2 Chronicles 30 Cross References - TKJU

1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to the LORD God of Israel. 2 For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the Passover in the second month. 3 For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem. 4 And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation. 5 So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover to the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: For they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written. 6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, "You children of Israel, turn again to the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria. 7 And be not you like your fathers, and like your brothers, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as you see. 8 Now be you not stiff-necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever: And serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you. 9 For if you turn again to the LORD, your brothers and your children shall find compassion before those that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: For the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him. 10 So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even to Zebulun: But they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them. 11 Nevertheless diverse of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem. 12 Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD. 13 And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation. 14 And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron. 15 Then they killed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: And the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD. 16 And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: The priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites. 17 For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: Therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the Passover lambs for everyone that was not clean, to sanctify them to the LORD. 18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the Passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, "The good LORD pardon every one 19 That prepares his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary. 20 And the LORD listened to Hezekiah, and healed the people. 21 And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: And the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments to the LORD. 22 And Hezekiah spoke comfortably to all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: And they ate throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers. 23 And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: And they kept other seven days with gladness. 24 For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep: And a great number of priests sanctified themselves. 25 And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelled in Judah, rejoiced. 26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem: For since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem. 27 Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: And their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even to heaven.

Daniel 4:1-33

1 Nebuchadnezzar the king, to all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth: "Peace be multiplied to you. 2 I thought it would be good to show the signs and wonders that the high God has worked in regard to me. 3 How great are His signs! And how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation." 4 I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace: 5 I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me. 6 Therefore I made a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. 7 Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in: And I told the dream before them; but they did not make the interpretation of it known to me. 8 But at last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: And I told the dream before him, saying, 9 "O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no secret troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation of it. 10 Thus were the visions of my head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height of it was great. 11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height of it reached to heaven, and the sight of it to the end of all the earth: 12 Its leaves were fair, and its fruit plentiful, and in it was food for all: The wild beasts of the field had shade under it, and the birds of heaven dwelt in its boughs, and all flesh was fed by it. 13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and behold, a watcher and a holy one came down from heaven; 14 he cried aloud, and said thus, 'Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: Let the beasts get away from under it, and the birds from his branches: 15 Nevertheless, leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: 16 Let his heart be changed from a man's, and let a beast's heart be given to him; and let seven times pass over him. 17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: To the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will, and sets up over it the basest of men.' 18 This dream I, king Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation of it, because all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make the interpretation known to me: But you are able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in you." 19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spoke, and said, "Belteshazzar, do not let the dream, or the interpretation of it trouble you." Belteshazzar answered and said, "My lord, the dream be to those who hate you, and the interpretation of it to your enemies. 20 The tree that you saw, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached to the heaven, and the sight of it to all the earth; 21 whose leaves were fair, and its fruit plentiful, and in it was food for all; under which the wild beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the birds of the heaven had their habitation: 22 It is you, O king, that are grown and have become strong: For your greatness has grown, and reaches to heaven, and your dominion to the end of the earth. 23 And as the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, 'Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the wild beasts of the field, until seven times pass over him;' 24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: 25 That they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts of the field, and they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will. 26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; your kingdom shall be sure to you, after that you shall make known that the heavens do rule. 27 Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of your tranquility." 28 All this came upon king Nebuchadnezzar. 29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon. 30 The king spoke, and said, "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?" 31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, "O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken; the kingdom has departed from you. 32 And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts of the field: They shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He wills." 33 The same hour the thing was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: And he was driven from men, and ate grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, until his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.
