even to the next day after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new food offering to the LORD. ¹⁷ You shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven; they are the firstfruits to the LORD.

⁵ And you shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: Two tenth deals shall be in one cake. ⁶ And you shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure table before the LORD. ⁷ And you shall put pure frankincense on each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to the LORD. ⁸ Every Sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. ⁹ And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: For it is most holy to him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.

¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ² command the children of Israel, and say to them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet smell to me, shall you observe to offer to me in their due season. ³ And you shall say to them, This is the offering made by fire which you shall offer to the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering. ⁴ The one lamb shall you offer in the morning, and the other lamb shall you offer at sunset; ⁵ and a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a food offering, mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil. ⁶ It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in Mount Sinai for a sweet smell, a sacrifice made by fire to the LORD. ⁷ And the drink offering of it shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb: In the holy place shall you cause the strong wine to be poured to the LORD for a drink offering. ⁸ And the other lamb shall you offer at sunset: As the food offering of the morning, and as the drink offering of it, you shall offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet smell to the LORD. ⁹ And on the Sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a food offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering of it: ¹⁰ This is the burnt offering of every Sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering. ¹¹ And in the beginnings of your months you shall offer a burnt offering to the LORD; two young bulls, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot; ¹² and three tenth deals of flour for a food offering, mingled with oil, for one bull; and two tenth deals of flour for a food offering, mingled with oil, for one ram; ¹³ and a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a food offering to one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet smell, a sacrifice made by fire to the LORD. ¹⁴ And their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine to a bull, and the third part of a hin to a ram, and a fourth part of a hin to a lamb: This is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year. ¹⁵ And one kid of the goats for a sin offering to the LORD shall be offered, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering. ¹⁶ And on the fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover of the LORD. ¹⁷ And on the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: Seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten. ¹⁸ In the first day shall be a holy convocation; you shall do no manner of servile work in it: ¹⁹ But you shall offer a sacrifice made by fire for a burnt offering to the LORD; two young bulls, and one ram, and seven lambs of the first year: They shall be to you without blemish: ²⁰ And their food offering shall be of flour mingled with oil: Three tenth deals shall you offer for a bull, and two tenth deals for a ram; ²¹ A several tenth deal shall you offer for every lamb, throughout the seven lambs: ²² And one goat for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you. ²³ You shall offer these beside the burnt offering in the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering. ²⁴ After this manner you shall offer daily, throughout the seven days, the meat of the sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet smell to the LORD: It shall be offered beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering. ²⁵ And on the seventh day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work. ²⁶ Also in the day of the firstfruits, when you bring a new food offering to the LORD, after your weeks be out, you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work: ²⁷ But you shall offer the burnt offering for a sweet smell to the LORD; two young bulls, one ram, seven lambs of the first year; ²⁸ and their food offering of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals to one bull, two tenth deals to one ram, ²⁹ A several tenth deal to one lamb, throughout the seven lambs;

⁶³ And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

¹ And Solomon determined to build a house for the name of the LORD, and a house for his kingdom.

¹¹ Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

⁸ And at this house, which is high, everyone that passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, "Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?

²⁵ For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: He also is to be feared above all gods.

¹ Furthermore David the king said to all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: For the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.

⁹ even to prepare me timber in abundance: For the house which I am about to build shall be wonderful great.

⁸ Among the gods there is none like You, O LORD; neither are there any works like Your works. ⁹ All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O LORD; and shall glorify Your name.

⁵ For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

³ Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.

⁶ For as much as there is none like to You, O LORD; You are great, and Your name is great in might.

²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: But they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things in that place: Therefore have I set it far from them.

¹⁵ Which in His times He shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

¹¹ And Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?"

⁵ But to the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even to his habitation shall you seek, and thither you shall come: ⁶ And thither you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and of your flocks:

¹⁴ But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you.

²⁶ Only your holy things which you have, and your vows, you shall take, and go to the place which the LORD shall choose:

¹⁸ Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, "Who am I, O Lord GOD? And what is my house, that you have brought me till now?

²⁷ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built?

¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of you, and of your own have we given you.

¹⁰ Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: For who can judge this your people, that is so great?

¹⁸ But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house which I have built!

¹ Thus says the LORD, "The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool: Where is the house that you build to Me? And where is the place of My rest?

⁴⁸ "Nevertheless, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands; as the prophet says, ⁴⁹ 'Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool: What house will you build Me? says the LORD: Or what is the place of My rest?

¹⁶ To the one we are the savour of death leading to death; and to the other the savor of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

⁸ To me, who am less than the least of all saints, this grace is given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

³ And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, ⁴ to devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, ⁵ and in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

¹⁴ He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: And he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and worked all his work.

¹⁵ Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work. ¹⁶ Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with you.

¹³ And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's, ¹⁴ the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skillful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of engraving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with your cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David your father.

²⁶ For his God does instruct him to discretion, and does teach him.

²⁹ This also comes forth from the LORD of hosts, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in operation.

¹⁰ "And the sons of strangers shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you: For in My wrath I smote you, but in My favor I have had mercy on you.

⁶ Now therefore command you that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with your servants: And to you will I give hire for your servants according to all that you shall appoint: For you know that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like to the Sidonians.

¹¹ And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.

¹⁰ And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones. ¹¹ And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the LORD, and to the king's palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: And there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.

⁵ And the house which I build is great: For great is our God above all gods.

²¹ And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to everyone that passes by it; so that he shall say, "Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?

¹¹ And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: Thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.

²⁶ And it was a hand breadth thick, and its brim was worked like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: It contained two thousand baths.

³⁸ Then made he ten lavers of brass: One laver contained forty baths: And every laver was four cubits: And on every one of the ten bases one laver.

²² to a hundred talents of silver, and to a hundred measures of wheat, and to a hundred baths of wine, and to a hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.

⁷ And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give: For the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.

⁷ Render therefore to all their dues: Tribute to whom tribute is due; customs to whom customs; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor. ⁸ Owe no man anything, except to love one another: For he that loves another has fulfilled the law.

⁷ The LORD did not set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all people: ⁸ But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn to your fathers, has the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of servants, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

⁹ Blessed be the LORD your God, which delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel: Because the LORD loved Israel forever, therefore made he you king, to do judgment and justice.

⁸ Blessed be the LORD your God, which delighted in you to set you on his throne, to be king for the LORD your God: Because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore made he you king over them, to do judgment and justice.

¹⁷ His name shall endure forever: His name shall be continued as long as the sun: And men shall be blessed in Him: All nations shall call Him blessed.

¹ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. ² And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

⁷ And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, "Blessed be the LORD this day, which has given to David a wise son over this great people.

²⁰ And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshiped the LORD, and the king.

¹⁰ Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: For who can judge this your people, that is so great? ¹¹ And God said to Solomon, "Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of your enemies, neither yet have asked long life; but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge my people, over whom I have made you king: ¹² Wisdom and knowledge is granted to you; and I will give you riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had that have been before you, neither shall there any after you have the like.

⁶ By the Word of the LORD the heavens were made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

¹⁸ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things. ¹⁹ And blessed be His glorious name forever: And let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen.

⁵ By reason of the voice of my groaning, my bones cleave to my skin.

²⁵ Of old You have laid the foundation of the earth: And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

⁸ Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

⁵ To Him that by wisdom made the heavens: For His mercy endures forever. ⁶ To Him that outstretched the earth above the waters: For His mercy endures forever.

⁵ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: ⁶ Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is in them: Which keeps truth forever:

¹⁰ But the LORD is the true God, He is the living God, and an everlasting King: At His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide His indignation.

⁶⁸ "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He has visited and redeemed His people,

²⁴ And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "Lord, You are God, which has made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that is in them:

¹⁵ and saying, "Sirs, why do you do these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach to you that you should turn from these vanities to the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them:

¹⁶ For all things were created by Him that are in heaven, and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: All things were created by Him, and for Him: ¹⁷ And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

¹¹ "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: For You have created all things, and for Your pleasure they are and were created."

⁶ and swore by Him that lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that are in it, the earth, and the things that are in it, and the sea, and the things which are in it, that there should not be time any longer:

¹⁶ The pots also, and the shovels, and the flesh-hooks, and all their instruments, did Huram his father make to king Solomon for the house of the LORD of bright brass.

³ And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, ⁴ to devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

¹³ And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre. ¹⁴ He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: And he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and worked all his work.

⁷ Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.

¹⁰ And behold, I will give to your servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.

⁴⁶ and Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.

⁸ And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, "I have considered the things which you sent to me for: And I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir. ⁹ My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea: And I will convey them by sea in floats to the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and you shall receive them: And you shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.

⁷ They gave money also to the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, to them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

³ All things were made by Him; and without Him nothing was made that was made.

³⁶ Now at Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is translated Dorcas: This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds, which she did.

³² Therefore send to Joppa, and call Simon to this place, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: Who, when he comes, shall speak to you.'

¹³ And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men. ¹⁴ And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: A month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: And Adoniram was over the levy.

²⁰ And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel, ²¹ their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, on those did Solomon levy a tribute of servantry to this day.

² And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew worked stones to build the house of God.

² And Solomon told out three score and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and eighty thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.

⁷ As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel, ⁸ but of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.
