³¹ And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that makes desolate.

¹⁰ The adversary has spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: For she has seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom You commanded that they should not enter into Your congregation.

⁷ The LORD has cast off His altar, He has abhorred His sanctuary, He has given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.

²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: But they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things in that place: Therefore have I set it far from them. ²¹ And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for plunder, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.

⁷ And he said to them, "Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: Go forth." And they went forth, and slew in the city.

²¹ 'Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left shall fall by the sword. ²² And you shall do as I have done: You shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

¹¹ Yes, he magnified himself even to the Prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. ¹² And a host was given to him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered. ¹³ Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said to that certain saint which spoke, "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?"

²⁴ And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: And he shall destroy in a manner that excites wonder, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

²⁶ And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: After this, shut up the vision; for it shall be for many days."

²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

¹¹ And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

¹⁵ Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation', spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place", (whoever reads, let him understand):

¹⁴ "But when you see the 'abomination of desolation', spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let him that reads understand), "Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains:

²⁰ Moreover when you see Jerusalem compassed around with armies, then know that its desolation is near.

⁴⁰ Beware therefore, lest that which is spoken of in the prophets come upon you; ⁴¹ 'Behold, you despisers, wonder, and perish: For I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no way believe, though a man declare it to you.' "

¹² "And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
