Acts 13 Cross References - TKJU

1 Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers; like Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen, who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." 3 Then, when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. 4 So then, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, they departed to Seleucia; and from there they sailed to Cyprus. 5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the Word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: And they also had John as their minister. 6 Moreover when they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: 7 Who was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the Word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn the deputy away from the faith. 9 Then Saul (who also is called Paul), filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him, 10 and said, "O full of all craftiness and all mischief, you child of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? 11 And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a season." And immediately there fell upon him a mist and a darkness; and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand. 12 Then the deputy, when he saw what had been done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord. 13 Now when Paul and his company set sail from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: And John departing from them returned to Jerusalem. 14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down. 15 And after the reading of the Law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, "You men and brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak now." 16 Then Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, "Men of Israel, and you that fear God, give audience. 17 The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a powerful arm He brought them out of it. 18 Then, for a period of about forty years He suffered their mannerisms in the wilderness. 19 And when He had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, He divided their land to them by lot. 20 "And after that He gave judges to them for a period of about four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet. 21 And afterward they desired a king: Therefore God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for a period of forty years. 22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David to be their king; to whom also He gave testimony, and said, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who shall fulfill all My will.' 23 From this man's seed, God has, according to His promise, raised up to Israel a Savior, Jesus: 24 When John had first preached, before His coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, 'Who do you think that I am? I am not He. But behold, there comes One after me, whose shoes of His feet I am not worthy to loose.' 26 "Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whoever among you that fears God, to you the word of this salvation is sent. 27 For those that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning Him. 28 And though they found no cause for death in Him, yet they desired of Pilate that He should be slain. 29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the tree, and laid Him in a sepulchre. 30 But God raised Him from the dead: 31 And He was seen for many days by those that came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. 32 And we declare to you glad tidings, how the promise which was made to the fathers, 33 God has fulfilled the same for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second Psalm, 'You are My Son, this day I have begotten You.' 34 And concerning how He raised Him from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, He spoke in this manner, 'I will give you the sure mercies of David.' 35 Therefore He also says in another Psalm, 'You shall not permit Your Holy One to see corruption.' 36 "For David, after he had served the will of God in his own generation, fell asleep dead, and was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption: 37 But He, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. 38 Therefore let it be known to you, men and brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins: 39 And by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. 40 Beware therefore, lest that which is spoken of in the prophets come upon you; 41 'Behold, you despisers, wonder, and perish: For I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no way believe, though a man declare it to you.' " 42 And when the Jews had gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles entreated that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. 43 Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: Who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. 44 And the next Sabbath day almost the whole city came together to hear the Word of God. 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spoke against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, "It was necessary that the Word of God should first have been spoken to you: But seeing you put it away from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, 'I have set you to be a light to the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.' " 48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. 49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region. 50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the chief men of the city, and stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their borders. 51 But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and came to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 14:1-10

1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus, 2 and said to his servants, "This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works show forth themselves in him." 3 For Herod had laid hold of John and bound him, and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife. 4 Because John said to him, "It is not lawful for you to have her." 5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. 6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. 7 Upon that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she would ask. 8 And she, being instructed beforehand by her mother, said, "Give me John the Baptist's head here on a platter." 9 And the king was sorry: Nevertheless, for the oath's sake, and those who sat with him at the table, he commanded it to be given to her. 10 So he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh: For with a strong hand he shall let them go, and with a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land." 2 And God spoke to Moses, and said to him, "I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by My name JEHOVAH I was not known to them. 4 And I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers. 5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered My covenant. 6 Therefore say to the children of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments: 7 And I will take you to Myself for a people, and I will be to you a God: And you shall know that I am the LORD your God, which brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you into the land, concerning that which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for a heritage: I am the LORD.' " 9 And Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel: But they did not hearken to Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage. 10 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 11 "Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land." 12 And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, "Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened to me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?" 13 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a command pertaining to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt. 14 These are the heads of their fathers' houses: The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel; Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi: These are the families of Reuben.

1 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying, "I will sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously: The horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare Him a habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt Him. 3 The LORD is a Man of war: The LORD is His name. 4 Pharaoh's chariots and his army He has cast into the sea: His chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. 5 The depths have covered them: They sank into the bottom as a stone. 6 Your right hand, O LORD, has become glorious in power: Your right hand, O LORD, has dashed the enemy in pieces. 7 And in the greatness of Your excellency You have overthrown those that rose up against You: You sent forth Your wrath, which consumed them as stubble. 8 And with the blast of Your nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as a heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.' 10 You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them: They sank as lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12 You stretched out Your right hand, the earth swallowed them. 13 You in Your mercy have led forth the people which You have redeemed: You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation. 14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: Sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina. 15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away. 16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of Your arm they shall be as still as a stone; until Your people pass over, O LORD, until the people which You have purchased pass over. 17 You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which You have made for Yourself to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which Your hands have established. 18 The LORD shall reign forever and ever. 19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea. 20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances. 21 And Miriam answered them, "Sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously; He has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea."

6 For you are a holy people to the LORD your God: The LORD your God has chosen you to be a special people to himself, above all people that are on the face of the earth. 7 The LORD did not set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all people: 8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn to your fathers, has the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of servants, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

7 You are the LORD the God, who did choose Abram, and brought him forth out of Ur of the Chaldeans, and gave him the name of Abraham; 8 and found his heart faithful before you, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, "to his seed, and have performed your words; for you are righteous: 9 And did see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red sea; 10 and showed signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: For you knew that they dealt proudly against them. So did you get you a name, as it is this day. 11 And you did divide the sea before them, so that they went through the middle of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors you threw into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters. 12 Moreover you led them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way in which they should go.

Psalms 77:13-20

Selah. 16 The waters saw You, O God, the waters saw You; they were afraid: The depths also were troubled. 17 The clouds poured out water: The skies sent out a sound: Your arrows also went abroad. 18 The voice of Your thunder was in the heaven: The lightning lightened the world: The earth trembled and shook. 19 Your way is in the sea, and Your path in the great waters, and Your footsteps are not known. 20 You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Psalms 78:42-53

42 They did not remember His hand, nor the day when He delivered them from the enemy. 43 How he had worked His signs in Egypt, and His wonders in the field of Zoan: 44 And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink. 45 He sent diverse sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them. 46 He also gave their increase to the caterpillar, and their labor to the locust. 47 He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost. 48 He also gave up their domestic beasts to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts. 49 He cast upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them. 50 He made a way for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence; 51 and smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham: 52 But made His own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. 53 And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear: But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

Psalms 114:1-8

1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; 2 judah was His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion. 3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. 5 What ailed you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you were driven back? 6 You mountains, that you skipped like rams; and you little hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; 8 which turned the rock into a standing pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

1 Yet now hear, O Jacob My servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

Isaiah 63:9-14

9 In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them: In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old. 10 But they rebelled, and vexed His holy Spirit: Therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them. 11 Then He remembered the days of old, Moses, and His people, saying, "Where is He that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of His flock? Where is He that put His holy Spirit within him? 12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with His glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting name? 13 That led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?" 14 As a beast goes down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: So You lead Your people, to make Yourself a glorious name.

Jeremiah 32:20-21

20 Who has set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even to this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and have made Yourself a name, as it is this day; 21 and have brought forth Your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an out stretched arm, and with great terror;

Acts 7:2-53

2 And he said, "Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; the God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran, 3 and said to him, 'Get out of your country, and from your kindred, and come into the land which I shall show you.' 4 Then he came out of the land of the Chaldeans, and dwelt in Charran: And from there, when his father was dead, He moved him into this land, in which you now dwell. 5 And He gave him no inheritance in it, no, not so much as to even set his foot upon: Yet He promised that He would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child. 6 And God spoke in this manner, that his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and treat them evilly four hundred years. 7 'And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage I will judge', said God, 'and after that they shall come out, and serve Me in this place.' 8 Then He gave him the covenant of circumcision: And so Abraham begot Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac begot Jacob; and Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs. 9 "And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: But God was with him, 10 and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. 11 Now there came a famine over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction: And our fathers found no sustenance. 12 But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first. 13 And at the second visit Joseph was made known to his brothers; and Joseph's kindred were made known to Pharaoh. 14 Then Joseph sent for, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, seventy five souls. 15 So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers, 16 and they were carried over into Shechem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money from the sons of Emmor, the father of Shechem. 17 "But when the time of the promise drew near, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, 18 until another king arose, who did not know Joseph. 19 This one dealt cunningly with our kindred, and evilly treated our fathers, so that they threw out their young children, with the intent they might not live. 20 About which time Moses was born, and was exceedingly fair, and nourished in his father's house three months: 21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him as her own son. 22 And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. 23 "And when he was a full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel. 24 And seeing one of them suffer wrongfully, he defended him, and avenged him who was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian: 25 For he supposed that his brethren would have understood that by his hand God would deliver them: But they did not understand. 26 And the next day he showed himself to them as they fought, and would have reconciled them as one again, saying, 'Sirs, you are brethren; why do you wrong one another?' 27 But he who did his neighbor wrong thust him away, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? 28 Will you kill me as you did the Egyptian yesterday?' 29 Then Moses fled at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Midian, where he begot two sons. 30 "And when forty years were expired, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: And as he drew near to observe it, the voice of the Lord came to him, 32 saying, 'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' Then Moses trembled, and dared not behold. 33 'Then the LORD said to him, "Take off your shoes from your feet: For the place where you stand is holy ground. 34 I have seen, I have seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, I have heard their groaning, and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you into Egypt." ' 35 "This Moses whom they refused, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge?' is the same that God sent to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush. 36 He brought them out, after he had shown wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness forty years. 37 "This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, 'The LORD your God shall raise up to you a Prophet from your brethren, similar to me: Him you shall hear.' 38 "This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spoke to him in Mount Sinai, and with our fathers: Who received the lively oracles to give to us: 39 Whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust Him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron, 'Make us gods to go before us: Because, as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.' 41 And they made a calf in those days, offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. 42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, 'O house of Israel, have you offered to Me slain beasts and sacrifices for a period of forty years in the wilderness? 43 Yes, you took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which you made to worship them: And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.' 44 "Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He had appointed, speaking to Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen. 45 Which also our fathers that came afterwards, brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, even until the days of David; 46 who found favor before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob. 47 But Solomon built Him a house. 48 "Nevertheless, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands; as the prophet says, 49 'Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool: What house will you build Me? says the LORD: Or what is the place of My rest? 50 Has My hand not made all these things?' 51 "You stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit: As your fathers did, so you do. 52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain those which foretold of the coming of the Just One; of whom you now have been the betrayers and murderers: 53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it."

1 Peter 2:9

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light:

21 And I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: And I cast its dust into the brook that descended out of the mount. 22 And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibrothhattaavah, you provoked the LORD to wrath. 23 Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, "Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then you rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and you believed him not, nor listened to his voice. 24 You have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

Nehemiah 9:16-21

16 But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and did not hearken to your commandments, 17 and refused to obey, neither were mindful of your wonders that you did among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: But you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsook them not. 18 Yes, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, "This is your God that brought you up out of Egypt, and had worked great provocations; 19 yet you in your manifold mercies forsook them not in the wilderness: The pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way in which they should go. 20 You gave also your good spirit to instruct them, and withheld not your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst. 21 Yes, forty years did you sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

Psalms 78:17-42

17 And they sinned even more against Him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. 18 And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. 19 Yes, they spoke against God; they said, "Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? 20 Behold, He smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can He give bread also? Can He provide flesh for His people"? 21 Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: So a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; 22 because they did not believe in God, and did not trust in His salvation: 23 Though He had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, 24 and had rained down manna on them to eat, and had given them of the grain kernels of heaven. 25 Man ate angels' food: He sent them meat to the full. 26 He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: And by His power He brought in the south wind. 27 He also rained flesh upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like the sand of the sea: 28 And He let it fall in the midst of their camp, all around their tents. 29 So they ate, and were well filled: For He gave them their own desire; 30 they were not estranged from their lust. But while their food was yet in their mouths, 31 the wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel. 32 For all this they still sinned, and did not believe in His wondrous works. 33 Therefore He consumed their days in vanity, and their years in trouble. 34 When He slew them, then they sought Him: And they returned and inquired early after God. 35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer. 36 Nevertheless they flattered Him with their mouth, and they lied to Him with their tongues. 37 For their heart was not right with Him, neither were they steadfast in His covenant. 38 But He, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and did not destroy them: Yes, many a time He turned His anger away, and did not stir up all His wrath. 39 For He remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passes away, and does not come again. 40 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, and grieve Him in the desert! 41 Yes, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. 42 They did not remember His hand, nor the day when He delivered them from the enemy.

Psalms 95:8-11

8 "Do not harden your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My work. 10 For forty long years I was grieved with this generation, and said, 'It is a people that err in their heart, and they have not known My ways': 11 To whom I swore in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest."

Psalms 106:13-29

13 They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel: 14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. 15 And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul. 16 They also envied Moses in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD. 17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. 18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. 19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped the molten image. 20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eats grass. 21 They forgot God their Savior, which had done great things in Egypt; 22 wondrous works in the land of Ham, and frightful things by the Red Sea. 23 Therefore He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses His chosen stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, lest He should destroy them. 24 Yes, they despised the pleasant land, they did not believe His word: 25 But murmured in their tents, and did not hearken to the voice of the LORD. 26 Therefore He lifted up His hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness: 27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands. 28 They also joined themselves to Baal-Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead, 29 thus they provoked Him to anger with their inventions: And the plague broke out upon them.

Ezekiel 20:10-17

10 Therefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. 11 And I gave them My statutes, and showed them My judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in and by them. 12 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them. 13 But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness: They did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and they greatly polluted My Sabbaths: Then I said, 'I will pour out My fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.' 14 But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out. 15 Yet I also lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; 16 because they despised My judgments, and did not walk in My statutes, but polluted My Sabbaths: For their heart went after their idols. 17 Nevertheless My eye spared from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.

Amos 5:25-26

25 Have you offered to Me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? 26 But you have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun, your images, the star of your god, which you made for yourselves.

39 Whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust Him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron, 'Make us gods to go before us: Because, as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.' 41 And they made a calf in those days, offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. 42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, 'O house of Israel, have you offered to Me slain beasts and sacrifices for a period of forty years in the wilderness? 43 Yes, you took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which you made to worship them: And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.'

1 Corinthians 10:1-10

1 Moreover, brethren, I would not have that you should be ignorant, how all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea; 2 and all were baptized to Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 and all ate the same spiritual food; 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink: For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: And that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: For they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play." 8 Nor let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents. 10 Nor murmur, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

Hebrews 3:7-10

7 Therefore (as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years. 10 Therefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, 'They always err in their heart; and they have not known My ways.'

Hebrews 3:16-19

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: Nevertheless, not all who came out of Egypt by Moses provoked. 17 But with whom was He grieved forty years? Was it not with those that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they should not enter into His rest, but to those that did not believe? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

And the LORD answered, "Behold, he has hid himself among the stuff." 23 And they ran and fetched him from there: And when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward. 24 And Samuel said to all the people, "Do you see him whom the LORD has chosen, that there is none like him among all the people?" And all the people shouted, and said, "God save the king." 25 Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the LORD. And behold, the LORD has set a king over you. 14 If you will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then both you and also the king that reigns over you shall continue following the LORD your God: 15 But if you will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then the hand of the LORD shall be against you, as it was against your fathers. 16 Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes. 17 Is it not wheat harvest today? I will call to the LORD, and He shall send thunder and rain; that you may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which you have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking for yourselves a king." 18 So Samuel called to the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: And all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel. 19 And all the people said to Samuel, "Pray for your servants to the LORD your God, that we do not die: For we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask for us a king."

3 For we ourselves were also sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving diverse lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; 6 which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior;

Revelation 22:16

16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning Star."

Matthew 3:1-11

1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, "Repent: For the kingdom of heaven is at hand." 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the LORD, make His paths straight.' " 4 And the same John had his clothing from camel's hair, with a leather girdle around his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him, 6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bring forth fruits suitable for repentance: 9 And do not think to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father': For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 10 And even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees: Therefore every tree which does not bring forth good fruit is hewed down, and cast into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water as to repentance: But He that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry: He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire:

Mark 1:2-8

2 as it is written in the prophets: "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, which shall prepare Your way before You. 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the LORD, make His paths straight.' " 4 John baptized in the wilderness, and preached the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. 5 And all the land of Judea went out to him, and those of Jerusalem, and were all baptized by him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. 6 Now John was clothed with camel's hair, and a girdle of a skin around his loins; and he ate locusts and wild honey; 7 and he preached, saying, "There comes one mightier than I after me, the strap of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 8 I indeed have baptized you with water, but He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

Luke 1:76

76 And you, child, shall be called the prophet of the Highest: For you shall go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways;

Luke 3:2-20

2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the Word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness. 3 And he came into all the country around Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; 4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight. 5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked place will be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; 6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.' " 7 Then he said to the multitude that came forth to be baptized by him, "O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father': For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 9 And even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees: Every tree therefore which does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire." 10 Therefore the people asked him, saying, "What shall we do then?" 11 He answered and said to them, "He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise." 12 Then publicans also came to be baptized, and said to him, "Master, what shall we do?" 13 And he said to them, "Require no more than that which is appointed to you." 14 Likewise the soldiers demanded of him, saying, "And what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do violence to no man, nor accuse anyone falsely; and be content with your wages." 15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men thought deeply about John in their hearts, whether he was the Christ, or not; 16 John answered, saying to them all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I comes, the strap of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire: 17 Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor, and will gather the wheat into His granary; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire." 18 And in His exhortation he preached many other things to the people.

John 1:6-8

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

John 1:15-18

15 John bore witness of Him, and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I spoke, 'He that comes after me is preferred before me: For He was before me.' " 16 And of His fullness we all have received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

John 3:25-36

25 Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying. 26 And they came to John, and said to him, "Rabbi, He that was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you bear witness, behold, the same baptizes, and all men come to Him." 27 John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing, unless it is given to him from heaven. 28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the Christ', but that, 'I am sent before Him.' 29 He that has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: This joy of mine is therefore fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He that comes from above is above all: He that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth: He that comes from heaven is above all. 32 And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no man receives His testimony. 33 He that has received His testimony has set to his seal that God is true. 34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God: For God does not give the Spirit by limited measure to Him. 35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 He that believes in the Son has everlasting life: And he that does not believe the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him."

John 5:33-36

33 You sent to John, and he bore witness to the truth. 34 But I do not receive testimony from man: But these things I say, that you might be saved. 35 He was a burning and a shining light: And you were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. 36 But I have a greater witness than that of John: For the works which the Father has given Me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

Mark 6:16-28

16 But when Herod heard of it, he said, "This is John, whom I beheaded; he has risen from the dead." 17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife; for he had married her. 18 For John had said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife." 19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not: 20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly. 21 Then when a convenient day came, Herod made a supper on his birthday to his lords, high captains, and chief estate owners of Galilee; 22 And when Herodias' daughter came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and those who sat with him, the king said to the damsel, "Ask of me whatever you desire, and I will give it to you." 23 He even swore to her, "Whatever you shall ask of me, I will give it to you, up to half of my kingdom." 24 Now she went forth, and said to her mother, "What shall I ask?" And she said, "The head of John the Baptist." 25 And she came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked it, saying, "I desire that without delay you give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter." 26 And the king was exceedingly sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for the sakes of those who sat with him, he would not reject her request. 27 Therefore the king immediately sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought; and he went and beheaded him in the prison, 28 brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the damsel: And the damsel gave it to her mother.

Luke 3:15-16

15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men thought deeply about John in their hearts, whether he was the Christ, or not; 16 John answered, saying to them all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I comes, the strap of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire:

John 1:20-23

20 And he confessed, and did not deny; but confessed, "I am not the Christ." 21 Therefore they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" And he said, "I am not." "Are you that prophet?" And he answered, "No." 22 Then they said to him, "Who are you? That we may give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?" 23 He said, "I am 'the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, "Make straight the way of the Lord" ', as the prophet Isaiah said.

John 1:26-27

26 John answered them, saying, "I baptize with water: But there stands One among you, whom you do not know; 27 it is He, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe string I am not worthy to unloose."

28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst." 29 Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there: And they filled a sponge with vinegar, put it upon hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, "It is finished": Then He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.

But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified." 24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail in nothing, but rather that a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person: You see to it." 25 Then all the people answered, and said, "His blood be on us, and on our children."

Mark 15:13-15

Matthew 27:57-60

57 When the evening had come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus' disciple: 58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Mark 15:45-46

45 Then when he was sure of it from the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 He even bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a sepulcher which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the sepulcher.

He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus. 39 And there also came Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds in weight. 40 Then they took the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. 41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, in which a man was never yet laid. 42 They therefore laid Jesus there because of the Jews' Preparation Day; for the sepulchre was near at hand.

And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself: Handle Me, and see; for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see me have." 40 And when He had spoken in this manner, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 Moreover, while they did not yet believe out of joy, and wondered, He said to them, "Have you any food here?" 42 And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish, and from a honeycomb.

19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be to you." 20 And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then Jesus said to them again, "Peace be to you: As My Father has sent Me, even so I send you." 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit: 23 Whoever's sins you remit, they are remitted to them; and whoever's sins you retain, they are retained." 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the print of the nails in His hands, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe." 26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them: Then Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace be to you." 27 Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and behold My hands; and reach your hand here, and thrust it into My side: And don't be faithless, but believing." 28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God." 29 Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed: Blessed are those that have not seen, and yet have believed."

John 21:1-14

1 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias; and here is the way He showed Himself. 2 Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will also go with you." They went forth, and immediately entered into a ship; and that night they caught nothing. 4 But now when the morning had come, Jesus stood on the shore: But the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No." 6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and you shall find some." Therefore they casted, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord." Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his fisherman's coat (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea. 8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish.200 Roman cubits is approximately 290 feet or 88.4 meters. 9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid upon it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have now caught." 11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of large fish, one hundred and fifty three: And although there were so many, yet the net was not broken. 12 Jesus said to them, "Come and dine." And none of the disciples dared ask Him, "Who are You?" Knowing that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus then came, and took bread, and gave to them, and fish likewise. 14 This is now the third time that Jesus showed Himself to His disciples, after He was risen from the dead.

12 and said to them, "You are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel to the place that I have prepared for it. 13 For because you did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach on us, for that we sought him not after the due order. 14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel. 15 And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God on their shoulders with the staffs on it, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD. 16 And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers to be the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

So David prepared abundantly before his death. 6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build a house for the LORD God of Israel. 7 And David said to Solomon, "My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the LORD my God: 8 But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, "You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars: You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight. 9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around: For his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. 10 He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever. 11 Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you. 12 Only the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God. 13 Then you shall prosper, if you take heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: Be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. 14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: Timber also and stone have I prepared; and you may add thereto. 15 Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work. 16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with you. 17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 18 is not the LORD your God with you? And has he not given you rest on every side? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build you the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

Micah 7:18-20

18 Who is a God like You, that pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not maintain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. 19 He will return again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 20 You will perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

Acts 2:38

38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 5:31

31 God has exalted Him with His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Acts 10:43

43 To Him all the prophets give witness, that through His name whoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins."

2 Corinthians 5:18-21

18 Now all things are from God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Ephesians 1:7

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;

Ephesians 4:32

32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.

Colossians 1:14

14 In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Hebrews 8:6

6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by which He also is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Hebrews 8:12-13

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and iniquities I will remember no more." 13 In that He says, "A new covenant", He has made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 9:9-14

9 Which was a figure for the time then present, within which both gifts and sacrifices were offered, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10 which stood only in foods and drinks, diverse washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 11 But Christ became a High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 9:22

22 And by the law almost all things are purged with blood; and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

Hebrews 10:4-18

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, "You would not like sacrifice and offering, but You have prepared Me a body: 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. 7 Then I said, 'Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God.' " 8 When He said above, "You would not like sacrifice, offering, burnt offerings, nor offerings for sin, neither had pleasure in them"; which are offered according to the law; 9 then He said, "Behold, I come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first, that He may establish the second. 10 By that will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering frequently the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God; 13 from then on expecting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those that are sanctified. 15 Of which the Holy Spirit is also a witness to us: For after that He said foretelling beforehand, 16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them"; 17 "and their sins and iniquities I will remember no more." 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no more offering for sin.

1 John 2:1-2

1 My little children, these things I write to you so that you do not sin. And if any man sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And He is the propitiation for our sins: And not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 2:12

12 I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake.

Job 9:20

20 If I justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me: If I say, "I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

Job 25:4

4 How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

Psalms 143:2

2 And do not enter into judgment with Your servant: For in Your sight no man living shall be justified.

Isaiah 53:11

11 He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: By His knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

Jeremiah 31:32

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them", said the LORD:

Habakkuk 2:4

4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: But the just shall live by his faith.

Luke 10:25

25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted Him, saying, "Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

Luke 10:28

28 And He said to him, "You have answered right: Do this, and you shall live."

Luke 18:14

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted."

John 1:17

17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

John 5:24

24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but has passed from death to life.

Romans 3:19

19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it says to those who are under the law: That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Romans 3:24-30

24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God has set out to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: That He might be just, and the justifier of him that believes in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No: But by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

Romans 4:5-8

5 But to him that does not work, but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted as righteousness. 6 Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, to whom God imputes righteousness without works, 7 saying, "Blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD will not impute sin."

Romans 4:15

15 Because the law works wrath: For where no law is, there is no transgression.

Romans 4:24

24 but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, to us, if we believe upon Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Romans 5:1

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 5:9

9 Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

Romans 5:20

20 Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Romans 7:9-11

9 For I was alive without the law once: But when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to instead be to death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by the commandment slew me.

Romans 8:1

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those which are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:3

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Romans 8:30-34

30 Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called: Whom He called, these He also justified: And whom He justified, these He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He that did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not together with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall blame God's elect? It is God that justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, now rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Romans 9:31

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.

Romans 10:4

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes.

Romans 10:10

10 For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

1 Corinthians 6:11

11 And such were some of you: But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 2:16

16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: For by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Galatians 2:19

19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live to God.

Galatians 3:8

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you shall all nations be blessed."

Galatians 3:10-12

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: For it is written, "Cursed is everyone that does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." 11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident: For, "The just shall live by faith." 12 And the law is not of faith: But, "The man who does them shall live in them."

Galatians 3:21-25

21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness should have been by the law. 22 But the scripture has concluded all are under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to those that believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up to the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith has come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Galatians 5:3

3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

Philippians 3:6-9

6 concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching upon the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted as losses for Christ. 8 Yes without doubt, and I count all things as loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: For whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as dung, that I may win Christ, 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Hebrews 7:19

19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by which we draw near to God.

Hebrews 9:9-10

9 Which was a figure for the time then present, within which both gifts and sacrifices were offered, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10 which stood only in foods and drinks, diverse washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Hebrews 10:11

11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering frequently the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Isaiah 29:14

14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."

Habakkuk 1:5

5 "Behold among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously, all of you: For I will work a feat in your days, which you all will not believe, though it is told to you.

Malachi 3:2

2 "But who may abide the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

Malachi 4:1

1 "For behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: And the day that comes shall burn them up", says the LORD of hosts, "that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Matthew 3:9-12

9 And do not think to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father': For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 10 And even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees: Therefore every tree which does not bring forth good fruit is hewed down, and cast into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water as to repentance: But He that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry: He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor, and gather His wheat into the granary; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

Hebrews 2:3

3 how shall we escape, if we neglect such great salvation; which at first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those that heard Him;

Hebrews 3:12

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Hebrews 12:25

25 See that you do not refuse Him that speaks. For if those who refused 'Him that spoke on earth' did not escape, much more we shall not escape, if we turn away from Him that speaks from heaven:

Proverbs 1:24-32

24 Because I have called, and you refused; I have outstretched my hand, and no man regarded; 25 but you have disregarded all my counsel, and would have none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear comes; 27 when your fear comes as desolation, and your destruction comes as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish come upon you. 28 Then they shall call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 29 For they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30 They would have none of my counsel: They despised all my reproof. 31 Therefore they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. 32 For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Proverbs 5:12

12 and say, "How I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

Isaiah 5:24

24 Therefore as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: Because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 28:14-22

14 Why hear the word of the LORD, you scornful men, that rule this people who are in Jerusalem. 15 Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, and with hell we are in agreement; when the overflowing whip shall pass through, it shall not come to us: For we have made lies our refuge, and we have hid ourselves under falsehood:" 16 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: He that believes shall not make haste. 17 I will also lay judgment on the line, and righteousness to the plummet: And the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. 18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing whip shall pass through, then you shall be trodden down by it. 19 From the time that it goes forth it shall take you: For morning by morning it shall pass over, by day and by night: And it shall be a terror only to understand the report. 20 For the bed is shorter than a man can stretch himself upon: And the covering narrower than he can wrap himself in. 21 For the LORD shall rise up as in Mount Perazim, He shall be angry as in the valley of Gibeon, that He may do his work, His strange work; and bring to pass His act, His strange act. 22 Now therefore you shall not be mockers, lest your bands be made strong: For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined on the whole earth.

Isaiah 65:15

15 And you shall leave your name for a curse to My chosen: For the Lord GOD shall slay you, and call his servants by another name:

Daniel 9:26-27

26 And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

Matthew 8:10-11

10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel. 11 And I say to you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 21:41-44

41 They said to Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will lease out his vineyard to other vinedressers, which shall give him the fruits in their seasons." 42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: This is the LORD'S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? 43 Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it. 44 And whoever falls on this stone shall be broken: But on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder."

Matthew 22:7-10

7 But when the king heard about it, he was wroth: And he sent forth his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. 9 Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you shall find, invite to the marriage.' 10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they all found, both bad and good: And the wedding was furnished with guests.

Matthew 23:34-38

34 Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes: And some of them you shall kill and crucify; and some of them you shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you slew between the temple and the altar. 36 Truly I say to you, All these things shall come upon this generation. 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone those which are sent to you; how often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

Luke 16:14

14 Moreover the Pharisees, who were covetous, also heard all these things: And they derided Him.

Luke 19:42-44

42 saying, "If you had known, even you, at least in this day, the things which relate to your peace! But now they are hid from your eyes. 43 For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a trench around you, surround you, and keep you in on every side, 44 and shall level you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."

Luke 21:20-26

20 Moreover when you see Jerusalem compassed around with armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let those who are in the midst of it depart out; and do not let those who are in the countries enter into it. 22 Because these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe to those who are with child, and to those who breastfeed in those days! For there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: And Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. 25 And there shall be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men's hearts failing them from fear, and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth: For the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Luke 23:35

35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them ridiculed Him, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself, if He is Christ, the chosen of God."

Acts 3:23

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul who will not hear that Prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.'

Acts 6:14

14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered to us."

Acts 13:47

47 For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, 'I have set you to be a light to the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.' "

Romans 11:7-14

7 What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks after; but the chosen have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 (Even as it is written, "God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear); to this day." 9 And David says, "Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling-block, and a recompense to them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always." 11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: But rather through their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy. 12 Now if the fall of them is the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness? 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify my office: 14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation those who are my flesh, and might save some of them.

Ephesians 3:3-8

3 How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I previously wrote with few words, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ); 5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the gospel: 7 Of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effectual working of His power. 8 To me, who am less than the least of all saints, this grace is given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Colossians 1:26-27

26 even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints: 27 To whom God would make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

1 Thessalonians 2:16

16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to always fill up their sins: For the wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

Hebrews 10:28-30

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, shall he be thought worthy, who has tread underfoot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has extreme malice toward the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him that has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me, I will recompense", says the Lord. And again, "The Lord shall judge His people."

1 Peter 4:17

17 For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: And if it begins first with us, what shall be the end of those that do not obey the gospel of God?

6 not to many people of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you.

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed on Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are My disciples indeed; 32 and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

John 15:5-10

5 I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: For without Me you can do nothing. 6 If a man does not abide in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you. 8 In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be My disciples. 9 As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you: Continue in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love.

Acts 6:5

5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte from Antioch:
