¹¹ And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the LORD gave me the two tablets of stone, even the tablets of the covenant.

³³ And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days' journey: And the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them.

⁹ When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tablets of stone, even the tablets of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I stayed in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither ate bread nor drink water:

⁶ But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by which He also is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. ⁷ For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place should have been sought for the second. ⁸ For finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: ⁹ Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I did not regard them, says the Lord." ¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: And I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:

⁴ which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on every side with gold, within which was the golden pot that had manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;
