¹ In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; ² in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by books the number of the years, which came by the Word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet, that He would fulfill seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. ³ And I set my face toward the LORD God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: ⁴ And I prayed to the LORD my God and made my confession, and said, "O LORD, the great and frightful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to those who love Him, and to those who keep His commandments; ⁵ we have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and from Your judgments: ⁶ Neither have we hearkened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our princes, our rulers, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. ⁷ O LORD, righteousness belongs to You, but to us confusion of faces, as at this time; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against You. ⁸ O Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against You. ⁹ To the LORD our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against Him; ¹⁰ neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets. ¹¹ Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, even by departing, that they might not obey Your voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him. ¹² And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us, and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: For under the whole heaven it has not been done as has been done upon Jerusalem. ¹³ As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come upon us: Yet we did not make our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand Your truth. ¹⁴ Therefore, the LORD has watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: For the LORD our God is righteous in all His works which He does: For we did not obey His voice. ¹⁵ And now, O LORD our God, that has brought Your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and has brought Yourself renown, as it is this day: We have sinned, we have done wickedly. ¹⁶ O Lord, I beseech You, according to all Your righteousness, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain: Because of our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those that are around us. ¹⁷ Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake. ¹⁸ O my God, incline Your ear, and hear; open Your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name: For we do not present our supplications before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; Defer not, for Your own sake, O my God: For Your city and Your people are called by Your name." ²⁰ And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God; ²¹ yes, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. ²² And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill and understanding. ²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment came forth, and I have come to show you; for you are greatly beloved: Therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. ²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince, shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: The street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. ²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

²¹ And Daniel continued to even the first year of King Cyrus.

³¹ And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.

²⁸ So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

¹ "Also I, in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.

²¹ To fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths: For as long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill three score and ten years.

¹ Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

³ Lift up Your feet to the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy has wickedly done in the sanctuary. ⁴ Your enemies roar in the midst of Your congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs. ⁵ A man was famous accordingly as he lifted up axes upon the thick trees. ⁶ But now they break down the carved work of it at once with axes and hammers. ⁷ They have cast fire into Your sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of Your name to the ground.

¹ O God, the heathen have come into your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in heaps. ² They have given the dead bodies of Your servants to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of your saints to the wild beasts of the earth.

²⁴ Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers: For Your testimonies are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Your precepts.

¹¹ Then I said, "Lord, how long?" And He answered, "Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land is utterly desolate, ¹² and the LORD has removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

¹⁰ The city of confusion is broken down: Every house is shut up, that no man may come in. ¹¹ There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone. ¹² In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.

¹⁰ Your holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

³⁴ Then I will cause the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem: For the land shall be desolate."

¹¹ And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. ¹² And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation', said the LORD, 'for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

¹⁸ To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and her kings, and her princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

⁶ then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth." ' "

¹⁸ "Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest." '

⁷ And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land comes: And then many nations and great kings shall enservant him.

¹⁰ For thus says the LORD, 'That after seventy years are accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform My good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

¹ How the city that was full of people sits solitary! How she has become like a widow! She who was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how she has become tribute payer!

¹⁵ And it came to pass, when I, even I, Daniel, had seen the vision and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. ¹⁶ And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, "Gabriel, make this man understand the vision."

¹² Therefore for your sake Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

⁵ "Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, 'When you all fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did you all really fast to Me at all, even to Me?

¹⁵ Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation', spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place", (whoever reads, let him understand):

¹⁴ "But when you see the 'abomination of desolation', spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let him that reads understand), "Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains:

³⁴ And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, "I beseech you, of whom does the prophet speak this? Of himself, or of some other man?"

¹³ Until I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

¹⁵ and that from childhood you have known the Holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: ¹⁷ That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished for all good works.

¹⁰ Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you: ¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them signified, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. ¹² To whom it was revealed that, not for themselves, but to us they ministered these things, which are now reported to you by those that have preached the gospel to you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

¹⁹ We also have a more sure word of prophecy; which you do well that you take heed of, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the day star arise in your hearts: ²⁰ Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. ²¹ For in old times the prophecy did not come by the will of man: But holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

³ Blessed is he that reads, and those that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it: For the time is at hand.

²¹ Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

⁵ And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands to the LORD my God,

⁶ Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: And when he came thither, he ate no bread, nor drink water: For he mourned because of the transgression of those that had been carried away.

⁴ And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, ⁵ and said, "I beseech you, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keeps covenant and mercy for those that love him and observe his commandments: ⁶ Let your ear now be attentive, and your eyes open, that you may hear the prayer of your servant, which I pray before you now, day and night, for the children of Israel your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against you: Both I and my father's house have sinned. ⁷ We have dealt very corruptly against you, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which you commanded your servant Moses. ⁸ Remember, I beseech you, the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, "If you transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations: ⁹ But if you turn to me, and keep My commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out to the uttermost part of the heaven, yet I will gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen to set my name there. ¹⁰ Now these are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your great power, and by your strong hand. ¹¹ O LORD, I beseech you, let now your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who desire to fear your name: And prosper, I implore you, your servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

¹ Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackcloths, and earth on them.

¹ When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai tore his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; ² and even came before the king's gate: For none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. ³ And in every province, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

¹⁶ "Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I and my maidens will also fast likewise; and so I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law: And if I perish, I perish."

¹³ But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom.

¹⁰ When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. ¹¹ I also made sackcloth my garment; and I became a proverb to them.

¹³ You shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion: For the time to favor her, yes, the set time has come, ¹⁴ for Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor her dust. ¹⁵ So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. ¹⁶ When the LORD shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory. ¹⁷ He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

¹² And in that day the Lord GOD of hosts did call for weeping, and for mourning, and for baldness, and for girding with sackcloth:

¹⁰ For thus says the LORD, 'That after seventy years are accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform My good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. ¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you', said the LORD, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. ¹² Then you shall call upon Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will hearken to you. ¹³ And you shall seek Me, and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

³ 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'

³⁷ Thus says the Lord GOD; "For this I will yet be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

¹⁰ Now when Daniel knew the writing document was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.

² In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. ³ I ate no pleasant bread, neither did flesh nor wine come into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.

¹³ Gird yourselves, and lament, you priests: Howl, you ministers of the altar: Come, lie all night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God: For the food offering and the drink offering is withheld from the house of your God.

¹² "Therefore now also," says the LORD, "turn even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

⁶ For word came to the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he set apart his robe from him, and covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. ⁷ And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, "Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything: Let them not feed, nor drink water: ⁸ But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God: Yes, let everyone turn from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. ⁹ Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from His fierce anger, that we do not perish?"

³⁷ and she was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

³⁰ And Cornelius said, "Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. ⁹ Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. ¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.

¹⁶ Confess your faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. ¹⁷ Elijah was a man subject to similar passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: And it did not rain on the earth for a period of three years and six months. ¹⁸ And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

⁶ and showing mercy to thousands of those that love Me, and keep My commandments.

⁶ And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, "The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, ⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, to the third and to the fourth generation."

⁴⁰ If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary to me; ⁴¹ and that I also have walked contrary to them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: ⁴² Then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

¹⁸ the LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation. ¹⁹ Pardon, I beseech you, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your mercy, and as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

¹⁰ and showing mercy to thousands of those that love me and keep My commandments.

⁹ Know therefore that the LORD your God, he is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with those that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

²¹ You shall not be affrighted at them: For the LORD your God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.

²³ And he said, "LORD God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keep covenant and mercy with your servants that walk before you with all their heart:

⁴⁷ yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land where they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication to you in the land of those that carried them captives, saying, "We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness; ⁴⁸ and so return to you with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name: ⁴⁹ Then hear you their prayer and their supplication in heaven your dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

¹⁴ if my people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

⁵ and said, "I beseech you, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keeps covenant and mercy for those that love him and observe his commandments:

² And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. ³ And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshiped the LORD their God.

³² Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keep covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before you, that has come on us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria to this day.

⁵ I acknowledged my sin to You, and I have not hid my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

¹³ Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against the LORD your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed My voice', said the LORD.

¹⁷ 'Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heaven and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm, and there is nothing too hard for you: ¹⁸ You show lovingkindness to thousands, and recompense the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: The Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is His name, ¹⁹ great in counsel, and mighty in work: For Your eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of men: To give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, that pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not maintain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. ¹⁹ He will return again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

² God is jealous, and the LORD revenges; the LORD revenges, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies. ³ The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: The LORD has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet. ⁴ He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers: Bashan languishes, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languishes. ⁵ The mountains quake at Him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at His presence, yes, the world, and all that dwell in it. ⁶ Who can stand before His indignation? And who can abide in the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by Him.abide: In Hebrew, stand up ⁷ The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those that trust in Him.

⁷² to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant;

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

¹² Blessed is the man that endures temptation: For when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to those that love Him?

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

² By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: And His commandments are not grievous.

⁴⁷ yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land where they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication to you in the land of those that carried them captives, saying, "We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness; ⁴⁸ and so return to you with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name: ⁴⁹ Then hear you their prayer and their supplication in heaven your dwelling place, and maintain their cause, ⁵⁰ and forgive your people that have sinned against you, and all their transgressions in which they have transgressed against you, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

³⁷ yet if they bethink themselves in the land where they are carried captive, and turn and pray to you in the land of their captivity, saying, "We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly; ³⁸ if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, and toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name: ³⁹ Then hear you from heaven, even from your dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive your people which have sinned against you.

⁶ and said, "O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to you, my God: For our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up to heaven.

⁶ Let your ear now be attentive, and your eyes open, that you may hear the prayer of your servant, which I pray before you now, day and night, for the children of Israel your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against you: Both I and my father's house have sinned. ⁷ We have dealt very corruptly against you, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which you commanded your servant Moses. ⁸ Remember, I beseech you, the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, "If you transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:

³³ However, you are just in all that is brought on us; for you have done right, but we have done wickedly: ³⁴ Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor listened to your commandments and your testimonies, with which you did testify against them.

²¹ For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

⁶ We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

¹⁰² I have not departed from Your ordinances: For You have taught me.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

¹³ in transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

⁵ You meet him who rejoices and works righteousness, those who remember You in Your ways: Behold, You are wroth; for we have sinned: In those is continuance, and we shall be saved. ⁶ But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. ⁷ And there is none who calls on Your name, that stirs up himself to take hold of You: For You have hid Your face from us, and have consumed us, because of our iniquities.

²⁵ We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covers us: For we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.

⁷ O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do it for Your name's sake: For our backslidings are many; we have sinned against You.

²⁰ Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: My bowels are troubled; my heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: Abroad the sword bereaves, at home it is like death.

⁹ And those of you who escape shall remember Me among the nations where they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which has departed from Me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: And they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

¹¹ Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, even by departing, that they might not obey Your voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.

¹⁵ And now, O LORD our God, that has brought Your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and has brought Yourself renown, as it is this day: We have sinned, we have done wickedly.

² The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, "Go, take to yourself a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: For the land has committed great whoredoms, departing from the LORD."

⁷ Even from the days of your fathers, you all have gone away from My ordinances, and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you", says the LORD of hosts. "But you all say, 'In what shall we return?'

¹² Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

¹³ Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, "Turn from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. ¹⁴ Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.

¹⁰ And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people: But they would not listen.

¹⁵ And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: ¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

⁷ Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass to this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.

³⁴ Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor listened to your commandments and your testimonies, with which you did testify against them.

¹⁰ Which say to the seers, "See not"; and to the prophets, "Do not prophesy to us right things, speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits: ¹¹ Get out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us."

¹⁶ Thus says the LORD, "All of you stand in the roads, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.' ¹⁷ Also I set watchmen over you, saying, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet.' But they said, 'We will not listen.'

¹³ And now, because you have done all these works", said the LORD, "and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear; and I called you, but you did not answer;

²⁵ Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: ²⁶ Yet they did not listen to me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: They did worse than their fathers.

³ "From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even to this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking; but you have not listened. ⁴ And the LORD has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear. ⁵ They said, 'All of you turn now again, everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and to your fathers forever and ever: ⁶ And do not go after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no harm.' ⁷ Yet you have not listened to Me", said the LORD; "that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

⁵ to listen to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I sent to you, both rising up early, and sending them, but you have not listened;

¹⁹ Because they have not listened to My words', said the LORD, 'which I sent to them by My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but you would not hear', said the LORD.

³² because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke Me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. ³³ And they have turned the back to Me, and not the face: Though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not listened to receive instruction.

⁴ However, I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, "Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate." ⁵ But they did not listen, nor incline their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.

¹⁶ "As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you.

¹⁰ neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets.

⁴ "Do not be as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have cried out, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Turn now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings, all of you" ': But they did not hear, nor hearken to Me", says the LORD. ⁵ "Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? ⁶ But My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? And they returned and said, 'As the LORD of hosts thought to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, in this manner He has dealt with us.' "

⁸ And the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, saying, ⁹ "Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, 'Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions, every man to his brother: ¹⁰ And do not oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.' ¹¹ But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. ¹² Yes, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts has sent in His Spirit by the former prophets: Therefore a great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.

³⁴ Now when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive the fruit of it. ³⁵ But the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, killed another, and stoned yet another. ³⁶ Again, he sent other servants more than the first: And they did likewise to them. ³⁷ But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will reverence my son.' ³⁸ But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.' ³⁹ And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. ⁴⁰ Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone those which are sent to you; how often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

¹⁰ And in due season he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that they should give him some of the fruit of the vineyard: But the vinedressers beat him, and sent him away empty handed. ¹¹ And again he sent another servant: And they beat him also, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty handed. ¹² And again he sent a third: And they wounded him also, and cast him out.

⁵¹ "You stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit: As your fathers did, so you do. ⁵² Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain those which foretold of the coming of the Just One; of whom you now have been the betrayers and murderers:

²⁷ For those that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning Him.

¹⁵ Who killed both the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God, and are contrary to all men: ¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to always fill up their sins: For the wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

³³ And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: And your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. ³⁴ Then shall the land enjoy her Sabbaths, as long as it lies desolate, and you be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her Sabbaths.

²⁷ And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the heathen, where the LORD shall lead you.

⁴ He is the Rock, his work is perfect: For all his ways are judgment: A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

⁶ In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes. ⁷ For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

⁶ and said, "O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to you, my God: For our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up to heaven. ⁷ Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass to this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.

¹³ And after all that is come on us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that you our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such deliverance as this;

³³ However, you are just in all that is brought on us; for you have done right, but we have done wickedly:

¹⁵ My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me,

⁴ Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in your sight: That You might be justified when You speak, and be clear when You judge.

¹⁴ Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, You are the God of my salvation: And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.

¹³⁷ TZADDI: You are righteous, O LORD, and Your judgments are upright.

¹¹ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

¹⁶ They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: They who are makers of idols shall go into confusion together.

²⁶ As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets. ²⁷ Saying to a stock, 'You are my father'; and to a stone, 'You have brought me forth': For they have turned their back to me, and not their face: But in the time of their trouble they will say, 'Arise, and save us.'

¹ Righteous are You, O LORD, when I plead with You: Yet let me talk with You about your judgments: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all happy who deal very treacherously?

⁹ And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them.

⁶³ That you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more because of your shame, when I am pacified toward you for all that you have done", said the Lord GOD.' "

³¹ Then you shall remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

⁸ O Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against You.

¹⁴ Therefore, the LORD has watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: For the LORD our God is righteous in all His works which He does: For we did not obey His voice.

⁹ "For lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, as grain is sifted in a sieve, yet the smallest grain shall not fall upon the earth.sift: In Hebrew, cause to movegrain: In Hebrew, stone

⁴⁰ But the other answering rebuked him, saying, "Do you not fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: But this Man has done nothing amiss."

⁵ And there were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. ⁶ Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every man heard them speak in his own language. ⁷ And they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Behold, are not all these who speak Galileans? ⁸ And how come we hear every man in our own tongue, in which we were born? ⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya around Cyrene, strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretes and Arabians, we hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God."

²¹ What fruit did you have then in those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

²⁰ We acknowledge our wickedness, O LORD, and the iniquity of our fathers: For we have sinned against You.

⁷ Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and no one helped her: The adversaries saw her, and mocked at her Sabbaths. ⁸ Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: All who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: Yes, she sighs, and turns backward.

¹⁸ "The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against His commandment: Hear, I implore you, all people, and behold my sorrow: My virgins and my young men have gone into captivity.

⁴² We have transgressed and have rebelled: You have not pardoned.

¹⁶ The crown has fallen from our head: Woe to us, that we have sinned!

⁶ Neither have we hearkened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our princes, our rulers, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. ⁷ O LORD, righteousness belongs to You, but to us confusion of faces, as at this time; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against You.

¹⁷ and refused to obey, neither were mindful of your wonders that you did among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: But you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsook them not. ¹⁸ Yes, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, "This is your God that brought you up out of Egypt, and had worked great provocations; ¹⁹ yet you in your manifold mercies forsook them not in the wilderness: The pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way in which they should go.

²⁶ Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against you, and cast your law behind their backs, and slew your prophets which testified against them to turn them to you, and they worked great provocations. ²⁷ Therefore you delivered them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: And in the time of their trouble, when they cried out to you, you heard them from heaven; and according to your manifold mercies you gave them saviors, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies. ²⁸ But after they had rest, they did evil again before you: Therefore left you them in the land of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: Yet when they returned, and cried out to you, you heard them from heaven; and many times did you deliver them according to your mercies;

³¹ Nevertheless for your great mercies' sake you did not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for you are a gracious and merciful God.

¹² Also to you, O Lord, belongs mercy: For you render to every man according to his work.

⁵ For You, LORD, are good, and ready to forgive; and abound in mercy to all those who call upon You.

¹⁵ But You, O LORD, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth.

⁴³ Many times He delivered them; but they provoked Him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. ⁴⁴ Nevertheless, He regarded their affliction, when He heard their cry: ⁴⁵ And He remembered His covenant for them, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies.

⁴ But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.

⁷ Let Israel hope in the LORD: For with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plentiful redemption.

⁸ The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. ⁹ The LORD is good to all: And His tender mercies are over all His works.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

⁷ I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies, and according to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.

²² It is by the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions never fail. ²³ They are new every morning: Great is Your faithfulness.

⁸ But they rebelled against Me, and would not listen to Me: Every man did not cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: Then I said, 'I will pour out My fury upon them, to accomplish My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. ⁹ But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made Myself known to them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness: They did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and they greatly polluted My Sabbaths: Then I said, 'I will pour out My fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.'

⁵ we have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and from Your judgments:

⁷ O LORD, righteousness belongs to You, but to us confusion of faces, as at this time; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against You.

² And he prayed to the LORD, and said, "I implore You, O LORD, was this not my concern, when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled beforehand to Tarshish: For I knew that You are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and You repent of the evil.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, that pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not maintain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. ¹⁹ He will return again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. ⁷ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace; ⁸ in which He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, through His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ even when we were dead in sins, has vivified us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved); ⁶ and has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: ⁷ That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

¹³ Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, "Turn from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. ¹⁴ Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God. ¹⁵ And they rejected his statutes, and His covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were all around them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.

¹² Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed His covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.

¹⁰ And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken your commandments, ¹¹ which you have commanded by your servants the prophets, saying, "The land, to which you go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.

¹³ You came down also upon Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments: ¹⁴ And made known to them your holy Sabbath, and commanded them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses your servant: ¹⁵ And gave them bread from heaven for their hunger, and brought forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promised those that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them. ¹⁶ But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and did not hearken to your commandments, ¹⁷ and refused to obey, neither were mindful of your wonders that you did among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: But you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsook them not.

⁶ Neither have we hearkened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our princes, our rulers, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

¹ God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,

¹⁴ But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments; ¹⁵ and if you shall despise My statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that you will not do all My commandments, but that you break My covenant: ¹⁶ I also will do this to you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. ¹⁷ And I will set my face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies: Those that hate you shall reign over you; and you shall flee when none pursues you. ¹⁸ And if you will not yet for all this listen to me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. ¹⁹ And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: ²⁰ And your strength shall be spent in vain: For your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits. ²¹ And if you walk contrary to me, and will not listen to me; I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins. ²² I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your domestic beasts, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate. ²³ And if you will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary to me; ²⁴ then will I also walk contrary to you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins. ²⁵ And I will bring a sword on you, that shall avenge the quarrel of My covenant: And when you are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. ²⁶ And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: And you shall eat, and not be satisfied. ²⁷ And if you will not for all this listen to me, but walk contrary to me; ²⁸ then I will walk contrary to you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. ²⁹ And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. ³⁰ And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcasses on the carcasses of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. ³¹ And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the smell of your sweet odors. ³² And I will bring the land into desolation: And your enemies which dwell in it shall be astonished at it. ³³ And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: And your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. ³⁴ Then shall the land enjoy her Sabbaths, as long as it lies desolate, and you be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her Sabbaths. ³⁵ As long as it lies desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your Sabbaths, when you dwelled on it. ³⁶ And on them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursues. ³⁷ And they shall fall one on another, as it were before a sword, when none pursues: And you shall have no power to stand before your enemies. ³⁸ And you shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. ³⁹ And those that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. ⁴⁰ If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary to me; ⁴¹ and that I also have walked contrary to them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: ⁴² Then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. ⁴³ The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her Sabbaths, while she lies desolate without them: And they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: Because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred My statutes. ⁴⁴ And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break My covenant with them: For I am the LORD their God. ⁴⁵ But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD. ⁴⁶ These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

¹⁵ cursed be the man that makes any graven or molten image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and puts it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, "Amen. ¹⁶ Cursed be he that sets light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ¹⁷ Cursed be he that removes his neighbor's landmark. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ¹⁸ Cursed be he that makes the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ¹⁹ Cursed be he that perverts the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ²⁰ Cursed be he that lies with his father's wife; because he uncovers his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ²¹ Cursed be he that lies with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ²² Cursed be he that lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ²³ Cursed be he that lies with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ²⁴ Cursed be he that smites his neighbor secretly. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ²⁵ Cursed be he that takes reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, "Amen. ²⁶ Cursed be he that confirms not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, "Amen.

¹⁵ But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come on you, and overtake you: ¹⁶ Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field. ¹⁷ Cursed shall be your basket and your store. ¹⁸ Cursed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. ¹⁹ Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. ²⁰ The LORD shall send on you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand to for to do, until you be destroyed, and until you perish quickly; because of the wickedness of your doings, by which you have forsaken me. ²¹ The LORD shall make the pestilence stick to you, until he have consumed you from off the land, where you go to possess it. ²² The LORD shall smite you with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue you until you perish. ²³ And your heaven that is over your head shall be brass, and the earth that is under you shall be iron. ²⁴ The LORD shall make the rain of your land powder and dust: From heaven it shall come down upon you, until you are destroyed. ²⁵ The LORD shall cause you to be smitten before your enemies: You shall go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: And shall be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. ²⁶ And your carcass shall be meat to all fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away. ²⁷ The LORD will smite you with the botch of Egypt, and with the tumors, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof you cannot be healed. ²⁸ The LORD shall smite you with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: ²⁹ And you shall grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways: And you shall be only oppressed and spoiled ever more, and no man shall save you. ³⁰ You shall betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: You shall build a house, and you shall not dwell in it: You shall plant a vineyard, and shall not gather its grapes. ³¹ Your ox shall be slain before your eyes, and you shall not eat of it: Your donkey shall be violently taken away from before your face, and shall not be restored to you: Your sheep shall be given to your enemies, and you shall have none to rescue them. ³² Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in your hand. ³³ The fruit of your land, and all your labors, shall a nation which you know not eat up; and you shall be only oppressed and crushed always: ³⁴ So that you shall be mad for the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ³⁵ The LORD shall smite you in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the top of your head. ³⁶ The LORD shall bring you, and your king which you shall set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone. ³⁷ And you shall become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations where the LORD shall lead you. ³⁸ You shall carry much seed out into the field, and shall gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it. ³⁹ You shall plant vineyards, and dress them, but shall neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them. ⁴⁰ You shall have olive trees throughout all your coasts, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olive shall cast his fruit. ⁴¹ You shall beget sons and daughters, but you shall not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity. ⁴² All your trees and fruit of your land shall the locust consume. ⁴³ The stranger that is within you shall get up above you very high; and you shall come down very low. ⁴⁴ He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him: He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. ⁴⁵ Moreover all these curses shall come on you, and shall pursue you, and overtake you, till you be destroyed; because you did not hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which he commanded you: ⁴⁶ And they shall be upon you for a sign and for a wonder, and on your seed forever. ⁴⁷ Because you served not the LORD your God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; ⁴⁸ therefore you shall serve your enemies which the LORD shall send against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: And he shall put a yoke of iron on your neck, until he have destroyed you. ⁴⁹ The LORD shall bring a nation against you from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies; a nation whose tongue you shall not understand; ⁵⁰ A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young: ⁵¹ And he shall eat the fruit of your domestic beasts, and the fruit of your land, until you be destroyed: Which also shall not leave you either grain, wine, or oil, or the increase of your cows, or flocks of your sheep, until he have destroyed you. ⁵² And he shall besiege you in all your gates, until your high and fenced walls come down, in which you trusted, throughout all your land: And he shall besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land, which the LORD your God has given you. ⁵³ And you shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, which the LORD your God has given you, in the siege, and in the narrow place, with which your enemies shall distress you: ⁵⁴ So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave: ⁵⁵ So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: Because he has nothing left him in the siege, and in the narrow place, with which your enemies shall distress you in all your gates. ⁵⁶ The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter, ⁵⁷ and toward her young one that comes out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: For she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and narrow place, with which your enemy shall distress you in your gates. ⁵⁸ If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; ⁵⁹ then the LORD will make your plagues wonderful, and the plagues of your seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. ⁶⁰ Moreover he will bring on you all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they shall stick to you. ⁶¹ Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring on you, until you be destroyed. ⁶² And you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God. ⁶³ And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land where you go to possess it. ⁶⁴ And the LORD shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even to the other; and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known, even wood and stone. ⁶⁵ And among these nations shall you find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest: But the LORD shall give you there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: ⁶⁶ And your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you shall fear day and night, and shall have none assurance of your life: ⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say, "Would God it were even! And at sunset you shall say, "Would God it were morning! For the fear of your heart with which you shall fear, and for the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ⁶⁸ And the LORD shall bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spoke to you, You shall see it no more again: And there you shall be sold to your enemies for servants and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

²⁰ The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie on him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven. ²¹ And the LORD shall separate him to evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law: ²² So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, "when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD has laid on it; ²³ and that the whole land of it is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor bears, nor any grass grows in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath: ²⁴ Even all nations shall say, "Why has the LORD done thus to this land? What means the heat of this great anger? ²⁵ Then men shall say, "Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: ²⁶ For they went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given to them: ²⁷ And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book: ²⁸ And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day. ²⁹ The secret things belong to the LORD our God: But those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

¹⁷ But if your heart turns away, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; ¹⁸ I denounce to you this day, that you shall surely perish, and that you shall not prolong your days upon the land, where you pass over the Jordan to go to possess it. ¹⁹ I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: Therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live:

¹⁷ Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come on us, because our God is not among us? ¹⁸ And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have worked, in that they are turned to other gods.

¹⁹ And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. ²⁰ And he said, "I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: For they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. ²¹ They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: And I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. ²² For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. ²³ I will heap mischiefs on them; I will spend my arrows on them. ²⁴ They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts on them, with the poison of dragons, of the dust. ²⁵ The sword outside, and terror inside, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs. ²⁶ I said, "I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men: ²⁷ Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, "Our hand is high, and the LORD has not done all this. ²⁸ For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. ²⁹ O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! ³⁰ How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? ³¹ For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. ³² For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: Their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: ³³ Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. ³⁴ Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures? ³⁵ To me belongs vengeance and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: For the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. ³⁶ For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. ³⁷ And he shall say, "Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, ³⁸ which ate the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up and help you, and be your protection. ³⁹ See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: Neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. ⁴⁰ For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, "I live forever. ⁴¹ If I whet my glittering sword, and my hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my enemies, and will reward those that hate me. ⁴² I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges on the enemy.

¹⁸ Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: There was none left but the tribe of Judah only. ¹⁹ Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made. ²⁰ And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight. ²¹ For he tore Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: And Jeroboam drove Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin. ²² For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them; ²³ until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria to this day.

⁴ Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: They have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger, they have departed away backward. ⁵ Why should you be stricken any more? You will revolt more and more: The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. ⁶ From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrefying sores: They have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

⁵ Why then is this people of Jerusalem slid back by a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. ⁶ I listened and heard, but they did not speak aright: No man repented of his wickedness, saying, 'What have I done?' Everyone turned to his course, as the horse rushes into the battle. ⁷ Yes, the stork in heaven knows her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but My people do not know the judgment of the LORD. ⁸ How do you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us?' See, certainly in vain he made it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. ⁹ The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: Lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them? ¹⁰ Therefore I will give their wives to others, and their fields to those who shall inherit them: For everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely.

²⁶ egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all who are in the utmost corners, who dwell in the wilderness: For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart."

²⁶ Her priests have violated My law, and have profaned My holy things: They have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. ²⁷ Her princes in the middle of her are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. ²⁸ And her prophets have daubed them with untempered mortar, seeing vanity, and divining lies to them, saying, 'Thus says the Lord GOD', when the LORD has not spoken. ²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: Yes, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. ³⁰ And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: But I found none. ³¹ Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath: Their own way I have recompensed on their heads", said the Lord GOD.

⁹ Give therefore your servant an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and bad: For who is able to judge this your so great a people?

¹⁷ He leads counsellors away spoiled, and makes the judges fools.

¹⁰ Be wise now therefore, O you kings: Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

² How long will you judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. ³ Defend the poor and fatherless: Do justice to the afflicted and needy.

¹¹ Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:

¹⁶ By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

²⁶ that confirms the word of His servant, and performs the counsel of His messengers; that said to Jerusalem, "You shall be inhabited"; and to the cities of Judah, "You shall be built", and I will raise up the decayed places of it:

² "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; 'You have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah; and behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells in them, ³ because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke Me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they did not know, neither they, you, nor your fathers. ⁴ However, I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, "Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate." ⁵ But they did not listen, nor incline their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods. ⁶ Therefore My fury and My anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this day.'

¹² Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Behold, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is done to me, with which the LORD has afflicted me in the day of His fierce anger.

¹³ What thing shall I take to witness for you? What thing shall I liken to you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I equal to you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your breach is great like the sea: Who can heal you?

¹⁷ The LORD has done that which He had devised; He has fulfilled His word that He had commanded in the days of old: He has thrown down, and has not pitied: And He has caused your enemy to rejoice over you, He has set up the horn of your adversaries.

⁶ For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.

⁹ And I will do in you that which I have not done, and the like of which I will not do any more, because of all your abominations.

⁶ They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, 'The LORD said': And the LORD has not sent them: And they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.

² A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: A great people and a strong; there has not ever been the like, neither shall there be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

² "I have known only you of all the families of the earth: Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

⁶ But My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? And they returned and said, 'As the LORD of hosts thought to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, in this manner He has dealt with us.' "

⁸ "I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him there were red horses, speckled, and white."

¹⁸ For truly I say to you, Until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the law, until all is fulfilled.

²¹ For then shall be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

¹⁹ For in those days there shall be affliction, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor shall be again.

²² Because these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers:

⁴ Yet the LORD has not given you a heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.

¹³ But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: They cry not when he binds them.

⁴ Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your anger toward us to cease.

¹⁸ You open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.

²⁷ Make me to understand the way of Your precepts: So shall I talk of Your wondrous works.

⁷³ JOD: Your hands have made me and fashioned me: Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.

¹³ For the people do not turn to Him that smites them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.

⁹ Behold, the former things have come to pass, and I declare new things: Before they spring forth I tell you of them.

⁷ And there is none who calls on Your name, that stirs up himself to take hold of You: For You have hid Your face from us, and have consumed us, because of our iniquities.

³⁰ "In vain I have smitten your children; they received no correction: Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

³ O LORD, are not your eyes upon the truth? You have stricken them, but they have not grieved; You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: They have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself saying; 'You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull unaccustomed to the yoke: Turn me, and I shall be turned; for you are the LORD My God.

²⁷ Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: And all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.

¹⁵ All who pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, "Is this the city that men call 'The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth'?" ¹⁶ All your enemies have opened their mouth against you: They hiss and gnash the teeth: They say, "We have swallowed her up: Certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it." ¹⁷ The LORD has done that which He had devised; He has fulfilled His word that He had commanded in the days of old: He has thrown down, and has not pitied: And He has caused your enemy to rejoice over you, He has set up the horn of your adversaries.

²¹ Turn us to You, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

⁷ They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: There is none among them that calls to Me.

¹⁰ And the pride of Israel testifies to his face: And they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek Him on account of all this.

¹⁴ And they have not cried out to Me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: They assemble themselves for grain and wine, and they rebel against Me.

⁴⁵ Then He opened their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught of God.' Every man therefore that has heard, and has learned of the Father, comes to Me.

³² and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

³⁵ If He called them gods, to whom the Word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: ¹⁸ The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

²¹ if it is thus that you have heard Him, and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all people liberally, and without suffering reproach; and it shall be given to him.

²⁸ And it shall come to pass, that as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so I will watch over them, to build, and to plant", said the LORD."

¹ Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh: For with a strong hand he shall let them go, and with a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land."

⁶ Therefore say to the children of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments:

¹⁶ And in fact for this very cause I have raised you up, through you to show My power; and that My name may be declared throughout all the earth.

¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ² "Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baalzephon: You shall encamp before it by the sea. ³ For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, 'They are entangled in the land, the wilderness has shut them in.' ⁴ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honored upon Pharaoh, and upon all his army; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD." And they did so. ⁵ And the king of Egypt was told that the people fled: And the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, "Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?" ⁶ And he made his chariot ready, and took his people with him: ⁷ And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them. ⁸ And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: And the children of Israel went out with a high hand. ⁹ But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon. ¹⁰ And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were severely afraid: And the children of Israel cried out to the LORD. ¹¹ And they said to Moses, "Have you taken us away to die in the wilderness because there were no graves in Egypt? Why have you dealt in this peculiar way with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? ¹² Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, 'Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians?' For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness." ¹³ And Moses said to the people, "Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will show to you today: For the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall not see them again anymore forever. ¹⁴ The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." ¹⁵ And the LORD said to Moses, "Why do you cry out to Me? Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward:

¹⁸ And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten Myself honor upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen."

¹¹ And Moses entreated the LORD his God, and said, "LORD, why does Your wrath wax hot against Your people, which You have brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?the LORD: In Hebrew, the face of the LORD

⁵¹ For they be your people, and your inheritance, which you brought forth out of Egypt, from the middle of the furnace of iron:

¹⁰ Now these are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your great power, and by your strong hand.

¹⁰ and showed signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: For you knew that they dealt proudly against them. So did you get you a name, as it is this day.

⁸ Nevertheless He saved them for His name's sake, that He might make His mighty power to be known.

¹³ Instead of the thorn the fir tree shall come up, and instead of the brier the myrtle tree shall come up: And it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off."

¹⁰ And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

²⁰ Who has set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even to this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and have made Yourself a name, as it is this day; ²¹ and have brought forth Your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an out stretched arm, and with great terror; ²² and have given them this land, which You swore to their fathers to give them, "a land flowing with milk and honey"; ²³ and they came in, and possessed it; but they did not obey Your voice, neither walked in Your law; they have done nothing of all that you commanded them to do: Therefore you have caused all this evil to come on them:

¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you, ¹⁹ and am no longer worthy to be called your son: Make me as one of your hired servants." '

²¹ And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.'

¹³ And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes to heaven, but smote his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner.'

¹⁰ Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver: In whom we trust that He will yet deliver us;

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them: For I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those that hate Me;

³⁹ And those that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. ⁴⁰ If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary to me;

⁷ The LORD makes poor, and makes rich: He brings low, and lifts up.

⁷ Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people: ⁸ And at this house, which is high, everyone that passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, "Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house? ⁹ And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold on other gods, and have worshiped them, and served them: Therefore has the LORD brought on them all this evil.

⁸ and found his heart faithful before you, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, "to his seed, and have performed your words; for you are righteous:

² Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape: Incline Your ear to me, and save me.

⁴ We are become a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to those that are all around us.

⁶ We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. ⁷ Our fathers did not understand Your wonders in Egypt; they did not remember the multitude of Your mercies; but provoked Him at the sea, even at the Red Sea. ⁸ Nevertheless He saved them for His name's sake, that He might make His mighty power to be known. ⁹ He also rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up: So He led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. ¹⁰ And He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. ¹¹ And the waters covered their enemies: There was not one of them left. ¹² Then they believed His words; they sang His praise. ¹³ They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel: ¹⁴ But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. ¹⁵ And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul. ¹⁶ They also envied Moses in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD. ¹⁷ The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. ¹⁸ And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. ¹⁹ They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped the molten image. ²⁰ Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eats grass. ²¹ They forgot God their Savior, which had done great things in Egypt; ²² wondrous works in the land of Ham, and frightful things by the Red Sea. ²³ Therefore He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses His chosen stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, lest He should destroy them. ²⁴ Yes, they despised the pleasant land, they did not believe His word: ²⁵ But murmured in their tents, and did not hearken to the voice of the LORD. ²⁶ Therefore He lifted up His hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness: ²⁷ To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands. ²⁸ They also joined themselves to Baal-Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead, ²⁹ thus they provoked Him to anger with their inventions: And the plague broke out upon them. ³⁰ Then Phinehas stood up, and executed judgment: And so the plague was halted. ³¹ And that was counted to him for righteousness to all generations forevermore. ³² They also angered Him at the waters of strife, so that it went badly with Moses for their sakes: ³³ Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips. ³⁴ They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them: ³⁵ But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. ³⁶ And they served their idols; which were a snare to them. ³⁷ Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils, ³⁸ and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan: And the land was polluted with blood. ³⁹ Thus they were defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. ⁴⁰ Therefore the wrath of the LORD was kindled against His people, so that He abhorred His own inheritance. ⁴¹ And He gave them into the hand of the heathen; and those who hated them ruled over them. ⁴² Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand. ⁴³ Many times He delivered them; but they provoked Him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. ⁴⁴ Nevertheless, He regarded their affliction, when He heard their cry: ⁴⁵ And He remembered His covenant for them, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies. ⁴⁶ He made them also to be pitied by all those who carried them captives. ⁴⁷ Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks to Your holy name, and to triumph in Your praise. ⁴⁸ Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: And let all the people say, "Amen." Praise the LORD.

¹ A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: In Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness.

⁹ Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity forever: Behold, see, we beseech You, we all are Your people. ¹⁰ Your holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. ¹¹ Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised You, is burned up with fire: And all our pleasant things are laid waste.

¹⁸ And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations where I have driven them:

³² because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke Me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

⁸ Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: All who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: Yes, she sighs, and turns backward. ⁹ Her filthiness is in her skirts; she does not remember her final end; therefore she came down wonderfully: She had no comforter. "O LORD, behold my affliction: For the enemy has magnified himself."

¹⁵ All who pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, "Is this the city that men call 'The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth'?" ¹⁶ All your enemies have opened their mouth against you: They hiss and gnash the teeth: They say, "We have swallowed her up: Certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it."

¹⁴ Moreover I will make you waste, and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

²⁰ And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;

¹⁷ "So shall you know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain: Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no strangers shall pass through her any more.

⁴ For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of servants; and I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam before you. ⁵ O My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal; that all of you may know the righteousness of the LORD."

³ Thus says the LORD; 'I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: And Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.'

³¹ Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves, that you are the children of those who killed the prophets. ³² Fill up then the measure of your fathers.

⁴⁷ Woe to you! For you build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. ⁴⁸ Truly you bear witness that you allow the deeds of your fathers: For they indeed killed them, and you build their sepulchers. ⁴⁹ Therefore the wisdom of God also said, 'I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute': ⁵⁰ That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zacharias, who perished between the altar and the temple: Truly I say to you, It shall be required of this generation.

⁶ Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to those that trouble you;

⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

²³ speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, "On this wise you shall bless the children of Israel, saying to them, ²⁴ the LORD bless you, and keep you: ²⁵ The LORD make his face shine on you, and be gracious to you: ²⁶ The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace." '

⁶ There are many that say, "Who will show us any good?" LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: For the glory of God illuminates it, and the Lamb is the light of it.

⁷ And the LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

²⁹ That your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, "My name shall be there: That you may listen to the prayer which your servant shall make toward this place.

¹⁶ LORD, bow down your ear, and hear: Open, LORD, your eyes, and see: And hear the words of Sennacherib, which has sent him to reproach the living God.

⁶ I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God: Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. ⁷ Show Your marvelous lovingkindness, O You that saves by Your right hand those which put their trust in You from those that rise up against them.

¹⁴ Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; ¹⁵ and the vineyard which Your right hand has planted, and the branch that You make strong for Yourself. ¹⁶ It is burned with fire, it is cut down: They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance. ¹⁷ Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, upon the Son of man Whom You have made strong for Yourself. ¹⁸ So we will not turn back from You: Vivify us, and we will call upon Your name. ¹⁹ Turn us around again, O LORD God of Hosts, cause Your face to shine; and we shall be saved.

¹⁷ Incline your ear, O LORD, and hear; open your eyes, O LORD, and see: And hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.

¹⁵ Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of Your holiness and of Your glory: Where is Your zeal and Your strength, the sounding of Your bowels and of Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained? ¹⁶ Doubtless You are our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel does not acknowledge us: You, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer; Your name is from everlasting. ¹⁷ O LORD, why have You made us to err from Your ways, and hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servants' sake, the tribes of Your inheritance. ¹⁸ The people of Your holiness have possessed it but a little while: Our adversaries have trodden down Your sanctuary. ¹⁹ We are Yours: You never bore rule over them; they were not called by Your name.

⁶ But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

¹² Will You refrain Yourself for these things, O LORD? Will You hold Your peace, and afflict us very sore?

¹⁰ and come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My name, and say, 'We are delivered to do all these abominations?' ¹¹ Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it", said the LORD. ¹² "But all of you go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of My people Israel.

⁹ Why should You be like an astonished man, like a mighty man that cannot save? Yet You, O LORD, are in the midst of us, and we are called by Your name; do not leave us.

¹⁶ Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.

²⁹ For lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished: For I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth", said the LORD of hosts.'

⁷ It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return everyone from his evil way: For great is the anger and the fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people."

²⁰ Therefore hear now, I implore you, O my lord the king: Let my supplication, I implore you, be accepted before you; that you do not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.

³² I do not do this for your sakes", said the Lord GOD, "be it known to you: Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel."

² To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

¹⁹ Pardon, I beseech you, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your mercy, and as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

³⁰ And listen you to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: And hear you in heaven your dwelling place: And when you hear, forgive. ³¹ If any man trespass against his neighbor, and an oath be laid on him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before your altar in this house: ³² Then hear you in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way on his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness. ³³ When your people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you, and shall turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray, and make supplication to you in this house: ³⁴ Then hear you in heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to their fathers. ³⁵ When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them: ³⁶ Then hear you in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, that you teach them the good way in which they should walk, and give rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance. ³⁷ If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there be; ³⁸ what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house: ³⁹ Then hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men);

²¹ Listen therefore to the supplications of your servant, and of your people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: Hear you from your dwelling place, even from heaven; and when you hear, forgive.

²⁵ then hear you from heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to them and to their fathers. ²⁶ When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you do afflict them; ²⁷ then hear you from heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, when you have taught them the good way, in which they should walk; and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance. ²⁸ If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillars; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatever sore or whatever sickness there be: ²⁹ Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all your people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house: ³⁰ Then hear you from heaven your dwelling place, and forgive, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know; (for you only know are the hearts of the children of men before Him):

³⁹ Then hear you from heaven, even from your dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive your people which have sinned against you.

²³ Awake, why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise, do not cast us off forever. ²⁴ Why do You hide Your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression? ²⁵ For our soul is bowed down to the dust: Our belly sticks to the earth. ²⁶ Arise for our help, and redeem us for Your mercies' sake.

⁹ We do not see our signs: There is no longer any prophet: Neither is there among us anyone who knows how long. ¹⁰ O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme Your name forever? ¹¹ Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Pluck it out of Your bosom.

⁵ How long, LORD? Will you be angry forever? Shall your jealousy burn like fire? ⁶ Pour out your wrath upon the heathen who have not known You, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon Your name.

⁸ O do not recount our former iniquities against us: Let your tender mercies speedily go before us: For we are brought very low. ⁹ Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name: And deliver us, and purge away our sins, for your name's sake. ¹⁰ Why should the heathen say, "Where is their God? Let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of your servants which is shed.

⁵ Will You be angry with us forever? Will You draw out Your anger to all generations? ⁶ Will You not revive us again: That Your people may rejoice in You?

¹³ You shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion: For the time to favor her, yes, the set time has come, ¹⁴ for Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor her dust. ¹⁵ So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. ¹⁶ When the LORD shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory.

¹ Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name give glory, for Your mercy, and for Your truth's sake. ² Why should the heathen say, "Where now is their God?"

⁹ Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity forever: Behold, see, we beseech You, we all are Your people. ¹⁰ Your holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. ¹¹ Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised You, is burned up with fire: And all our pleasant things are laid waste. ¹² Will You refrain Yourself for these things, O LORD? Will You hold Your peace, and afflict us very sore?

²⁰ We acknowledge our wickedness, O LORD, and the iniquity of our fathers: For we have sinned against You. ²¹ Do not abhor us, for Your name's sake, do not disgrace the throne of Your glory: Remember, do not break Your covenant with us.

⁹ But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made Myself known to them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁴ But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.

²² Nevertheless I withdrew My hand, and worked for My name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.

²² Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "I do not do this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for My holy name's sake, which you have profaned among the heathen, where you went.

²⁵ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Now I will bring back again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for My holy name;

¹⁸ O my God, incline Your ear, and hear; open Your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name: For we do not present our supplications before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies.

² And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, "O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech You: By whom shall Jacob arise? For he is small."

⁸ I say to you, Though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his pressing requests he will rise and give him as much as he needs.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.

¹² That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ.

¹⁰ To the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be known through the church to the principalities and powers in heavenly places,

⁵ If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. ⁶ If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.

¹⁸ The LORD is near to all those that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.

²⁰ For there is not a just man on earth, that does good, and does not sin.

⁵ Then I said, "Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."

⁷ even those I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer: Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on my altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people."

⁹ Then you shall call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, 'Here I am.' If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

⁶ I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem, they shall never hold their peace day nor night: You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, ⁷ and give Him no rest, until he establishes, and until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

³ And I set my face toward the LORD God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: ⁴ And I prayed to the LORD my God and made my confession, and said, "O LORD, the great and frightful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to those who love Him, and to those who keep His commandments;

¹⁶ O Lord, I beseech You, according to all Your righteousness, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain: Because of our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those that are around us.

² In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks.

³¹ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.

³⁰ And Cornelius said, "Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, ³¹ and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your charitable alms are in remembrance in the sight of God.

²³ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

² For in many things we offend everyone. If any man does not offend in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

² And I, John, saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

³⁹ The one lamb you shall offer in the morning; and the other lamb you shall offer at sunset:

³⁶ And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, "LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.

⁴ Then were assembled to me everyone that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice. ⁵ And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands to the LORD my God,

²⁰ Bless the LORD, you His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word.

⁴ Who makes His angels spirits; His ministers a flaming fire:

² Above it stood the seraphim: Each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

⁶ Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: ⁷ And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, "See, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged."

¹¹ Thus were their faces: And their wings were stretched upward; two wings of each one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.

¹⁴ And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

¹⁶ And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, "Gabriel, make this man understand the vision."

¹⁸ Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: But he touched me, and set me upright.

¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

¹⁶ And behold, one resembling the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips: Then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me, "O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

¹⁸ Then one like the appearance of a man came again and touched me, and he strengthened me,

⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" That is to say, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"

¹⁹ And the angel answering said to him, "I am Gabriel, that stands in the presence of God; and am sent to speak to you, and to show you these glad tidings.

¹ Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

³ About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming in to him, and saying to him, "Cornelius."

⁹ On the next day, as they went on their journey, and drew near to the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

⁷ And behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shone in the prison: And he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, "Arise up quickly." And his chains fell off from his hands.

⁷ And of the angels He says, "Who makes His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire."

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation?

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince, shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: The street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. ²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

²¹ But I will show you that which is noted in the Scripture of Truth: And there is none that holds fast with me in these things, except Michael your prince."

⁹ Then I said, "O my lord, what are these?" And the angel that talked with me said to me, "I will show you what these are."

¹⁴ So the angel that communed with me said to me, "Cry out, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

⁴ Then I answered and said to the angel that talked with me, "What are these, my lord?" ⁵ And the angel answered and said to me, "These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

¹ After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven: And the first voice which I heard was as if a trumpet was talking with me; which said, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must be in time to come."

¹⁰ I am my beloved's, and his desire is towards me.

¹⁶ "Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: Yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

¹² And they shall make a spoil of your riches, and make a prey of your merchandise: And they shall break down your walls, and destroy your pleasant houses: And they shall lay your stones and your timber and your dust in the midst of the water.

¹¹ And he said to me, "O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright: For to you I am now sent." And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling. ¹² Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel: For from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to chasten yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words.

¹⁹ and said, "O man greatly beloved, do not fear: Peace be to you, be strong, yes, be strong." And when he had spoken to me, I was strengthened, and said, "Let my lord speak; for you have strengthened me."

²⁸ And the angel came in to her, and said, "Be glad, you who are highly favored, the Lord is with you: Blessed are you among women."

¹⁵ And he slew it; and Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar all around with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make reconciliation on it.

⁸ And you shall number seven Sabbaths of years to you, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be to you forty and nine years.

³⁴ After the number of the days in which you searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall you bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you shall know my breach of promise.

²⁴ And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood on the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: For the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

⁶ "Yet I have set My king upon My holy hill of Zion."

⁷ You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.

⁶ Lift up your eyes to heaven, and look upon the earth beneath: For heaven shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they who dwell in it shall die in like manner: But My salvation shall be forever, and My righteousness shall not be abolished.

⁸ For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: But My righteousness shall be forever, and My salvation from generation to generation.

¹⁰ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief: When you shall make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. ¹¹ He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: By His knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

¹ Thus says the LORD, "All of you keep judgment, and do justice: For My salvation is soon to come, and My righteousness to be revealed.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

⁵ "Behold, the days come", said the LORD, "that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. ⁶ In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: And this is His name by which he shall be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

²² The punishment of your iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; He will no longer carry you away into captivity:Hhe will visit your iniquity, O daughter of Edom; He will discover your sins.

⁶ And when you have accomplished them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed you each day for a year.

¹² "Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "You seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS: For He shall save His people from their sins."

¹³ For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

²⁴ saying, "Let us alone; what have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are, the Holy One of God."

³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: Therefore that Holy One which shall be born of you shall also be called the Son of God.

¹⁸ "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised, ¹⁹ to preach the acceptable year of the LORD." ²⁰ Then He closed the book, and He gave it back to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all of those who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. ²¹ And He began to say to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your ears."

²⁵ Then He said to them, "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: ²⁶ Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory?" ²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.

⁴⁴ And He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me." ⁴⁵ Then He opened their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah", which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

³⁴ For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God: For God does not give the Spirit by limited measure to Him.

²⁸ After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst." ²⁹ Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there: And they filled a sponge with vinegar, put it upon hyssop, and put it to His mouth. ³⁰ When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, "It is finished": Then He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted to you;

²² For Moses truly said to the fathers, 'The LORD your God shall raise up to you a Prophet similar to me from your brethren; you shall hear Him in all things, whatever He shall say to you.

²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the prophets; ²² even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and upon all those who believe: For there is no difference:

¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

³⁰ But by reason of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who of God is made to us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

¹⁸ Now all things are from God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹ Know that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God implored you through us: We make request of you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. ²¹ For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

⁹ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

²⁰ and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things to Himself; by Him, I say, whether they are things on earth, or things in heaven.

¹⁴ blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;

⁸ But to the Son He says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. ⁹ You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows."

¹⁷ Therefore, in all things it behoved him to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

²⁶ For such a High Priest suited us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

¹¹ But Christ became a High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; ¹² neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. ¹³ For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh: ¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

²⁶ for then he must have often suffered since the foundation of the world: But now once in the end of the world He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

¹⁴ For by one offering He has perfected forever those that are sanctified.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:

⁸ He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

⁷ "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; 'These things says He that is holy, He that is true, "He that has the key of David, He that opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens";

⁶ Then I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people,

²⁵ And the king said to Zadok, "Carry back the ark of God into the city: If I shall find favor in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation:

²⁴ Then ceased the work of the house of God which is at Jerusalem. So it ceased to the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

¹ Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon. ² And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and in it was a record thus written: ³ In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be built, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let its foundations be strongly laid; its height three score cubits, and its breadth three score cubits; ⁴ with three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: And let the expenses be given out of the king's house: ⁵ And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought to Babylon, be restored, and brought again to the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God. ⁶ Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond the river, be you far from there: ⁷ Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place. ⁸ Moreover I make a decree what you shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: That of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, immediately expenses be given to these men, that they be not hindered. ⁹ And that which they have need of, both young bulls, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail: ¹⁰ That they may offer sacrifices of sweet smells to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons. ¹¹ Also I have made a decree, that whoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged on it; and let his house be made a dunghill for this. ¹² And the God that has caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed. ¹³ Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily. ¹⁴ And the elders of the Jews built, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they built, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. ¹⁵ And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

¹ Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,

⁸ And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

¹¹ Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel. ¹² Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time. ¹³ I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with you. ¹⁴ For as much as you are sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of your God which is in your hand; ¹⁵ and to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem, ¹⁶ and all the silver and gold that you can find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem: ¹⁷ That you may buy speedily with this money bulls, rams, lambs, with their food offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them on the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem. ¹⁸ And whatever shall seem good to you, and to your brothers, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God. ¹⁹ The vessels also that are given you for the service of the house of your God, those deliver you before the God of Jerusalem. ²⁰ And whatever more shall be needful for the house of your God, which you shall have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house. ²¹ And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily, ²² to a hundred talents of silver, and to a hundred measures of wheat, and to a hundred baths of wine, and to a hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much. ²³ Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: For why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons? ²⁴ Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, on them. ²⁵ And you, Ezra, after the wisdom of your God, that is in your hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of your God; and teach you those that know them not. ²⁶ And whoever will not do the law of your God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily on him, whether it be to death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.

¹ And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: And I took up the wine, and gave it to the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence. ² Why the king said to me, Why is your countenance sad, seeing you are not sick? This is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very severely afraid, ³ and said to the king, Let the king live forever: Why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchers, lies waste, and its gates are consumed with fire? ⁴ Then the king said to me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. ⁵ And I said to the king, If it please the king, and if your servant have found favor in your sight, that you would send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' sepulchers, that I may build it. ⁶ And the king said to me, (the queen also sitting by him), For how long shall your journey be? And when will you return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. ⁷ Moreover I said to the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah; ⁸ and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God on me.

¹ Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brothers the priests, and they built the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even to the tower of Meah they sanctified it, to the tower of Hananeel.

⁸ and conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.

¹⁶ And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants worked in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the coat of armors; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah. ¹⁷ They which built on the wall, and those that bore burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands worked in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. ¹⁸ For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so built. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.

¹⁵ So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

¹⁰ For my enemies speak against me; and those that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,

⁶ For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given: And the government shall be upon His shoulder: And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

⁴ Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

¹¹ Yes, he magnified himself even to the Prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down.

²⁵ And through his policy he shall also cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: He shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment came forth, and I have come to show you; for you are greatly beloved: Therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

² "But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you He shall come forth to Me that is to be Ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

²³ But he that received seed into the good ground is he that hears the word, and understands it; which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

²⁵ The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming, which is called Christ: When He comes, He will tell us all things."

¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses.

³¹ God has exalted Him with His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

³⁰ And Philip ran over to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you read?"

¹⁶ redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful Witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

¹⁶ And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a broken clay pot fragment; and My tongue sticks to My jaws; and you have brought Me into the dust of death.

⁷ now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up on them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: And he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

⁸ He was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of My people was He stricken.

⁷ Who is this who comes up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?

²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

¹⁰ But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: And one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: Then he shall return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.

¹⁷ He also shall set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus he shall do: And he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: But she shall not stand on his side, nor be for him.

⁹ Then God said, "Call his name Loammi: For you are not My people, and I will not be your God.

⁸ Shall the land not tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwells in it? And it shall wholly rise up as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

⁵ And the Lord GOD of hosts is He that touches the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell in it shall mourn: And it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

⁸ But with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end of that place, and darkness shall pursue His enemies.

² "The kingdom of heaven is likened to a certain king who made a marriage for his son,

⁷ But when the king heard about it, he was wroth: And he sent forth his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

² And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

⁶ And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: See that you are not troubled: For all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. ⁷ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And there shall be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. ⁸ All these are the beginning of sorrows. ⁹ Then they shall deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: And you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake. ¹⁰ And then many shall be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. ¹¹ Then many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. ¹² And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. ¹³ But he who endures to the end, the same shall be saved. ¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end shall come.

¹² And He answered and told them, "Elijah truly comes first, and restores all things; and how it is written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things, and be disregarded as nothing.

² And Jesus answering said to him, "Do you see these great buildings? There shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

⁷ And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled: For such things must come to pass; but the end shall not be yet.

⁴³ For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a trench around you, surround you, and keep you in on every side, ⁴⁴ and shall level you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."

⁶ "As for these things which you behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: And Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

²⁶ Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory?"

⁴⁶ and He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

⁵¹ Now this he did not speak of himself: But being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; ⁵² and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.

³² And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Me." ³³ This He said, signifying what death He should die. ³⁴ The people answered Him, "We have heard out of the law that Christ abides forever: Therefore how come You say, 'The Son of Man must be lifted up'? Who is this Son of Man?"

³⁰ After this I will not talk much with you: For the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in Me.

¹³ and set up false witnesses, which said, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: ¹⁴ For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered to us."

²¹ For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

¹³ Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: For it is written, "Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree":

²¹ For even to this you were called: Because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

²⁴ Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live on to righteousness: By whose stripes you were healed.

¹⁸ For Christ also has suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit:

²⁶ I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereto you go over the Jordan to possess it; you shall not prolong your days on it, but shall utterly be destroyed. ²⁷ And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the heathen, where the LORD shall lead you. ²⁸ And there you shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

¹⁸ Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that bears gall and wormwood; ¹⁹ and it come to pass, when he hears the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, "I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:

¹⁷ But if your heart turns away, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; ¹⁸ I denounce to you this day, that you shall surely perish, and that you shall not prolong your days upon the land, where you pass over the Jordan to go to possess it.

²⁸ Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. ²⁹ For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

¹⁹ And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. ²⁰ And he said, "I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: For they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. ²¹ They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: And I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. ²² For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. ²³ I will heap mischiefs on them; I will spend my arrows on them. ²⁴ They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts on them, with the poison of dragons, of the dust. ²⁵ The sword outside, and terror inside, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs. ²⁶ I said, "I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men: ²⁷ Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, "Our hand is high, and the LORD has not done all this. ²⁸ For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. ²⁹ O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! ³⁰ How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? ³¹ For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. ³² For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: Their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: ³³ Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. ³⁴ Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures? ³⁵ To me belongs vengeance and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: For the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. ³⁶ For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. ³⁷ And he shall say, "Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, ³⁸ which ate the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up and help you, and be your protection. ³⁹ See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: Neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. ⁴⁰ For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, "I live forever. ⁴¹ If I whet my glittering sword, and my hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my enemies, and will reward those that hate me. ⁴² I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges on the enemy. ⁴³ Rejoice, O you nations, with his people: For he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful to his land, and to his people. ⁴⁴ And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

²² Let their table become a snare before them: And that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, that they do not see; and make their loins continually to shake. ²⁴ Pour out Your indignation upon them, and let Your wrathful anger take hold of them. ²⁵ Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents. ²⁶ For they persecute him whom You have smitten; and they speak to the grief of those whom You have wounded. ²⁷ Add iniquity to their iniquity: And do not let them come into Your righteousness. ²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

²² For though your people Israel are as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: The decreed destruction shall overflow with righteousness. ²³ For the Lord GOD of hosts shall even make a determined consumption in the midst of all the land.

²² Now therefore you shall not be mockers, lest your bands be made strong: For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined on the whole earth.

⁶ I the LORD have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand, and will keep You, and give You as a covenant to the people, for a light to the Gentiles;

¹¹ He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: By His knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

³ Incline your ear, and come to Me: Hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

³¹ "Behold, the days come", said the LORD, "that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: ³² Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them", said the LORD: ³³ "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days", said the LORD, "I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people. ³⁴ And they shall no more teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD': For they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them", said the LORD: "for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

⁴⁰ And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me. ⁴¹ Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul.' ⁴² For thus says the LORD; 'Like I have brought all this great evil on this people, so I will bring on them all the good that I have promised them.

⁶⁰ Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish to you an everlasting covenant. ⁶¹ Then you shall remember your ways, and be ashamed, when you shall receive your sisters, your elder and your younger: And I will give them to you for daughters, but not by your covenant. ⁶² And I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall know that I am the LORD: ⁶³ That you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more because of your shame, when I am pacified toward you for all that you have done", said the Lord GOD.' "

¹³ Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said to that certain saint which spoke, "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?"

³⁶ And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper until the indignation is accomplished: For that which is determined shall be done.

¹¹ And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

²⁸ for this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

⁵¹ Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks fissured open;

²⁰ Moreover when you see Jerusalem compassed around with armies, then know that its desolation is near.

¹⁵ But the free gift is not also as the offense. For if through the offense of one many are dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one Man, Jesus Christ, has abounded to many.

¹⁹ For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One many shall be made righteous.

²⁶ And so all Israel shall be saved: As it is written, "There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: ⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name."

¹³ Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: For it is written, "Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree": ¹⁴ That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. ¹⁵ Brethren, I speak in the manner of men; though it is nevertheless a man's covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no man annuls it, nor adds to it. ¹⁶ Now the promises were made to Abraham and his seed. He does not say, "And to seeds", as of many; but as of one, "And to your seed", which is Christ. ¹⁷ And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before God in Christ, cannot be annulled by the law, which came four hundred and thirty years afterwards, that it should make the promise of no effect.

¹³ For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by none greater, He swore by Himself, ¹⁴ saying, "Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you." ¹⁵ And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. ¹⁶ For men truly swear by the greater: And an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. ¹⁷ In which God, more abundantly willing to show the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath: ¹⁸ That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

⁸ For finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: ⁹ Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I did not regard them, says the Lord." ¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: And I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people: ¹¹ And every man shall not teach his neighbor, nor every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord': For all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest. ¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and iniquities I will remember no more." ¹³ In that He says, "A new covenant", He has made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away.

¹⁵ And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, those who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. ¹⁶ For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. ¹⁷ For a testament is in force after men are dead: Otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator lives. ¹⁸ Whereby neither was the first testament dedicated without blood. ¹⁹ For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, ²⁰ saying, "This is the blood of the testament which God has enjoined to you."

²⁸ So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to those that look for Him He shall appear the second time without sin to salvation.

⁴ For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. ⁵ Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, "You would not like sacrifice and offering, but You have prepared Me a body: ⁶ In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. ⁷ Then I said, 'Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God.' " ⁸ When He said above, "You would not like sacrifice, offering, burnt offerings, nor offerings for sin, neither had pleasure in them"; which are offered according to the law; ⁹ then He said, "Behold, I come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first, that He may establish the second. ¹⁰ By that will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest stands ministering daily and offering frequently the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: ¹² But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God; ¹³ from then on expecting till His enemies are made His footstool. ¹⁴ For by one offering He has perfected forever those that are sanctified. ¹⁵ Of which the Holy Spirit is also a witness to us: For after that He said foretelling beforehand, ¹⁶ "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them"; ¹⁷ "and their sins and iniquities I will remember no more." ¹⁸ Now where there is remission of these, there is no more offering for sin. ¹⁹ Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and living way, which He has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh; ²¹ and having a High Priest over the house of God; ²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, that brought forth again our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, ²¹ make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever.
