⁸ And shall also carry captives into Egypt, their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.

³⁰ And now, though you would necessarily be gone, because you greatly long after your father's house, yet why have you stolen my gods?"

¹² For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt: I am the LORD.

⁴ For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them: On their gods also the LORD executed judgments.

³ And you shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and you shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

²⁴ And he said, "You have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and you are gone away: And what have I more? And what is this that you say to me, What ails you?

¹⁶ and on all the ships of Tarshish, and on all pleasant pictures.

¹⁹ and have cast their gods into the fire: For they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: Therefore they have destroyed them.

¹ Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols were on the beasts, and on the domestic beasts: Your carriages were heavy laden; they are a burden to the weary beast. ² They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but have themselves gone into captivity.

¹² And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in peace. ¹³ He shall also break the images of Bethshemesh, who is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians he shall burn with fire." ' "

²⁵ The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, said; "Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all those who trust in him:

² And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: Which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god. ³ And the king spoke to Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain ones of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;

³ I ate no pleasant bread, neither did flesh nor wine come into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.

⁶ For it also came from Israel: The workman made it; therefore it is not God: But the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

⁵ The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: For its people shall mourn over it, and their priests that rejoiced on it, for the glory of it; because the glory has departed from it. ⁶ It shall also be carried to Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

¹⁵ Though he is fruitful among his brothers, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: He shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
