⁴ and it be told you, and you have heard of it, and inquired diligently, and behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is worked in Israel:

¹² If you shall hear say in one of your cities, which the LORD your God has given you to dwell there, saying, ¹³ certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, "Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known; ¹⁴ then you shall inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is worked among you;

¹⁸ and the judges shall make diligent inquisition: And behold, if the witness be a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother;

² It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: But the honor of kings is to search out a matter.
