Ezekiel 5 Cross References - TKJU

1 "And you, son of man, take a sharp knife, take a barber's razor, and cause it to pass on your head and on your beard: Then take balances to weigh and divide the hair. 2 You shall burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: And you shall take a third part, and smite around it with a knife: And a third part you shall scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them. 3 You shall also take a few of them in number, and bind them in your skirts. 4 Then take of them again, and cast them into the middle of the fire, and burn them in the fire; from which a fire shall come forth into all the house of Israel. 5 Thus says the Lord GOD; 'This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are around her. 6 And she has changed My judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and My statutes more than the countries that are around her: For they have refused My judgments and My statutes, they have not walked in them.' 7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Because you multiplied more than the nations that are around you, and have not walked in My statutes, neither have kept My judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are around you;' 8 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, I, even I, am against you, and will execute judgments in the midst of you in the sight of the nations. 9 And I will do in you that which I have not done, and the like of which I will not do any more, because of all your abominations. 10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of you, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in you, and I will scatter the whole remnant of you into all the winds. 11 Therefore, as I live', said the Lord GOD; 'Surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you; neither shall My eye spare, neither will I have any pity. 12 A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and they shall be consumed with famine in the midst of you: And a third part shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. 13 Thus shall My anger be accomplished, and I will cause My fury to rest on them, and I will be comforted: And they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in My zeal, when I have accomplished My fury in them. 14 Moreover I will make you waste, and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all who pass by. 15 So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment to the nations that are around you, when I shall execute judgments in you in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it. 16 When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: And I will increase the famine on you, and will break your staff of bread: 17 So too I will send on you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave you: And pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring the sword on you. I the LORD have spoken it.' "

This shall be a sign to the house of Israel. 4 Lie also on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it: According to the number of the days that you shall lie on it you shall bear their iniquity. 5 For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: So shall you bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. 6 And when you have accomplished them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed you each day for a year. 7 Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and your arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it. 8 And behold, I will lay bands on you, and you shall not turn from one side to another, until you have ended the days of your siege.

1 Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the royal seed, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they ate bread together in Mizpah. 2 Then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah arose, and the ten men who were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land. 3 Ishmael also slew all the Jews who were with him, even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there, and the men of war. 4 And it came to pass the second day after he had slain Gedaliah, and no man knew it, 5 that there came certain men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even eighty men, having their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD. 6 And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: And it came to pass, as he met them, he said to them, "Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam." 7 And it was so, when they came into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah slew them, and cast them into the middle of the pit, he, and the men who were with him. 8 But ten men were found among them who said to Ishmael, "Do not slay us: For we have treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey." So he declined, and did not slay them among their brothers. 9 Now the pit into which Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had slain because of Gedaliah, it was the one which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel: And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with those who were slain. 10 Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people who were in Mizpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam: And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the Ammonites. 11 But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done, 12 then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon. 13 Now it came to pass, that when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, then they were glad. 14 So all the people who Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah cast about and returned, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah. 15 But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the Ammonites. 16 Then Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, took all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, even mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon: 17 And they departed, and dwelled in the habitation of Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go enter into Egypt, 18 because of the Chaldeans: For they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor in the land.
