¹ And as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, ² being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. ³ Therefore they laid hands on them, and put them into a hold until the next day: For it was already evening. ⁴ Nevertheless, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. ⁵ And it came to pass on the next day that their rulers, elders, and scribes, ⁶ and Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. ⁷ And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, "By what power, or by what name, have you done this?" ⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, ⁹ if we this day are examined for the good deed done to the feeble man, by what means he is made whole; ¹⁰ let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him does this man stand here before you whole. ¹¹ This is the 'stone which was set at naught by you builders, which has become the head of the corner.' ¹² Neither is there salvation in any other: For there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved." ¹³ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they had knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. ¹⁴ And beholding the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. ¹⁵ But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, ¹⁶ saying, "What shall we do to these men? For indeed it is apparent to all those who dwell in Jerusalem that a notable miracle has been done by them; and we cannot deny it. ¹⁷ But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us strictly threaten them, that from this time forward they do not speak to any man in this name." ¹⁸ Therefore they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. ¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. ²⁰ For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." ²¹ So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way how they might punish them, because of the people: For all men glorified God for that which was done. ²² For the man was over forty years old, upon whom this miracle of healing was shown. ²³ And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. ²⁴ And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "Lord, You are God, which has made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that is in them: ²⁵ Who by the mouth of Your servant David has said, 'Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the LORD, and against His Christ.' ²⁷ "For truly against Your holy Child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, ²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined beforehand to be done. ²⁹ And now Lord, behold their threats: And grant to Your servants, that with all boldness they may speak Your word, ³⁰ by stretching forth Your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of Your holy Child Jesus." ³¹ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness. ³² Moreover the multitude of those that believed were of one heart and of one soul: Neither did any of them say that the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things in common. ³³ And with great power the apostles gave witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: And great grace was upon them all. ³⁴ Neither was there any among them who lacked: For as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, ³⁵ and laid them down at the apostles' feet: And distribution was made to every man accordingly as he had need. ³⁶ And Joses, who was surnamed Barnabas by the apostles (which being interpreted is, The son of Consolation), a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, ³⁷ having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

⁴ This is the thing that you shall do; A third part of you entering on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters of the doors; ⁵ and a third part shall be at the king's house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation: And all the people shall be in the courts of the house of the LORD. ⁶ But let none come into the house of the LORD, save the priests, and those that minister of the Levites; they shall go in, for they are holy: But all the people shall keep the watch of the LORD. ⁷ And the Levites shall compass the king all around, every man with his weapons in his hand; and whoever else comes into the house, he shall be put to death: But be you with the king when he comes in, and when he goes out. ⁸ So the Levites and all Judah did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest had commanded, and took every man his men that were to come in on the Sabbath, with those that were to go out on the Sabbath: For Jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses. ⁹ Moreover Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David's, which were in the house of God.

⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

¹² Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

¹⁶ And they sent out to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Master, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; neither do you care for any man: For You do not regard the person of men.

²³ The same day the Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, ²⁴ saying, "Master, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.

³ Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled together at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, ⁴ and consulted that they might take Jesus through cunning, and kill Him.

¹ When the morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death: ² And when they had bound Him, they led Him away, and delivered Him to the governor Pontius Pilate.

²⁰ But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

⁴¹ Likewise the chief priests also mocking Him, with the scribes and elders, said,

⁴ And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them.

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, 'The servant is not greater than his lord.' If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My sayings, they will keep yours also.

³ Then Judas, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

⁶ and Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

²⁴ Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these things, they questioned them about where this news would grow.

²⁶ Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence: For they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

⁷ Then the Word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem; and a large company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

¹² And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

⁶ But when Paul perceived that one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, "Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: Concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called into question." ⁷ And when he had said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: And the multitude was divided. ⁸ For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: But the Pharisees confess both. ⁹ And there arose a loud clamor: And the scribes who were of the Pharisees by occupation arose, and strove, saying, "We find no evil in this man: But if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God."

¹⁰ When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.

⁴⁷ Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, "What shall we do? For this Man does many miracles. ⁴⁸ If we let Him alone after that, all men will believe upon Him: And the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation."

¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses.

¹⁷ Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with indignation,

⁴⁰ Him God raised up the third day, and showed Him openly; ⁴¹ not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen in advance by God, even to us, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead. ⁴² And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He which was ordained by God to be the Judge of living and dead. ⁴³ To Him all the prophets give witness, that through His name whoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins."

⁴⁵ But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spoke against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

¹⁸ Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoics, encountered him. And some said, "What will this babbler say?" Others said, "He seems to be a herald of strange gods": Because he preached to them Jesus, and the resurrection.

³¹ Because He has appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He has ordained; of which He has given assurance to all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead." ³² And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: And others said, "We will hear you again on this matter."

²³ And at the same time there arose no small stir over that way.

¹⁴ But this I confess to you, that according to the way which they call heresy, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the prophets: ¹⁵ And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.

²¹ except if it was for this one expression, that I cried out standing among them, 'Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am called into question by you this day.' "

⁸ Why should it be thought an incredible thing by you that God should raise the dead?

²³ That Christ would suffer, and that He should be the first that would rise from the dead, and would show light to the people, and to the Gentiles."

¹¹ But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also vivify your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you.

¹² Now if Christ is preached that He rose from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? ¹³ But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen: ¹⁴ And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is vain, and your faith is also vain. ¹⁵ Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ: Whom He did not raise up, if it so be that the dead do not rise. ¹⁶ For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen: ¹⁷ And if Christ is not risen, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. ¹⁸ Then also those which are deceased in Christ are perished. ¹⁹ If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are the most miserable of all men. ²⁰ But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those that are deceased.

²³ But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward those that are Christ's at His coming.

¹³ We having the same spirit of faith, according to as it is written, "I believed, and therefore I have spoken"; we also believe, and therefore speak; ¹⁴ knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall also raise up us by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

¹³ But I would not like you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are deceased, that you do not sorrow, even as others who have no hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those which are also deceased in Jesus.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. ¹⁷ But beware of men: For they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

⁵² Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders, which had come to Him, "Have you come out, as against a thief, with swords and wooden staffs?

⁵⁴ Then they took Him, and led Him, and brought Him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.

¹² Then the band of troops, the captain, and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound Him,

¹⁸ and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

³ As for Saul, he made havoc within the church, entering into every house; and hauling off men and women, committed them to prison.

² and desired from him letters to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

¹ Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain ones from the church. ² Moreover he killed James the brother of John with the sword. ³ And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the Days of Unleavened Bread.)

¹⁹ Now when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace to the rulers, ²⁰ And brought them to the magistrates, saying, "These men, being Jews, exceedingly trouble our city, ²¹ and teach customs which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans." ²² Then the multitude rose up together against them: And the magistrates tore off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. ²³ And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely: ²⁴ Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and fastened their feet in the stocks.

¹⁰ The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and the gathering of the people shall be to Him.Shiloh is a by-name for The Messiah

²⁴ Surely, one shall say, 'In the LORD I have righteousness and strength': Even to Him men shall come; and all that are incensed against Him shall be ashamed.

¹² Therefore I will divide to Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He has poured out His soul to death: And He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone: But if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.

⁴¹ Then those that gladly received his word were baptized: And the same day there were about three thousand souls added to them.

²⁴ And some believed the things which were spoken, and some did not believe.

¹⁴ Now thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the savor of His knowledge through us in every place. ¹⁵ For we are to God a sweet savor of Christ, in those that are saved, and in those that perish: ¹⁶ To the one we are the savour of death leading to death; and to the other the savor of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? ¹⁷ For we are not as many, which corrupt the Word of God: But out of sincerity, but as from God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

¹² But I would like you to understand, brethren, that the things which happened to me have turned out better for the furtherance of the gospel; ¹³ so that my chains in Christ are apparent in all the palace, and in all other places; ¹⁴ and many of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. ¹⁵ Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife; and some also from goodwill: ¹⁶ The former preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; ¹⁷ but the other out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. ¹⁸ What then? Notwithstanding in every way, whether in pretense, or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

⁹ For which I suffer trouble, as an evildoer, even to chains; but the Word of God is not bound. ¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹⁰ Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; give ear to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah.

¹ Woe to those that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

¹ Then in the morning without delay, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate.

¹ And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon Him with the elders,

⁶⁶ And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led Him into their council, saying,

¹³ And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,

²⁰ And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and have crucified Him.

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

²⁰ "Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this Life." ²¹ And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and those that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

³⁴ Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, honorable in reputation among all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while;

³ Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled together at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

² Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the Word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.

⁴⁹ And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said to them, "You know nothing at all,

¹³ and they led Him away to Annas first; for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that same year. ¹⁴ Now it was Caiaphas who gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

²⁴ Now Annas had sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

¹⁴ And he said, "Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?" And Moses feared, and said, "Surely this thing is known."

¹² They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people. ¹³ And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: And the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, "Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died. ¹⁴ Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, "Naboth is stoned, and is dead.

²³ And when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching, and said, "By what authority do you do these things? And who gave You this authority?"

²⁸ And they said to Him, "By what authority do you do these things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?"

¹⁸ Then the Jews answered and said to Him, "What sign do You show to us, seeing that You do these things?"

³ Also the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

⁹ Now those which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the eldest, even to the last: And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

¹⁰ let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him does this man stand here before you whole.

²⁷ And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: And the high priest asked them, ²⁸ saying, "Did we not strictly command you that you should not teach in this name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood upon us."

⁴⁰ And they agreed with him: And when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, take no thought on how or what you shall speak: For it shall be given to you in that same hour what you shall speak. ²⁰ For it is not you who speaks, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you.

¹¹ And when they bring you to the synagogues, and to magistrates, and powers, take no thought how or what thing you shall answer, or what you shall say: ¹² For the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say."

¹⁴ Therefore settle it in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand on what you shall answer: ¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to speak against nor resist.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

⁵ And it came to pass on the next day that their rulers, elders, and scribes,

³¹ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.

⁵⁵ But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

²³ If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath day, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are you angry at Me, because I have made a man all together whole on the Sabbath day?

³² Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father; for which of those works do you stone Me?"

⁷ And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: And immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

¹⁵ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: And always be ready to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason for the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: ¹⁶ Having a good conscience; that when they speak evil of you, as of evil-doers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. ¹⁷ Indeed it is better, if it is the will of God, that you suffer for well doing, than for doing evil.

¹⁴ If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are happier; for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: On their part He is spoken evil of, but on your part He is glorified.

¹⁹ The LORD has said concerning you, O you remnant of Judah; 'Go not into Egypt': Know certainly that I have admonished you this day. ²⁰ For you dissembled in your hearts, when you sent me to the LORD your God, saying, 'Pray for us to the LORD our God; and according to all that the LORD our God shall say, "so declare to us, and we will do it.'

¹⁸ But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods nor worship the golden image which you have set up."

⁶³ saying, "Sir, we remember that while He was still alive, that deceiver said, 'After three days I will rise again.' ⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulcher be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night, and steal Him away, and say to the people, 'He is risen from the dead': So the last error shall be worse than the first." ⁶⁵ Pilate said to them, "You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you can." ⁶⁶ So they went, and made the sepulcher secure, sealing the stone, and setting a guard.

¹¹ Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and reported to the chief priests all the things that were done. ¹² And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of money to the soldiers, ¹³ saying, "You say, 'His disciples came by night, and stole Him away while we slept.' ¹⁴ And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you." ¹⁵ So they took the money, and did as they were instructed: And this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

²² "You men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a Man approved by God among you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did by Him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know: ²³ Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: ²⁴ Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: Because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

³⁶ "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ."

⁶ Then Peter said, "Silver and gold, I have none; but such as I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted to you; ¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And His name through faith in His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know: Yes, the faith which is through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

²⁹ But Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought to obey God rather than men. ³⁰ The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you slew and hung on a tree: ³¹ God has exalted Him with His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. ³² And we are His witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those that obey Him."

⁴⁰ Him God raised up the third day, and showed Him openly; ⁴¹ not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen in advance by God, even to us, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead. ⁴² And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He which was ordained by God to be the Judge of living and dead.

²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the tree, and laid Him in a sepulchre. ³⁰ But God raised Him from the dead: ³¹ And He was seen for many days by those that came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. ³² And we declare to you glad tidings, how the promise which was made to the fathers, ³³ God has fulfilled the same for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second Psalm, 'You are My Son, this day I have begotten You.' ³⁴ And concerning how He raised Him from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, He spoke in this manner, 'I will give you the sure mercies of David.' ³⁵ Therefore He also says in another Psalm, 'You shall not permit Your Holy One to see corruption.' ³⁶ "For David, after he had served the will of God in his own generation, fell asleep dead, and was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption: ³⁷ But He, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. ³⁸ Therefore let it be known to you, men and brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins: ³⁹ And by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. ⁴⁰ Beware therefore, lest that which is spoken of in the prophets come upon you; ⁴¹ 'Behold, you despisers, wonder, and perish: For I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no way believe, though a man declare it to you.' "

²⁸ "Therefore let it be known to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and that they will hear it."

⁴ and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

²² The Stone which the builders refused has become the Head Stone of the corner. ²³ This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

¹ The wicked flee when no man pursues: But the righteous are bold as a lion.

¹⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: He that believes shall not make haste.

¹ "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and show My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. ² Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and did not forsake the ordinance of their God: They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching God.

⁶ And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you dwell among scorpions: Do not be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house. ⁷ And you shall speak My words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: For they are most rebellious.

⁷ But the house of Israel will not listen to you; for they will not listen to Me: For all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted. ⁸ Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. ⁹ I have made your forehead like an adamant harder than flint: Do not fear them, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house." ¹⁰ Moreover He said to me, "Son of man, receive in your heart all My words that I shall speak to you, and hear with your ears. ¹¹ And go, get yourself to those of the captivity, to the children of your people, and speak to them, and tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD'; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear."

¹⁸ When I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die'; and you do not give him warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. ¹⁹ Yet if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

⁷ So you, O son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear the Word at My mouth, and warn them from Me. ⁸ When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you shall surely die'; if you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at your hand. ⁹ Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

⁹ For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: Behold, I will engrave the carved work upon it', says the LORD of hosts, 'and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

⁶ Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit', says the LORD of hosts. ⁷ 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain: And he shall bring forth its headstone with shoutings, crying out, "Grace, grace to it."

⁴² Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: This is the LORD'S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? ⁴³ Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it. ⁴⁴ And whoever falls on this stone shall be broken: But on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder." ⁴⁵ And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they perceived that He spoke about them.

¹² And He answered and told them, "Elijah truly comes first, and restores all things; and how it is written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things, and be disregarded as nothing.

¹⁰ And have you not read this scripture; 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner: ¹¹ This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? " ¹² And they sought to lay hold of Him, but feared the people: For they knew that He had spoken the parable against them: And they left Him, and went their way.

¹⁶ He shall come and destroy those vinedressers, and shall give the vineyard to others." And when they heard it, they said, "God forbid." ¹⁷ Moreover He beheld them, and said, "What is this then that is written, 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner'? ¹⁸ Whoever falls upon that stone shall be broken: But on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder."

⁵² Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain those which foretold of the coming of the Just One; of whom you now have been the betrayers and murderers:

²⁶ Therefore I testify for the record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God.

¹² Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

¹ Therefore, seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not faint;

²⁰ and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone; ²¹ in whom all the building, being fitly framed together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord: ²² In whom you also are built together as a habitation of God through the Spirit.

⁶ Therefore it is also contained in the scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious: And he that believes on Him shall not be confounded." ⁷ Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious: But to those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head cornerstone", ⁸ and "A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense", even to those which stumble at the word, being disobedient: For that also they were appointed.

¹⁹ And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

¹¹ Who has prevented me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine.

¹⁷ I will make Your name to be remembered in all generations: Therefore the people shall praise You forever and ever.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS: For He shall save His people from their sins."

¹⁵ And He said to them, "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. ¹⁶ He who believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he who does not believe shall be damned.

⁴⁷ And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

³⁶ He that believes in the Son has everlasting life: And he that does not believe the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him."

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man comes to the Father, except by Me.

⁵ And there were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

¹¹ For no other foundation can any man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

²³ If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature that is under heaven; of which I, Paul, am made a minister;

⁵ For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus; ⁶ who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

³ how shall we escape, if we neglect such great salvation; which at first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those that heard Him;

²⁵ See that you do not refuse Him that speaks. For if those who refused 'Him that spoke on earth' did not escape, much more we shall not escape, if we turn away from Him that speaks from heaven:

¹¹ And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He that has the Son has life; and he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.

⁹ After this I beheld, and lo, a large multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; ¹⁰ And cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God which sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb."

¹⁵ And whoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

¹⁸ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: For they were fishermen. ¹⁹ And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." ²⁰ And they immediately left their nets, and followed Him. ²¹ And going on from there, He saw two other brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them. ²² And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed Him.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes.

⁵⁷ And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. ⁵⁸ But Peter followed Him afar off to the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

⁷¹ And when he had gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said to those that were there, "This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth."

⁷³ And after a while those who stood by came to him, and said to Peter, "Surely you also are one of them; for your speech betrays you."

⁸ And He sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat."

⁵² Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders, which had come to Him, "Have you come out, as against a thief, with swords and wooden staffs? ⁵³ When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not stretch forth any hands against Me: But this is your hour, and the power of darkness." ⁵⁴ Then they took Him, and led Him, and brought Him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.

⁵⁶ But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, looked earnestly upon him, and said, "This man was also with Him." ⁵⁷ And he denied Him, saying, "Woman, I do not know Him." ⁵⁸ And after a little while another saw him, and said, "You are also of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am not." ⁵⁹ Then after about one hour had passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, "Truly this fellow was also with Him: For he is a Galilean." ⁶⁰ And Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are talking about." And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.

¹⁵ And the Jews marveled, saying, "How does this Man know letters, having never learned?"

⁴⁹ But this people who does not know the law are cursed."

¹⁶ But Peter stood at the door outside. Then that other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. ¹⁷ Then the damsel that kept the door said to Peter, "Are you not also one of this Man's disciples?" He said, "I am not."

²⁶ Therefore, when Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!"

⁷ And they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Behold, are not all these who speak Galileans? ⁸ And how come we hear every man in our own tongue, in which we were born? ⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya around Cyrene, strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretes and Arabians, we hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God." ¹² And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying to one another, "What could this mean?"

²⁷ But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

⁸ And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered into the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God. ⁹ And all the people saw him walking and praising God: ¹⁰ And they knew it was he that sat begging for charitable alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple: Therefore they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. ¹¹ Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. ¹² Now when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, "You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why do you look so earnestly upon us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man walk?

¹⁶ saying, "What shall we do to these men? For indeed it is apparent to all those who dwell in Jerusalem that a notable miracle has been done by them; and we cannot deny it.

²¹ So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way how they might punish them, because of the people: For all men glorified God for that which was done.

³⁶ Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, you ought to be quiet, and do nothing rashly.

²² But I say to you, That whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: And whoever shall say to his brother, 'You vain fellow' shall be in danger of the council: But whoever says, 'You fool', shall be in danger of hell fire.

³⁴ Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, honorable in reputation among all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while; ³⁵ And said to them, "You men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do touching these men. ³⁶ For some days ago Theudas rose up, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: Who was slain; and as many as obeyed him were all scattered, and brought to nothing. ³⁷ After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the taxing, and drew away many people after him: He also perished; and even as many as obeyed him were all dispersed. ³⁸ And now I say to you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: For if this counsel or this work is of men, it will come to nothing: ³⁹ But if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest you may even be found to fight against God." ⁴⁰ And they agreed with him: And when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. ⁴¹ Therefore they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. ⁴² And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

³⁰ And when he had spoken these things, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and those who sat with them: ³¹ And when they had gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, "This man does nothing worthy of death or of chains." ³² Then Agrippa said to Festus, "This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed to Caesar."

⁵ And as I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and did not touch the ground: And the he-goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

⁸ Therefore the he-goat waxed very great: And when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in its place came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

¹⁶ And at that time they had a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

¹⁰ And looking around at them all, He said to the man, "Stretch forth your hand." And he did so: And his hand was restored whole as the other. ¹¹ Now they were filled with madness; and communed with one another what they might do to Jesus.

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to speak against nor resist.

¹⁸ For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this miracle.

⁷ And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: And immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. ⁸ And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered into the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God. ⁹ And all the people saw him walking and praising God: ¹⁰ And they knew it was he that sat begging for charitable alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple: Therefore they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

¹⁰ And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

¹⁵ Why the anger of the LORD was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent to him a prophet, which said to him, "Why have you sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of your hand? ¹⁶ And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said to him, "Are you made of the king's counsel? Forbear; why should you be smitten? Then the prophet declined, and said, "I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this, and have not listened to my counsel.

¹ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? ² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying, ³ "Let us break their bands apart, and cast away their cords from us." ⁴ He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: The LORD shall have them in derision.

⁸ Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever: ⁹ That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: ¹⁰ Which say to the seers, "See not"; and to the prophets, "Do not prophesy to us right things, speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits: ¹¹ Get out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us."

¹ Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things. ² Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD. ³ And it came to pass on the next day, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him, "The LORD has not called your name Pashur, but Magormissabib.

²⁵ 'Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, "Because you have sent letters in your name to all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying, ²⁶ 'The LORD has made you priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that you should be officers in the house of the LORD, for every man that is mad, and makes himself a prophet, that you should put him in prison, and in the stocks. ²⁷ Now therefore why have you not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, who makes himself a prophet to you? ²⁸ For therefore he sent to us in Babylon, saying, "This captivity is long: Build houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them." ' " ' " ²⁹ And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet. ³⁰ Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, ³¹ "Send to all them of the captivity, saying, 'Thus says the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; "Because that Shemaiah has prophesied to you, and I did not send him, and he caused you to trust in a lie": ³² Therefore thus says the LORD; "Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: He shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for My people", said the LORD; "because he has taught rebellion against the LORD." ' "

⁴ Therefore the princes said to the king, "We beseech you, let this man be put to death: For thus he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them: For this man seeks not the welfare of this people, but the hurt."

³⁴ You saw until a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces. ³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, were broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

¹² "But you gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, 'Do not prophesy.'

¹² Also Amaziah said to Amos, "O you seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: ¹³ But do not prophesy again any more at Bethel: For it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court."chapel; or, sanctuaryking's court: In Hebrew, house of the kingdom ¹⁴ Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah, "I was not a prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:sycomore fruit; or, wild figs ¹⁵ And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, 'Go, prophesy to My people Israel.' ¹⁶ Now therefore hear the word of the LORD: You say, 'Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not drop your word against the house of Isaac.' ¹⁷ Therefore thus says the LORD; 'Your wife shall be a harlot in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you shall die in a polluted land: And Israel shall surely go forth into captivity from his land.' "

⁶ "Do not prophesy", they say to those that prophesy: They shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame. ⁷ "O you that are named the house of Jacob, is the Spirit of the LORD confined? Are these His doings? Do not My words do good to him that walks uprightly?

⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulcher be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night, and steal Him away, and say to the people, 'He is risen from the dead': So the last error shall be worse than the first."

²⁹ And now Lord, behold their threats: And grant to Your servants, that with all boldness they may speak Your word, ³⁰ by stretching forth Your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of Your holy Child Jesus."

²⁸ saying, "Did we not strictly command you that you should not teach in this name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood upon us."

³⁹ But if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest you may even be found to fight against God." ⁴⁰ And they agreed with him: And when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

¹⁶ But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah said, "LORD, who has believed our report?" ¹⁷ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. ¹⁸ But I say, have they not heard? Yes truly, "Their sound went into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world."

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not worked by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, ¹⁹ Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and fully around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. ²⁰ Yes, in this manner I have strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: ²¹ But as it is written, "To whom He was not spoken of, they shall see: And those that have not heard shall understand." ²² For this reason I also have been often hindered from coming to you.

⁸ For the word of the Lord sounded out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith towards God is spread abroad; so that we do not need to speak anything.

¹⁵ Who killed both the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God, and are contrary to all men: ¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to always fill up their sins: For the wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

⁴⁶ and He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: ⁴⁷ And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ And you are witnesses of these things.

⁸ But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit will come upon you: And you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth."

²⁰ "Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this Life."

¹⁷ But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive.

³⁰ And this thing became a sin: For the people went to worship before the one, even to Dan.

¹⁶ And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.

¹¹ And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them.

¹⁴ And Micaiah said, "As the LORD lives, what the LORD said to me, that will I speak.

¹⁵ And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, "On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening food offering, and the king's burnt sacrifice, and his food offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their food offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: And the brazen altar shall be for me to inquire by.

¹⁶ But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: For he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense. ¹⁷ And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of the LORD, that were valiant men: ¹⁸ And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said to him, "It appertains not to you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: Go out of the sanctuary; for you have trespassed; neither shall it be for your honor from the LORD God. ¹⁹ Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: And while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar. ²⁰ And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked on him, and behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from there; yes, himself hurried also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.

¹ To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David. Do you indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? Do you judge uprightly, O you sons of men?

¹⁰ Now when Daniel knew the writing document was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.

¹¹ Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.

¹⁶ Now therefore hear the word of the LORD: You say, 'Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not drop your word against the house of Isaac.'

¹⁶ For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and you walk in their counsels; that I should make you a desolation, and its inhabitants a hissing: Therefore all of you shall bear the reproach of My people."

²¹ They said to Him, "Caesar's." Then He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's."

²⁴ Do not judge according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

²⁹ But Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought to obey God rather than men.

¹⁵ I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say.

² but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord: For this is right.

³ For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;

²³ By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's command.

⁴ Are you then not partial within yourselves, and have become judges of evil thoughts?

³ And I saw one of his heads, how it was wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: And all the world wondered after the beast. ⁴ And they worshiped the dragon which gave power to the beast: And they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" ⁵ And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue for forty-two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and those that dwell in heaven. ⁷ And it was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: And power was given to him over all tribes, and tongues, and nations. ⁸ And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. ⁹ If any man has an ear, let him hear. ¹⁰ He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity: He that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

⁹ Then the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If any man worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, ¹⁰ the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: ¹¹ And the smoke of their torment ascends up forever and ever: And they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." ¹² Here is the patience of the saints: Here are those that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

³⁸ And Balaam said to Balak, "See, I am come to you: Have I now any power at all to say anything? The word that God puts in my mouth, that shall I speak.

²⁰ Behold, I have received commandment to bless: And he has blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

² the Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and his word was in my tongue.

¹⁸ For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constrains me. ¹⁹ Behold, my belly is as wine which has no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles. ²⁰ I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.

⁷ But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am a child': For you shall go to all whom I shall send you, and whatever I command you you shall speak.

¹⁷ You therefore gird up your loins, and arise, and speak to them all whom I command you: Be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound you before them. ¹⁸ For, behold, I have made you this day a defended city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land. ¹⁹ And they shall fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you; for I am with you", said the LORD, "to deliver you."

¹⁹ My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart makes a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

¹¹ Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: "I will pour it out on the children abroad, and on the assembly of young men together: For even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him who is full of days.

⁹ Then I said, "I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name." But His word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

¹¹ And go, get yourself to those of the captivity, to the children of your people, and speak to them, and tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD'; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear."

¹⁴ So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong on me. ¹⁵ Then I came to those of the captivity at Telabib, who dwelled by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days. ¹⁶ And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ¹⁷ "Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: Therefore hear the word of My mouth, and give them warning from Me. ¹⁸ When I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die'; and you do not give him warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. ¹⁹ Yet if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. ²⁰ Again, When a righteous man does turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: Because you have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. ²¹ Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous do not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also you have delivered your soul."

⁸ But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

² even as they delivered them to us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

²² beginning from the baptism of John, to that same day that He was taken up from us, one must be ordained to be a witness with us of His resurrection."

³² This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.

³² And we are His witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those that obey Him."

³⁹ And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hung on a tree: ⁴⁰ Him God raised up the third day, and showed Him openly; ⁴¹ not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen in advance by God, even to us, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.

¹⁶ Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. ¹⁷ Therefore he disputed in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout people, and in the market daily with those that met with him.

⁵ And when Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

¹⁵ For you shall be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.

¹⁶ For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of: For necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me, if I do not preach the gospel! ¹⁷ For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: But if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed to me.

³ how shall we escape, if we neglect such great salvation; which at first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those that heard Him; ⁴ God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, with diverse miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, from the Word of life; ² (for the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show to you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us); ³ that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you all may also have fellowship with us: And truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

⁸ Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power to men.

³³ And when the devil was cast out, the mute spoke: And the multitudes marveled, saying, "It was never so seen in Israel."

³¹ So that the multitude wondered, when they saw the mute to speak, the maimed be made whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: And they glorified the God of Israel.

⁴⁶ But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitude, because they held Him as a prophet.

⁵ But they said, "Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people."

²⁶ And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen strange things today."

¹⁷ And when He had said these things, all His adversaries were ashamed: And all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.

⁴⁷ And He taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the chief of the people sought to destroy Him, ⁴⁸ and could not find what they might do: For all the people were very attentive to hear Him.

⁶ But if we say, 'From men'; all the people will stone us: For they are persuaded that John was a prophet."

¹⁹ And that same hour the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him; but they feared the people: For they perceived that He had spoken this parable against them.

² And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill Him; for they feared the people.

¹⁸ For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this miracle. ¹⁹ The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, "Do you perceive how you prevail in nothing? Behold, the world has gone after Him."

⁶ Then Peter said, "Silver and gold, I have none; but such as I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." ⁷ And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: And immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. ⁸ And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered into the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God. ⁹ And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

¹⁷ But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us strictly threaten them, that from this time forward they do not speak to any man in this name."

²⁰ And behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood for twelve years came from behind Him, and touched the hem of His garment:

¹¹ And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and utterly could not lift herself up.

⁵ Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty eight years.

¹ Then as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from his birth.

² And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask charitable alms of those that entered into the temple;

³³ And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

³ but to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

⁴ When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me: For I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept the holy day.

⁶³ I am a companion of all those that fear You, and of those that keep Your precepts.

²⁰ He that walks with wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

¹⁶ Then those that feared the LORD spoke to one another often: And the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name.

¹³ And when they had come in, they ascended into an upper room where Peter, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James abode. ¹⁴ These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brethren.

⁴⁴ Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common; ⁴⁵ and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them to all men, as every man had need. ⁴⁶ And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, ate their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

¹¹ And when Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the Jewish people." ¹² Then, when he had considered the matter, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

⁴⁰ And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: And when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

¹⁴ Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers: For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what part has he that believes with an infidel? ¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God has said: "I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." ¹⁷ Therefore "Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will receive you",

¹¹ For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day: Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, "O LORD God of Israel, which dwell between the cherubims, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.

¹⁹ Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech you, save you us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are the LORD God, even you only.

⁶ You, even you, are LORD alone; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are in it, the seas, and all that is in it, and you preserve them all; and the host of heaven worships you.

¹⁶ As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. ¹⁷ Evening, and morning, and at noon, I will pray, and cry aloud: And He shall hear my voice. ¹⁸ He has delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: For there were many with me.

⁵ My soul, wait only upon God; for my expectation is from Him. ⁶ He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defense; I shall not be moved. ⁷ In God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. ⁸ Trust in Him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

²⁹ But I am poor and sorrowful: Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high. ³⁰ I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.

²⁹ Let my adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. ³⁰ I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yes, I will praise Him among the multitude. ³¹ For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those who condemn his soul.

⁵ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: ⁶ Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is in them: Which keeps truth forever:

¹² I, even I, am He who comforts you: Who are you, that you should be afraid of a man who shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made like grass;

¹⁰ But the LORD is the true God, He is the living God, and an everlasting King: At His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide His indignation. ¹¹ Thus you shall say to them, "The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, they shall even perish from the earth, and from under these heavens." ¹² He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, and has outstretched heaven by His discretion.

¹³ Sing to the LORD, praise the LORD all of you: For He has delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

¹⁷ 'Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heaven and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm, and there is nothing too hard for you:

¹¹ Now they were filled with madness; and communed with one another what they might do to Jesus. ¹² And it came to pass in those days, that He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

²⁵ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises to God: And the prisoners heard them.

⁸ For we do not intend, brethren, to have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life: ⁹ But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raises the dead: ¹⁰ Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver: In whom we trust that He will yet deliver us; ¹¹ you also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

¹⁶ Rejoice evermore. ¹⁷ Pray without ceasing. ¹⁸ In everything give thanks: For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that the preaching by me might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for His heavenly kingdom: To whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? ² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying, ³ "Let us break their bands apart, and cast away their cords from us." ⁴ He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: The LORD shall have them in derision. ⁵ Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure. ⁶ "Yet I have set My king upon My holy hill of Zion."

¹⁶ "Men and brethren, this scripture needed to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke beforehand concerning Judas, who was a guide to those that took Jesus.

³⁰ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, after the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying,

² For lo, Your enemies make a tumult: And those who hate You have lifted up their head. ³ They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted against Your hidden ones. ⁴ They have said, "Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may not be in remembrance any more." ⁵ For they have consulted together with one consent: They are confederated against You: ⁶ The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; ⁷ gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; ⁸ assyria has also joined with them: They have helped the children of Lot. Selah.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

⁹ Proclaim this among the Gentiles; "Prepare war", wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: ¹⁰ Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: Let the weak say, "I am strong." ¹¹ Assemble yourselves, and come, all you heathen, and gather yourselves together all around: Cause Your mighty ones to come down to that place, O LORD. ¹² Let the heathen be awakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: For there I will sit to judge all the heathen compassed around. ¹³ Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: Come, get down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. ¹⁴ Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

¹⁸ "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised,

³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him.

⁹ You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows."

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever."

¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come: For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

¹² "And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. ¹³ These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength to the beast. ¹⁴ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: For He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: And those that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful."

¹⁷ For God has put in their hearts to fulfill His will, and to agree, and give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

¹⁶ And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. ¹⁷ Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather yourselves together to the supper of the great God; ¹⁸ that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses, and of those that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great." ¹⁹ And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army. ²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that worked miracles before him, with which he deceived those that had received the mark of the beast, and those that worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. ²¹ And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: And all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

⁴ How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

⁶ "Yet I have set My king upon My holy hill of Zion."

⁷ You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.

⁷ Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and His Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation abhors, to a Servant of rulers, "Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose You."

³ He is despised and rejected by men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid our faces from Him as it were; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

⁷ And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took to myself two staffs; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock. ⁸ I also cut off three shepherds in one month; and my soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

¹³ Now when they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee into Egypt, and remain there until I bring you word: For Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him." ¹⁴ When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night, and departed into Egypt: ¹⁵ And was there until the death of Herod: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I have called My Son." ¹⁶ Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly wroth, and sent forth, and killed all the children that were in Bethlehem, and inside all its borders, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus,

¹⁸ "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death, ¹⁹ and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify Him: And the third day He shall rise again."

²⁸ But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.'

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone those which are sent to you; how often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests, elders, and all the council sought false witness against Jesus, to put Him to death; ⁶⁰ but found none: Yes, though many false witnesses came, yet they found none. Finally two false witnesses came, ⁶¹ and said, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.' " ⁶² And the high priest arose, and said to Him, "Do You answer nothing? What is it which these witness against You?" ⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said to Him, "I adjure You by the living God, that You tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God." ⁶⁴ Jesus said to Him, "You have said it: Nevertheless I say to you all, in time to come you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." ⁶⁵ Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy; what need do we have of any further witnesses? Behold, now you have heard His blasphemy. ⁶⁶ What do you think?" They answered and said, "He is guilty of death." ⁶⁷ Then they spat in His face, and buffeted Him; and others smote Him with the palms of their hands, ⁶⁸ saying, "Prophesy to us, You Christ; who is he that smote You?"

² And when they had bound Him, they led Him away, and delivered Him to the governor Pontius Pilate.

¹¹ Now Jesus stood before the governor: And the governor asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And Jesus said to him, "You said it." ¹² And when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing. ¹³ Then Pilate said to Him, "Do You not hear how many things they witness against You?" ¹⁴ But He never answered a word to him; therefore the governor marveled greatly. ¹⁵ Now at that feast the governor was accustomed to release a prisoner to the people, whoever they desired. ¹⁶ And at that time they had a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. ¹⁷ Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Who would you rather that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?" ¹⁸ For he knew that they had delivered Him out of envy. ¹⁹ While he was sitting down on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man: For I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of Him." ²⁰ But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. ²¹ The governor answered and said to them, "Which of the two would you rather that I release to you?" They said, "Barabbas." ²² Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified." ²³ And the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified." ²⁴ When Pilate saw that he could prevail in nothing, but rather that a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person: You see to it." ²⁵ Then all the people answered, and said, "His blood be on us, and on our children." ²⁶ Then he released Barabbas to them: And when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified. ²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered the whole band of soldiers to Him. ²⁸ And they stripped Him, and put a scarlet robe on Him. ²⁹ And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon His head, and a reed in His right hand: And they bowed the knee before Him, and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" ³⁰ Then they spat upon Him, and took the reed, and smote Him on the head. ³¹ And after they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him. ³² Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: They compelled him to carry His cross. ³³ And when they came to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, ³⁴ they gave Him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: But when He had tasted of it, He would not drink. ³⁵ And they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: "They divided My garments among them, and upon my vesture they cast lots." ³⁶ And sitting down they watched Him there;

⁴⁰ and saying, "You that destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save Yourself. If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross." ⁴¹ Likewise the chief priests also mocking Him, with the scribes and elders, said, ⁴² "He saved others; He cannot save Himself. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. ⁴³ He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him: For He said, 'I am the Son of God.' "

³³ saying, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they shall condemn Him to death, and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles:

¹ After two days it was the Feast of the Passover, and of Unleavened Bread: And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by craftiness, and put Him to death. ² But they said, "Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people."

⁴³ And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a large multitude with swords and wooden staffs, from the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders. ⁴⁴ Moreover he who betrayed Him gave them a sign, saying, "Whomever I kiss, that same is He: Take Him, and lead Him away safely." ⁴⁵ And as soon as he had come, he immediately went to Him, and said, "Master, Master"; and kissed Him. ⁴⁶ And they laid their hands on Him, and took Him. ⁴⁷ And one of those who stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest's, and cut off his ear. ⁴⁸ Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Have you come out, as against a thief, with swords and with wooden staffs to take Me? ⁴⁹ I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not lay hold of Me: But the scriptures must be fulfilled." ⁵⁰ Then they all forsook Him, and fled. ⁵¹ And a certain young man followed Him, having a linen cloth flung around his naked body; and the young men laid hold of him: ⁵² And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked. ⁵³ And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes. ⁵⁴ But Peter followed Him afar off, even into the palace courtyard of the high priest: And he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. ⁵⁵ And the chief priests and all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death; but found none. ⁵⁶ For many bore false witness against Him, but their testimonies did not agree together. ⁵⁷ Then certain ones arose, and bore false witness against Him, saying, ⁵⁸ "We heard Him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.' " ⁵⁹ But not even then did their testimony agree together. ⁶⁰ And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, "Do You answer nothing? What is it which these people witness against You?" ⁶¹ But He held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, "Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" ⁶² And Jesus said, "I am: And you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." ⁶³ Then the high priest tore his clothes, and said, "What need do we have of any further witnesses? ⁶⁴ You have heard the blasphemy: What do you think?" And they all condemned Him to be guilty of death. ⁶⁵ Then some began to spit on Him, and to cover His face, and to buffet Him, and to say to Him, "Prophesy": And the servants struck Him with the palms of their hands.

¹ Then in the morning without delay, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate. ² And Pilate asked Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And He answering said to them, "You said it." ³ And the chief priests accused Him of many things: But He answered nothing. ⁴ Moreover Pilate asked Him again, inquiring, "Do You answer nothing? Behold how many things they witness against You." ⁵ But Jesus still answered nothing; so that Pilate marveled. ⁶ Now at that feast he released one prisoner to them, whomever they desired. ⁷ And there was one named Barabbas, who lay bound with those who made an insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. ⁸ Then the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do like he had always done for them. ⁹ But Pilate answered them, saying, "Are you willing that I release to you the King of the Jews?" ¹⁰ For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him because of envy. ¹¹ But the chief priests stirred up the people, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them. ¹² And Pilate answered and said again to them, "What then would you rather that I do to Him whom you call the King of the Jews?" ¹³ Moreover they cried out again, "Crucify Him." ¹⁴ Then Pilate said to them, "Why, what evil has He done?" And they exceedingly cried out all the more, "Crucify Him." ¹⁵ And so Pilate, willing to please the people, released Barabbas to them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged Him, to be crucified. ¹⁶ And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, called Praetorium, and they called together the whole band of soldiers. ¹⁷ Then they clothed Him with purple, platted a crown of thorns, and put it around His head, ¹⁸ and began to salute Him, "Hail, King of the Jews!" ¹⁹ Then they smote Him on the head with a reed, and spat on Him, and bowing their knees worshiped Him. ²⁰ And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off of Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him. ²¹ Then they compelled one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry His cross. ²² And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which being interpreted is, The Place of a Skull. ²³ Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink: But He did not take it. ²⁴ And when they crucified Him, they divided His clothes, casting lots for them, to determine what every man should take. ²⁵ Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him. ²⁶ And the superscription of His accusation was written over Him, THE KING OF THE JEWS. ²⁷ And with Him they crucified two thieves; one on His right hand, and the other on His left.

³¹ Likewise also the chief priests mocking, said among themselves with the scribes, "He saved others; He cannot save Himself.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: Therefore that Holy One which shall be born of you shall also be called the Son of God.

²² saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day."

³¹ The same day there came certain ones of the Pharisees, saying to Him, "Get out, and depart from this place: For Herod will kill You." ³² And He said to them, "You go, and tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.' ³³ Nevertheless I must walk today, tomorrow, and the day following: For it cannot be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem.

³¹ Then He took the twelve to Himself, and said to them, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished. ³² For He shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully treated, and spit on: ³³ Then they shall scourge Him, and put Him to death: And the third day He shall rise again."

¹³ Then the lord of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: It may be they will reverence him when they see him.' ¹⁴ But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.' ¹⁵ So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. Therefore, what shall the lord of the vineyard do to them? ¹⁶ He shall come and destroy those vinedressers, and shall give the vineyard to others." And when they heard it, they said, "God forbid." ¹⁷ Moreover He beheld them, and said, "What is this then that is written, 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner'? ¹⁸ Whoever falls upon that stone shall be broken: But on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder." ¹⁹ And that same hour the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him; but they feared the people: For they perceived that He had spoken this parable against them.

¹ Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called The Passover. ² And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill Him; for they feared the people. ³ Then Satan entered into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being numbered as one of the twelve. ⁴ And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. ⁵ And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. ⁶ Therefore he promised, and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.

⁴⁷ And while He still spoke, behold a multitude, and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. ⁴⁸ But Jesus said to him, "Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?" ⁴⁹ When those who were around Him saw what would follow, they said to Him, "Lord, shall we smite with the sword?" ⁵⁰ And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. ⁵¹ And Jesus answered and said, "Allow thus far." And He touched his ear, and healed him. ⁵² Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders, which had come to Him, "Have you come out, as against a thief, with swords and wooden staffs?

⁶³ And the men who held Jesus mocked Him, and smote Him.

⁷ And as soon as he knew that He belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself was also in Jerusalem at that time. ⁸ Moreover when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad: For he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by Him. ⁹ Then he questioned Him with many words; but He answered him nothing. ¹⁰ And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused Him. ¹¹ Also Herod with his men of war disdained Him as nothing, mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate. ¹² Moreover the same day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other: For before they were at enmity between themselves. ¹³ And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people, ¹⁴ said to them, "You have brought this Man to me, as one that perverts the people: And behold, having examined Him in your presence, I have found no fault in this Man concerning those things of which you accuse Him: ¹⁵ No, nor did Herod: For I sent you to him; and see, nothing worthy of death was done by Him. ¹⁶ I will therefore chastise Him, and release Him." ¹⁷ (For out of necessity he must release one to them at the feast). ¹⁸ But they cried out all at once, saying, "Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas": ¹⁹ (Who was cast into prison for a certain insurrection made in the city, and for murder.) ²⁰ Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spoke to them again. ²¹ But they cried out, saying, "Crucify Him, crucify Him." ²² Now he said to them the third time, "Why, what evil has He done? I have found no cause for death in Him: I will therefore chastise Him, and let Him go." ²³ But they were urgent with loud voices, requiring that He might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. ²⁴ And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. ²⁵ And he released to them him that for insurrection and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will. ²⁶ Then as they led Him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might carry it after Jesus. ²⁷ And a large company of people followed Him, also women which mourned and lamented Him. ²⁸ But Jesus turning to them said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. ²⁹ For behold, the days are coming in which they shall say, 'Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the nipples which never nourished from the breast.' ³⁰ Then they shall begin to say to the mountains, "Fall on us"; and to the hills, "Cover us." ' ³¹ For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?" ³² And there were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. ³³ And when they had come to the place which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. ³⁴ Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." And they divided His clothes, and cast lots. ³⁵ And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them ridiculed Him, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself, if He is Christ, the chosen of God." ³⁶ The soldiers also mocked Him, coming to Him, and offering Him vinegar, ³⁷ and saying, "If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself." ³⁸ And a superscription was also written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

¹¹ He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.

³⁶ do you say of Him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming'; because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

¹ When Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, into which He and His disciples entered. ² And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place: For Jesus often resorted there with His disciples. ³ Then Judas, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. ⁴ Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon Him, went forth, and said to them, "Whom do you seek?" ⁵ They answered Him, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus said to them, "I am He." And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them. ⁶ Then, as soon as He said to them, "I am He", they went backward, and fell to the ground. ⁷ Then He asked them again, "Whom do you seek?" And they said, "Jesus of Nazareth." ⁸ Jesus answered, "I have told you that I am He: If therefore you seek Me, let these go their way": ⁹ That the saying might be fulfilled, which He spoke, "Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none." ¹⁰ Then Simon Peter having a sword, drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. ¹¹ Then Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword into the sheath: The cup which My Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?" ¹² Then the band of troops, the captain, and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound Him,

¹⁹ The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples, and of His doctrine. ²⁰ Jesus answered him, "I spoke openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, where the Jews always assemble; and in secret I have said nothing. ²¹ Why do you ask Me? Ask those which heard Me what I said to them: Behold, they know what I said." ²² And when He had spoken this, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, "Do You answer the high priest in this manner?" ²³ Jesus answered him, "If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: But if well, why do you smite Me?" ²⁴ Now Annas had sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

²⁸ Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the hall of judgment: And it was early; but they themselves did not go into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; that they might yet eat the Passover.

³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

²⁷ Because You will not leave my soul in hell, neither will You permit Your Holy One to see corruption.

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted to you;

³⁰ by stretching forth Your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of Your holy Child Jesus."

²⁶ For such a High Priest suited us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

²⁰ But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.

¹³ With him is wisdom and strength, he has counsel and understanding.

¹⁰ Surely the wrath of man shall praise you: You shall restrain the remainder of wrath.

³⁰ There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

¹⁹ That say, "Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: And let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!"

²⁹ This also comes forth from the LORD of hosts, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in operation.

¹³ Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being His counselor Has taught him?

¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure':

¹⁰ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief: When you shall make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.

²⁴ The Son of Man goes as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born."

⁵⁴ But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen in this manner?"

²² And truly the Son of Man goes, as it was determined: But woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!"

⁴⁴ And He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me." ⁴⁵ Then He opened their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, ⁴⁶ and He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

²³ Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

¹⁸ But those things, which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

²⁷ For those that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning Him. ²⁸ And though they found no cause for death in Him, yet they desired of Pilate that He should be slain. ²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the tree, and laid Him in a sepulchre.

¹¹ In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will:

¹⁷ In which God, more abundantly willing to show the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

¹⁷ Incline your ear, O LORD, and hear; open your eyes, O LORD, and see: And hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God. ¹⁸ Truthfully, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries, ¹⁹ and have cast their gods into the fire: For they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: Therefore they have destroyed them. ²⁰ Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the LORD, even You only."

¹ "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and show My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

¹⁵ Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of Your holiness and of Your glory: Where is Your zeal and Your strength, the sounding of Your bowels and of Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained?

⁵⁰ Until the LORD looks down, and beholds from heaven.

¹ Remember, O LORD, what has come on us: Consider, and behold our reproach.

⁶ And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you dwell among scorpions: Do not be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

¹⁸ O my God, incline Your ear, and hear; open Your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name: For we do not present our supplications before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies.

¹³ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they had knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

¹⁷ But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us strictly threaten them, that from this time forward they do not speak to any man in this name." ¹⁸ Therefore they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

²⁷ But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord in the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, "It was necessary that the Word of God should first have been spoken to you: But seeing you put it away from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

³ They therefore abode a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony to the word of His grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

⁸ And he went into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for a span of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

²⁶ For the king knows of these things, before whom I also speak freely: For I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; seeing this thing was not done in a corner.

³¹ preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

¹⁸ Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching to the end with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; ¹⁹ and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in chains: That I may speak the gospel boldly, as I ought to speak.

¹⁴ and many of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

² But even after we had suffered beforehand, and were shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we were bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God with much contention.

⁷ For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. ⁸ Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner: But be a partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that the preaching by me might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁶ Therefore say to the children of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments:

³⁴ Or has God assayed to go and take him a nation from the middle of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

¹⁵ O LORD, You know: Remember me and visit me, and take revenge for me on my persecutors; in your long-suffering do not take me away: Know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

¹¹ But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: Therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: They shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: Their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. ¹² But, O LORD of hosts, who tests the righteous, and sees the mind and the heart, let me see Your vengeance upon them: For I have opened my cause to You.

⁵⁴ And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, would you like that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did?" ⁵⁵ But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. ⁵⁶ For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them." And they went to another village.

⁴⁹ When those who were around Him saw what would follow, they said to Him, "Lord, shall we smite with the sword?" ⁵⁰ And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. ⁵¹ And Jesus answered and said, "Allow thus far." And He touched his ear, and healed him.

⁴⁸ Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders, you will not believe."

²² "You men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a Man approved by God among you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did by Him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know:

⁴³ Moreover fear came upon every soul: And many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

¹⁶ And His name through faith in His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know: Yes, the faith which is through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

²⁷ "For truly against Your holy Child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

¹² And by the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were performed among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's Porch.

¹⁵ so that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. ¹⁶ Also a multitude came out of the cities all around to Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and those who were vexed with unclean spirits: And they were healed, every single one.

⁸ And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

³⁴ And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ makes you whole: Arise, and make your bed." Then he arose immediately. ³⁵ And all that dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him, and turned to the Lord.

⁴⁰ But Peter put them all out, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning himself toward the body said, "Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes: And when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ Moreover he gave her his hand, lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. ⁴² And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

¹⁹ Again I say to you, That if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven. ²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in the midst of them."

²² And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."

¹² Truly, truly, I say to you, He that believes in Me, the works that I do he shall do also; and greater works than these he shall do; because I go to My Father.

⁷ If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.

¹⁶ You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bear forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: That whatever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you.

²³ And in that day you shall ask Me nothing. Truly, truly, I say to you, Whatever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give you it. ²⁴ Until now you have asked nothing in My name: Ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

² And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

²⁹ And now Lord, behold their threats: And grant to Your servants, that with all boldness they may speak Your word,

²⁵ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises to God: And the prisoners heard them. ²⁶ Moreover suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bands were loosed.

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all people liberally, and without suffering reproach; and it shall be given to him.

¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of you, and of your own have we given you. ¹⁵ For we are strangers before you, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. ¹⁶ O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes of your hand, and is all your own.

¹² Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.

³⁹ And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

¹⁹ And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh: ²⁰ That they may walk in My statutes, and keep My ordinances, and do them: And they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

¹⁰ He who is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: And he who is unjust in the least is also unjust in much. ¹¹ Therefore, if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? ¹² And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

¹¹ And now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your own name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one, as We are.

²¹ that they all may be one; as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they may also be one in Us: That the world may believe that You have sent Me. ²² And the glory which You gave Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are one: ²³ I in them, and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them, as You have loved Me.

¹⁴ These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brethren.

¹ And when the Day of Pentecost fully came, they were all with one accord in one place.

⁵ So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members of one another.

⁵ Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded toward one another according to Christ Jesus: ⁶ That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

¹² For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: So also is Christ. ¹³ For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether we are Jews or Gentiles, whether we are bond-servants or free; and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. ¹⁴ For the body is not one member, but many.

¹¹ Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

² with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love; ³ endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. ⁴ There is one body, and one Spirit, just as you are called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

²⁷ Only let your conversation be in accord with the gospel of Christ: That whether I come and see you, or else am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

¹ Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any inward affection and mercies, ² fulfill my joy by being likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

⁸ Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion toward one another, love as brethren, be tender-hearted, be courteous:

¹¹ If any man speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God gives: That in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

²⁰ And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

⁵² And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

⁴⁸ And you are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you: But tarry in the city of Jerusalem, until you are endued with power from on high."

¹⁶ And of His fullness we all have received, and grace for grace.

³² This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. ³³ Therefore being exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has shed forth this, which you now see and hear.

⁴⁷ praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those such as should be saved.

¹² And by the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were performed among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's Porch. ¹³ And none of the rest dared join himself to them: But the people magnified them. ¹⁴ And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women.)

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not worked by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, ¹⁹ Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and fully around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

⁵ For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

⁴ God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, with diverse miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

⁷ For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the works of your hand: He knows your walking through this great wilderness: These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.

⁹ O fear the LORD, you His saints: For there is no want to those that fear Him. ¹⁰ The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: But those that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

²¹ Jesus said to Him, "If you desire to be perfect, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: And come and follow Me."

²¹ Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: And come, take up the cross, and follow Me."

³³ Sell what you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which do not wax old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

⁹ And I say to you, Make for yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that when you fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

³⁵ And He said to them, "When I sent you without money bag, satchel, and shoes, did you lack anything?" And they said, "Nothing."

⁴⁵ and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them to all men, as every man had need.

³⁷ having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

¹² that you may walk honestly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.

¹⁹ laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

³⁷ having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

² and kept back part of the price paid, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part of it, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

¹ Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring by the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. ² Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples to them, and said, "It is not reasonable that we should leave the Word of God, and serve tables. ³ Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of honest repute, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. ⁴ But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word." ⁵ And the saying pleased the whole multitude: And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte from Antioch: ⁶ Whom they set before the apostles: And when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

²⁰ Avoiding this, that no man should blame us for this abundance which is administered by us: ²¹ Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

¹⁷ And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and He surnamed them Boanerges, which is, "The sons of thunder";

¹⁹ Now those that were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but to the Jews only. ²⁰ And some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

²² Then tidings of these things came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: And they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. ²³ Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave to the Lord. ²⁴ For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith: And many people were added to the Lord. ²⁵ Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus, to seek Saul:

³⁰ Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

²⁵ And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

² Therefore, when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.

¹² Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had worked among the Gentiles by them.

³⁷ Moreover Barnabas was determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

³⁹ And the contention was so sharp between them, that they parted ways from one another: And so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus;

¹⁶ There also went with us certain ones of the disciples from Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we were to lodge.

⁶ Or is it only I and Barnabas that do not have power to abstain from working?

¹ Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.

⁹ And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship; that we should go to the heathen, and they to the circumcised.

¹³ And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; so that even Barnabas was also carried away with their dissimulation.

²⁹ And everyone who has forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

³⁴ Neither was there any among them who lacked: For as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, ³⁵ and laid them down at the apostles' feet: And distribution was made to every man accordingly as he had need.

¹ But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, ² and kept back part of the price paid, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part of it, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
