¹⁶ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil; ¹⁷ learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. ¹⁸ "Come now, and let us reason together", said the LORD: "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ¹⁹ If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land: ²⁰ But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword: For the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.

⁶ All of you seek the LORD while He may be found, call on Him while He is near: ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

²¹ Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous do not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also you have delivered your soul."

⁵ But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,

⁹ has walked in My statutes, and has kept My judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live", said the Lord GOD.

¹⁷ who has taken off his hand from the poor, that has not received usury nor increase, has executed my judgments, has walked in My statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.

¹⁹ Yet you say, "Why? Does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done that which is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes, and has done them, he shall surely live.

²⁷ Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. ²⁸ Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

³⁰ Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, everyone according to his ways", said the Lord GOD. "Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

¹¹ Say to them, 'As I live', said the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: Turn yourself, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel?' ¹² Therefore, you son of man, say to the children of your people, 'The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: As for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall because of it in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sins.' ¹³ When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trusts in his own righteousness, and commits iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it. ¹⁴ Again, when I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die'; if he turns from his sin, and does that which is lawful and right; ¹⁵ if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he had robbed, walks in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. ¹⁶ None of his sins that he has committed shall be mentioned to him: He has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

¹⁹ But if the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does that which is lawful and right, for that he shall live.

²⁷ And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments, and do them.

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

⁴⁷ And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

¹⁹ Therefore repent, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord shall come;

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith that is in Me.' ¹⁹ "Given wholly to this, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision: ²⁰ But brought word first to those of Damascus, and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works worthy for repentance.

¹³ For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: But if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, temperance: Against such there is no law. ²⁴ And those that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

¹³ who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an injurious man: But I obtained mercy, because I did those things ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ Nevertheless, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who should hereafter believe upon Him to life everlasting.

¹¹ For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, ¹² teaching us that through denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; ¹³ looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; ¹⁴ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

¹⁴ What does it profit, my brethren, though a man says he has faith, and does not have works? Can faith save him?

²⁶ For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. ⁹ Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. ¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.
