¹³ certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, "Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known;

¹⁹ And lest you lift up your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, should be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD your God has divided to all nations under the whole heaven.

² and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke to you, saying, "Let us go after other gods, which you have not known, and let us serve them;

⁶ If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend, which is as your own soul, entice you secretly, saying, "Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;

²² Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house all around, and beat at the door, and spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring forth the man that came into your house, that we may know him.

¹³ Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brothers the children of Israel.

¹² Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they did not know the LORD.

²⁷ But the children of Belial said, "How shall this man save us?" And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.

¹⁷ Now therefore know and consider what you will do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: For he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him."

²⁵ Let not my lord, I implore you, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: For as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: But I, your handmaid, did not see the young men of my lord, whom you sent.

⁷ And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, you bloody man, and you man of Belial:

²¹ For he tore Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: And Jeroboam drove Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.

⁷ And there are gathered to him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: For he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹⁵ And what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what part has he that believes with an infidel?

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: But they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: Whoever does not perform righteousness is not of God, neither is he that does not love his brother.

¹⁹ These are those who separate themselves, sensual, not having the Spirit.
